Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1375: Chapter 1165: Twin Towers Mage with a Foot in Both Camps

”Besides drifting in the Stellar Realm for eons, does Heim have any other path?” Lansendel looked at Celene, bewildered.

”Not really... but it’s so tragic!” Celene said earnestly, ”Look, even his avatar has exploded, and Dandell only paused for a moment.

Now... Heim has moved his entire Divine Kingdom to the edge of the Sun~”

”Oh~” Lansendel laughed, ”He’s preparing for a slumber lasting for millennia~

Indeed.

He truly never makes the right choice, especially when... anyone can tell he prefers the woman in Shuni’s avatar~

But actually, it’s not that bad.

After all, it’s in a man’s nature~ After mocking him for hundreds of years, maybe after a few generations people will acknowledge his ways.

After all, Cyric doesn’t appear in male form.”

Hill glanced at Lansendel, indifferent to the fact that Toril was plunged into complete darkness... The Sun Peacock indeed seemed more focused on the movements of that Manks.

It shows that all these ancient deities understand clearly: since AO could release Dandell, naturally he has the means to restrain him again.

Even though as one of the embodiments of cosmic darkness, Dandell could never be completely destroyed, at least inflicting severe injury on him once would keep him docile for a millennium.

Perhaps this dark serpent might set its sights on another world then!

In any case, Teraxil would no longer remain within that serpent’s focus, the Wild Gods like Dandell are not inclined to provoke the World Tree.

After all, compared to those so-called Creator Gods, the World Tree is genuine, creating every bit of every universe on its own.

The others, like AO, actually just reshape a budding universe according to their will to form this world.

Therefore, only the worlds created by the World Tree possess real growth potential, completely unneeded to rely on AO pulling people and deities from other universes to thrive like Toril does.

Shaer stretched lazily: ”His real problem isn’t choosing a man over a woman.

But rather, his actions conflicting with what he desired his followers to do?

Guard the loved ones... has become letting the beloved one make way, or rather in the presence of followers.

The owner of Deepwater City, his faith is already crumbling.

Ha~

A world without light is just cold and dark, only stifling to breathe.

The followers of Heim, at this moment, perhaps can’t even take a breath, frozen solid?”

Hill glanced left and right, pressing both hands onto the Crystal Flower, slightly closing his eyes: In Agleya City, where there’s not a shred of light, not even a lamp can be lit, the white mist filling the city gradually started to sparkle with tiny glimmers.

Hill heard the cities’ cheer... though everyone tried to suppress their voices, the simultaneous cheering of tens of thousands inevitably stirred a ripple.

Then it was again suppressed by the Toril people, who had experienced too much, as no one wanted to attract the dreadful attention of the enemy outside.

”You can tell your citizens they don’t have to stifle themselves so much~” Lansendel said with a mischievous smile, ”If Dandell really swallowed the Sun, the glimmers in your mist would be much more noticeable than any sound.”

”It’s best to let them act according to their hearts.” Hill opened his eyes and smiled gently, ”Finding peace within themselves is more useful than any words of comfort.”

For the dark serpent Dandell, the survival of however many people on the Toril Planet is meaningless, his lifelong wish is to feel light and warmth... Born from the heart of cosmic destruction, he is cold to the extreme, and only by swallowing the heat from the Sun can he feel what warmth truly means.

So, as a wanderer of the Multiverse, he is the greatest enemy of all stars.

However, Dandell’s strongest foe is the Fire Element Plane where there’s never darkness, and the Heavenly Mountain without night is also inaccessible to him.

His existence is rooted in darkness, no matter how much he enjoys fleeting warmth, it’s only a momentary thing.

The Sun of Toril is an extremely powerful temptation to Dandell.

After all, this world originally had no Sun, the light and warmth coming from an Eternal Fire.

Compared to those ordinarily born suns, this planet burning with Eternal Fire possesses enough heat to let this gigantic dark serpent, who is an entire universe in itself, sleep a warm, comfortable sleep.

For mortals, as long as Toril still has the Maiden of the Moon who can fetch the fire at the place of the Eternal Fire, this disaster is no more than a few days of lightless days.

As long as the towns are well managed, it’s even easier to get through than major troubles like the fall of Mystra.

Just that... Hill turned to glance at Celene, who was curiously looking around... the Toril Gods probably do not want her to fetch the fire again.

”Something’s off with the Anmur people,” Shaer suddenly turned to ask, ”Hill, do you remember the leader of the sorcerers we met last time?”

”The Haber Family incident?” Hill recalled briefly and replied, ”The sorcerer factions in Anmur are quite complicated, but Tieflings should be involved.”

”Again... Mark City?” Shaer suddenly chuckled, ”I see! No wonder the Lady of Pain appears so unconcerned.

She always repays her grudges, and the Divine Artifact she borrowed was seized by me, how could she do nothing!”

”So that’s why they dared to treat someone with Shards of Mystra’s Soul like this!” Lansendel sighed, ”Those Archmages from Harua only dared to sacrifice these Quel Senta female mages after confirming they couldn’t become Mystra.

Since Safras was shielding them.

But Amn... they barely grabbed the female mage before acting, I thought it was Manks giving them the courage... huh~

But it seems that’s not the case!

Tsk tsk~

Even though Mark City is called the City of Devils, it’s completely different from Hell.

Why do people always think walking on two boats won’t backfire?

This... is Asmodier!

The Lord of Hell who drags anyone disrespectful to him into Hell to be ground into dust!

Tsk tsk, the fate of these Anmur people might be worse than Heim’s~

At least Heim’s boss left him a sliver of hope.

It all depends on whether or not Cyric will, can, keep silent.”

Hill asked earnestly, ”But, shouldn’t it have been the Lord of Hell who came later?

The alliance between Amn and the Sorcerers dates back ten thousand years.

The Tiefling clan entered Mark City thousands of years ago, right?

But Manks... didn’t start mingling with Amn until after the Years of Turmoil?

That was just a century ago.”

”Hill, haven’t you realized your biggest problem?” Celene turned her head toward the bewildered boy holding a flower by the pool.

”Hmm?” Hill couldn’t help but tilt his head.

”You follow the rules too much.

Even though you understand Toril is a world where the strong rule, you instinctively check for boundaries before doing anything.

Instead of acting like a Toril person: Since I am the strongest here, you all must listen to my commands and offer me everything.” Celene smiled, ”The order of arrival is meaningless before strength.

No, I’m not talking about the Lady of Pain and Asmodier.

I’m talking about the mages from the Twin Towers.

Even if they initially followed the Lady of Pain’s instructions, when Asmodier appeared before them, and the Lady of Pain did not step in to stop him, as long as they did not resist, they belonged to the Lord of Hell.

There’s nothing wrong with mingling with the former master, after all, the Lady of Pain is strong enough, and they didn’t know Asmodier’s true identity, only that he was very strong.

But... they didn’t realize if their true master permitted them to do so.

They must bear the consequences of their misjudgment.

Ha~ Does everyone think Midnight Mistrala is so forgiving?

Especially now, when they brazenly rely on another’s strength, appearing before the powerful who just declared ’these guys are my subordinates.’

Manks, doesn’t look too happy now!”

”Dandell is sure fast!

Did you see that? There are cracks appearing in the sky!

Oh ho~ Within at most three days, he’ll break through the Toril Planet!” Lansendel suddenly flapped his wings, flying in a circle around the sky castle, his spirit clearly over-excited.

But Hill felt he could understand.

Dandell broke the seal too quickly.

If the blockade of Toril could be broken so easily, Asmodier wouldn’t have hidden himself in a baby’s body until now.

Clearly, AO wasn’t using his full strength.

Hill looked up at the pitch-black night sky.

The cracks, though fragmented, were not very noticeable.

Logically, no matter how good his eyesight, in complete darkness he wouldn’t see anything... but because the sun outside Toril shed a faint white light through the cracks.

Only half-visible from the large iron door, Dandell also felt the light and seemed even more excited... his enormous head, under the gaze of the entire world, kept bouncing and bumping against the sky.

But Hill couldn’t help but glance southward: Edna, when do you plan to make your entrance?
