Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1393: Chapter 1183: A Thunderous Boom in the Sky, Wenjian Makes a Dazzling Entrance

’Young Master’ looked down at the tablet, then swiftly jumped onto the figurehead of the ship, sliding down the jagged note legs toward the sea.

A huge crab slightly emerged from the sea, catching the small figure. Its sharp and terrifying front claws were firmly drawn back, extending towards its back to create a very safe little space for ’Young Master’.

’Young Master’ paid no attention to the eerie blue glow on the terrifying spikes of the crab’s claw beside him, casually grabbing onto something to stabilize his body: ”Kuni, we’re preparing for battle now~ Is everyone ready?”

This time, the enemy might be strong, or else Old Dog wouldn’t keep asking you all to safeguard yourselves. It should be that their levels and numbers are almost the same as ours, which is why he says that.

Old Dog’s always like that, putting the bad news upfront.

So, if things go wrong later, he can’t be blamed; it’s our own carelessness to blame.

But... Tch, what is cautiousness anyway? Why do I have to value him so much?

Humph~ So tell me, why do you insist on jumping into this fight?

I actually don’t want to, look at Black Rose, even protecting little piglets so well~

Why must you face such dangers directly? If... any little crab gets into trouble, how could I face their parents in Teraxil?”

Kuni moved in the water, a series of bubbles floated to the surface: ”My friend, sometimes I’m at a loss on how to deal with your ignorance.

You know less about the Embroidered Crab’s talents than even Snow Old Dog!

Having a space to flee to in times of crisis is like being immortal to us... otherwise, why do you think the ancestors allowed young crabs to contract with you?

If they can still perish like that, then... I suppose in Teraxil they wouldn’t reach adulthood, and dying is what they deserve.

Crabs unable to make an instinctual escape should just die early and reincarnate as tortoises.”

”What do you mean?” ’Young Master’ asked perplexed, ”My pride is never letting a crab face a life-threatening crisis, why worry about what you’d do when facing death?”

”Tch~” Kuni threw out more bubbles, ”No use talking to you. Just remember, even if our body is wholly ruined, life endures.

We only need to grow up again.

This talent really depends on fate, because our escaped selves can only appear nearby... if the enemy doesn’t leave any corner unchecked, young crabs barely have any survival chances.

So, we’ve been surviving on toxins we’ve absorbed, no one relies on such one-in-ten lifeline talents anymore.

But by following the Undead Tribe, this isn’t a problem~ Our companion space is the best backing.

Ugh... Forget it, you won’t explore causes and effects of unoccurred events, accept it that you choose your partners and are responsible for them.

Just hurry and put on your armor! The one for underwater use.”

”Okay~” ’Young Master’ adorably tilted his head, dug out a light blue Water Armor from a small bag, and as soon as he donned the small helmet, a bubble enveloped him completely.

”The Water Armor can extend the Water-Avoiding Bubble by an hour; now I can stay at the sea bed for 8 hours~” ’Young Master’ calculated his own BUFF duration, ”William is so boring; why did he also give us underwater breathing time!?

Tch, what kind of world is this~ We live less at ease than those skeletons.”

”Skeletons don’t have animal companions; just shut up!” Kuni gestured with his claws then plunged into the sea.

Near Wenjian’s dozen grand luxurious ships, tens of thousands of Embroidered Crabs closely followed Kuni’s lead, diving with their owners toward the seabed.

A giant Hydra appeared near the Chult Coast... Hydra rarely showed his true form, he draped his long tail on the sand, nine huge heads staring at various living creatures on the Chult Peninsula.

Just then, ’a thunderous roar sounded, deafeningly in the sky of Chult, resounding in the ears of all creatures on Toril.

The screams of humans and the howls of animals rang out simultaneously worldwide... every creature received a clear message in their heart: Toril’s sky had been shattered.

Then came a continuous ’boom boom boom’, finally turned into a ’snap and crackle’... the sky, like tempered glass, after the first crack appeared, under the mad assault of the giant serpent, first formed rings of ever-expanding cracks, then turned into countless fragments, directly cascading towards the earth.

Toril’s sky was indeed thoroughly rent.

Fierce winds and tempest, sky collapse, earth split, endless Flying Sand and Rolling Stones swept toward the Ferun Great Land, though most nations and cities had long prepared... those living in wilderness and highlands could only rely on themselves to withstand this disaster.

Toril’s mortals, even squeezed to barely survive, yet still prefer residing in townships, for this reason.

Natural disasters and calamities are too rampant; wanting to live requires dependency on strong beings.

Hill turned his head toward the suction-like bottom of Chult, face heavy: AO truly doesn’t care at all, allowing the world to suffer such damage.

It seems he’s awaiting the end of the Path of Destiny before he would come to tidy things up.

”Should we return to Agleya?” Fran gently asked him. ”Work here is almost done, only some interior decoration is left, which we’ll complete in the future.”

Hill shook his head: ”Before leaving, I already opened Agleya’s Puzzle Lock at the highest level, unless those three engage in formal conflict; otherwise, there won’t be issues.

This time, the damage mainly comes from the gales coming from afar; Agleya is not close to the main rupture point Chult, relying on the Puzzle Lock, it can withstand.

Instead, it’s here...”

He looked down at the Hidden Town beneath the Floating Island: ”Mithril Elves’ main defense is in the forest center, the town’s defense isn’t all that strong.

The last time Toril collapsed, nothing happened here due to sheer luck.

After all, it’s beside the World’s Ridge.”

Hill smiled pulling out his magic book: ”This time, we don’t rely on luck alone.”

Fran watched Hill’s movements, and below, the Undead Tribe rushing out of their dwellings, worriedly looking at the sky, suddenly sighed: ”When have you ever lacked luck?

Look at your magic book...”

He fondly touched the crystal ball by his side, recollecting his escapades among various planes searching for Origin Power... accumulating bit by bit to forge his crystal ball into what it is now.

Yet, Hill’s magic book!

Upon closely examining it afterward, he couldn’t fathom how someone could sit at home and create such a potent Divine Artifact!

Though in terms of damage potential, his crystal ball might surpass Hill’s magic book, yet regarding defensive and auxiliary power, they’re comparable; in overall versatility... the crystal ball doesn’t match up.

Hill was watching the Hidden Town guarded by the Forest Array with a smile, detecting the sour tones in Fran’s words, turned to his grandfather: ”Mm... It was merely choosing the most apt options when structuring the magic system.”

Then even he couldn’t help but laugh, batting his beautiful eyes gracefully: ”That’s because I laid a solid foundation in magic construction, achieving such excellent outcomes!

Fran contemplated before speaking: ”True, though this construct style suits only you. After all, it relies on several magic resonances randomly producing a trait.

’Random’ is a nightmare for many.

Especially for Alchemists.

Anyone betting on random traits has their warehouse filled with junk.”

Hill couldn’t address this query; his play with random attributes might not suit him perfectly, but it virtually never results in warehouse-cluttering junk.

Though defensive means vary across Toril’s other regions, they were prepared and endured the first cosmic storm.

But the hurricane-centered Chult faced dire peril.

The Flame Mountain Range’s tornadoes formed of Primordial Power were intensely shaken for several minutes under the onslaught of the heaven-descending turbulent gales, before ultimately dissipating.

Edna’s Cloud House got swept by hurricanes, rushing out of Chult.

No one knew who was inside that Mystra, or whether they were safe.

But Harua and Anmur’s Archmages lacked the focus to ponder this issue... Moreover, after escaping from Toril, Dandell’s huge snake tail fiercely struck the mountain before exiting, fracturing the dimensional space beneath the iron gate into pieces.

The volcanic lava erupting skyward is insignificant compared to the spatial turbulence and uncountable spatial rifts arising because of the Night Serpent.

No one knows how many mages fell unawares into spatial rifts, their fates unsure.

Though Manks wasn’t affected, she closely pursued a Baldy Mage’s silhouette into one of the rifts.

Though the Feline God and Crocodile Head timely plunged into the hurricane carrying Cloud House rushing beyond Chult.
