Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 750: Chapter 549 Hill’s Actions behind the Scenes

Lansendel immediately understood that if he was genuinely interested in the World of Quince, he could start by asking these foreign elves.

As long as they were adventurers, they wouldn’t be unwilling to exchange their external knowledge for money.

He chuckled joyfully a few times, ”I don’t know why, but I always feel that world suits me.”

He patted his wings and asked Hill with a tilt of his head, ”Can I buy those gemstones from you?”

Lansendel proudly lifted his tail feathers, ”I can trade them for my feathers!”

Hill smiled, ”Of course, the feathers of a Sun Peacock, an incarnation of the Lord of Dawn, are always the most popular.”

Proudly, Lansendel dropped a few tail feathers and collected the gemstones on the table, ”Then I’ll let the nearby followers post the task, shall I?”

He strutted to the terrace, looking at the sun in the sky, ”If it really proves useful to me, I should think about how to get Coron to agree to let me use his Star Gate.

I am actually very careful in my actions~ Why do they always consider me a troublemaker!”

Hill could only maintain silence and politely see off this Lord of Dawn.

The troublemaker, of course, wouldn’t consider himself the root of all disasters; they only complain about why things didn’t go as initially thought.

However, watching the departing Lansendel, Hill was somewhat surprised.

This Lord of Dawn was actually quite cautious! He had thought Lansendel would go directly to the Undead Tribe to post the task himself.

What a pity, the Undead Tribe lost a chance to pluck, no, to touch the feathers up close; they probably still couldn’t pull it off.

But at least for a short while, there won’t be a big bird constantly watching over here from the top of the clouds, Hill felt a bit more at ease.

He didn’t believe that Lansendel wouldn’t be observing the Undead Tribe while observing his own actions.

Having sent away the big trouble, Hill rubbed his hands together and pulled out a vine of Crystal Flower to start drawing silk.

A return gift for Alice would be best made into a gown.

The dress Hill chose for his elder daughter featured a sheer, trailing hem complemented with cape sleeves, in a gold gradient long dress.

Alice had said, ”It’s normal for the Queen of Quince to like gemstones!”

Hill summoned Marsha, asking her to have the Life Golems embed various sizes and colors of diamonds onto the long dress.

Then he personally integrated golden feathers into the fabric to form sequins.

This was something only those who govern laws or possess divinity could accomplish. Others, unless favored by Lansendel, would simply be burned to death by Divine Fire if they held it.

Hill arranged the sequins in a gradient, denser at the upper body and more sparse at the hem of the skirt.

The overall fabric of the dress was sheer, conveying a sense of lightness. Despite the many sparkling sequins and rhinestones, it did not feel heavy but maintained an ethereal fairy-like charm.

Suitable for Alice’s temperament, Hill nodded in satisfaction.

Although he himself didn’t understand what was called beauty, copying the dresses of queens and princesses from past worlds should suffice, especially those that received universal acclaim.

Indeed, the sequins and gemstones in the dress were all fashioned by Hill into an Array.

As the base material was from the Crystal Flower’s vine, there was no need to add any Purification Array. Hill’s particularly cleanliness-loving ancestor could eliminate dust within a meter radius with just a strand.

Additionally, with Lansendel’s feathers, abilities such as Purification and Radiance Rejuvenation were naturally inherent.

Thus, Hill was able to imbue the long dress with more functional spells.

These seemingly simple diamonds and feathers ultimately created impressive effects:

First, there was a psychic barrier for anti-spying. Compared to Hill and Agleya, who inherently couldn’t be spied upon due to their divinity, the most crucial thing for Alice was keeping her true capabilities concealed.

Outside Teraxil, Prophecy Spells were too popular, with even some deities acting according to prophecies.

Like here in Toril, every deity learned a few Prophecy Techniques. Despite being deceived many times, their original intentions remained unaltered.

There were also psychic and emotional spells, all easily affecting this cat. Although natural consciousness would warn her, Alice’s emotional nature might lead her to ignore it completely.

Then Hill added a permanent illusion spell. For Alice, who excelled in Sun and Silvermoon Magic, this spell that concealed her real actions was quite practical.

Next was the Magic Absorber. This spell created an invisible magic energy disc but could absorb any spells targeting Alice.

The quality of the materials made it potent enough to absorb spells below level 9, but level 9 spells would cause significant damage to the garment.

Even though Divine Artifacts were inherently indestructible, certain level 9 spells could still damage them.

However, Hill didn’t think anyone could force Alice to directly withstand so many spells. With her strong ability to escape, she should be able to slip away unless killed outright.

Typically, a Subartifact armor that could contain these three spells was considered decent, but the materials of this garment, derived from a Demigod and potent divine power, naturally weren’t that simple.

Lastly, Hill added a Freedom Spell, ensuring that no spells could restrict Alice’s freedom, which should keep her from any danger.

Hill gazed at the newly-formed golden gown with a smile. He hadn’t anticipated the gown’s innate feature: it could slightly augment the wielder’s Divine Arts of the Solar System and rapidly restore Mana under sunlight.

He joyfully returned the gown to Alice’s small chest, planning to find time later to have an Undead Tribe member deliver it to Alice.

Now their eyes were set on Toril, not on any minor world.

However, if Lansendel truly received Coron’s approval, a storm was bound to erupt in Quince immediately, as that man was accustomed to letting his Dawn Church lead the charge.

There would surely be members of the Undead Tribe who went there to watch the excitement.

Considering the gown’s properties, Hill began to understand Lansendel’s pursuit of the Sun; he indeed had related powers, so why shouldn’t he compete for them?

The original Sun God had died without a trace.

Unfortunately, the true Sun God was merely severely injured and had fallen into an almost eternal slumber, needing nothing but some devout calls.

Lansendel was just the person to do it.

Hill didn’t care about this self-inflicted situation, but he wasn’t a fan of the original Sun God, Amanata.

Originally, Suren had become enemies with Shaer in the process of creating him, only for Amanata to remain neutral in the end.

If it weren’t for the first appearance of the Goddess of Magic, Suren would have been killed directly by Shaer just for creating him.

Such a Sun God, even if resurrected, really meant nothing.

Moreover, Hill looked at the setting Sun and disliked the strict and conservative Sun Church deeply.

Upon his return, the real enemy wouldn’t be Lansendel but Tyr.

Tyr’s destruction later on was heavily linked to him.

Amanata’s true adherence was not to the Sun but to fairness and Law, and he was the type to rigidly dictate the price of an apple.

Moreover, while Lansendel was asleep, he had almost entirely occupied his Divinity, not letting Lansendel catch a breath save for aspects like passion and youth that didn’t relate to him.

Amanata was the true god of power control.

Based on his doctrines, he was nearly a combination of the Divinities of the God of Time and Space, William, and the God of Nobility.

It was perfectly normal for him to sleep indefinitely, how greedy!

Hill returned to his desk and wrote a letter to Coron, hoping he would agree to Lansendel’s idea of going to Quince.

Lansendel’s biggest issue now was that he couldn’t touch the Sun, but if he succeeded in acquiring Sun Divinity in another world and then returned to Toril, there was a chance he could gradually consume the real Sun Divinity.

Such an opportunity could trap Lansendel in the Sun for tens of thousands of years.

But given the chance, with Lansendel’s temperament, he definitely wouldn’t continue impersonating Amanata’s avatar as the Sun God.

Hill didn’t say much in the letter, just suggesting that with so many recent events, it would be better to send Lansendel away; otherwise, who knew what he might become curious about next.

Good or bad, the results of Lansendel’s involvement could lead to a collective explosion.

As for another outcome, Hill just hoped for the possibility.

Moreover, Hill always felt that AO’s special attention to Lansendel was solely because he was most susceptible to the coercion of the Tablets of Fate.

If Lansendel moved away, how would destiny enable Amanata’s resurrection?

Would AO personally intervene to restore the Sun God Temple?

The current Dawn Church was still filled with Lansendel’s direct followers! They certainly wouldn’t praise the Sun.

Hill suddenly laughed, noticing his own change.

In the past, Hill would have distanced himself and watched from afar in such situations, but this time, he was trying to steer the course of events toward the outcome he wished to see.

Although it was just an impulsive act, compared to his previous reluctance to intervene at all, he had indeed become much more confident.

However, a world without the Omnipotent God was truly suitable for someone like him who loved to stir things up behind the scenes!

Hill calmly summoned List to deliver the letter to the Seraph leader Rashrael, who was stationed at Alchemy Square and served as Coron’s messenger, able to directly pass the letter to Coron.

Lansendel’s followers arrived quickly.

After all, most of them were young people.

Many people, as they grew older and matured, would quietly abandon their fanatical worship of Lansendel.

Just like Hill, who resolutely refused to admit that he had once been a ridiculous trend-follower after his rebellious teenage years.

Hill watched the group of Dawn Priests dressed in golden robes and flamboyantly adorned, and he smirked coldly.

These guys actually planned to personally inquire with the Undead Tribe.
