Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 743: Chapter 542 Long-lost Self-contempt

Hill looked at Lynn, whose face was full of question marks, and sighed deeply.

”If it is the will of Coron, the elves, at least those in Agleya Town, will try their best to get along with these foreign adventurers,” said Lynn solemnly.

He thought Hill was worried about the elves being xenophobic.

How could that be, when the elves themselves had been taken in, not to mention the divine will of Coron?

”I’m not worried about that, I’m just afraid you’ll be scared,” Hill revealed an ambiguous smile, which gave Lynn a sense of impending doom.

”Speaking of which, the leader of the Silver Shield also had dealings with that group of adventurers,” Hill mused, ”How about this, call Terry to the Mayor’s Mansion and I’ll ask Marsha to invite that leader over, so that Marsha and List can give you a crash course in common sense.

It’s best if the senior members of the Elf Crusade can all be there, it’s better to be prepared for some things.”

Lynn’s face changed.

Of course, he knew who Hill was referring to, there were two Divine Envoys by Coron’s side. One was Rashrael, typically chaotic, and the other Fileraseil, a bit more orderly.

Even the elves of the Chaos System hoped the orderly one would be the messenger.

According to Hill, even the fey demons, the race that naturally loved mischief, could be considered orderly angels compared to the so-called Undead Tribe adventurers. Lynn couldn’t even fathom what that would be like.

He looked at Hill, who didn’t want to say more, and stood up, ”I will go back and wait for List and Marsha, Hill, you should at least tell me, how many can come?”

”There should be about eighty or ninety million of the Undead Tribe in Teraxil, and I don’t know how many can come through to Toril,” Hill cautiously gave a conservative estimate.

”Ah!” As he watched Lynn, whose face had paled, turn to leave, Hill quickly added, ”The forest land below me will become the Undead Tribe’s settlement in the future.”

”Can it fit millions of people?” Lynn asked hesitantly.

”Teraxil is a world with the God of Time and Space; there are many Strange Objects related to space,” Hill answered, ”That carriage of mine is just a Junior product in Teraxil.”

Lynn was momentarily lost in thought before he slowly left, recalling the enchanted spaces of the magic ship and the carriage. Such items were the most basic level?

Without the Undead Tribe even arriving yet, he already felt that the world was about to change greatly.

After hesitating for two days, Hill turned the vast forest below the Floating Castle into an independent yet interconnected park.

A network of pathways connected clearings of various sizes, waiting for their future masters.

Only in the very center was there a large Space Plaza erected, reserved for the imminent arrival of a space Divine Artifact.

This plaza itself could probably only accommodate about two hundred thousand people, but with that artifact, the capacity could definitely be expanded beyond imagination.

If there were Undead Tribe members without an Alchemy Hut, they could just follow the artifact inside.

Those families and factions of the Undead Tribe with their own vast space huts wouldn’t need any special treatment from Hill.

Then he had the mindset to care about others in the town.

Having been warned, Lynn and the Elf Crusade were actively dealing with their houses, seemingly planning to reinforce their defenses and at the same time render their interiors invisible from the outside.

Hill had never thought that the elves would react in this way.

He even specifically asked List what they had told the elves to make them think fixing their houses would suffice.

List was also puzzled; he had very seriously educated them on the great achievements of the Undead Tribe, and the Silver Shield leader had added his own experience of being observed.

He really couldn’t understand why the elves’ thought processes had taken such a direction.

Including Lynn, he had also asked Marsha to completely separate his residential space from his work area.

Terry was influenced by them as well, completely concealing his Dragon Nest. To enter his home, even his parents would have to navigate the Maze Formation again.

Only Terry himself could teleport directly in, using the Dimensional Space Gate on his artifact pendant.

Although Hill did not understand, he felt a certain degree of resonance; his Floating Castle, even when flying mid-air, did not reveal anything inside at all.

In this world, there are few powerful beings like Hill who are so rigorously protective of their homes; they certainly do not care about displaying the beauty and strength of their domains.

As long as the interior of the houses remained unseen, that would suffice.

This habit of Hill’s was indeed cultivated by the Undead Tribe.

The Paladins of the Silver Shield reacted rather mildly; aside from an abundance of curiosity about the Undead Tribe they’d encountered, they rather liked them.

When the Star Gate had shattered, many Undead chose to help the stranded Paladins instead of saving themselves.

Otherwise, not all of them would have survived.

Upon learning the perspective of the Silver Shield Knights, Hill had only one thought.

So, the Undead Tribe who had helped the Tyr Paladins might get ’Friendly’ standing with Tyr as soon as they enter Toril on their system panel?

Whoever foresaw that indeed had great foresight.

To have uniformly chosen to help NPCs, there must’ve been a leader among them, otherwise, the reaction of the Undead Tribe wouldn’t be so coordinated.

Otherwise, there would always be those wanting to see how NPCs struggle.

Originally somewhat worried, Hill soon sensed the fluctuations of the establishment of the Space Gate in the deep sea outside Deepwater City.

It wasn’t far from Agleya Town, and Hill suspected it was a location specially chosen by Coron.

It seems AO really compromised.

Agleya, who also sensed it, carefully checked her own temple, then stayed in the castle permanently, determined not to leave until she found the treasure of the Moon Forest Druid.

Hill spent the last few days in restless and wild speculations.

He truly missed these old friends, but he was also a bit worried; that bit of dark history was certainly not going to be concealed this time, and the Undead Tribe would only exaggerate the truth, definitely not helping him cover it up.

But all this unease disappeared in the morning light of the seventh day.

Hill parked his floating castle above the harbor and, for the first time, canceled all the isolation arrays.

He stood on the terrace, watching the huge white sails appear on the horizon, and smiled gently.

As the sailing ship drew nearer, the figures on the deck became clear, and Hill finally understood what the surprise Coron spoke of was.

He didn’t know what he had given up to convince William and the God of Time and Space to unlock the four body templates for elves and half-elves.

Looking at those long ears hopping around on the deck, Hill suddenly felt a twinge of pain in his stomach.

Did Coron truly believe that the elves of Toril did not fit the Chaotic Faction?

If the people of Toril really thought these were true elves... Hill couldn’t help but touch his own ears, and only after he felt they were not pointed at all did he calm down.

Lynn, who stood on the harbor welcoming the guests from the otherworld with Marsha, also noticed these long ears as the sailing ship drew closer.

Although there were many humans, the number of elves and half-elves on that ship was certainly not small.

Lynn couldn’t help but glance at the floating castle in mid-air: Hill had said that they were humans from another world, right? List did not mention that their strange elemental bodies had any elves, just that they were incredibly wild in behavior because of their Undeath.

Lynn could actually understand the madness of the Undead, just as most long-lived elves were Chaotic; otherwise, how could one possibly enjoy a life that never changes?

Only with the carefree nature of Chaos could one find enough fun in a long life.

But rather than welcoming humans from another world, Lynn preferred everything he was seeing now; so many elves, and even knowing those bodies were fake, he couldn’t help but break into a smile from the bottom of his heart.

The Elf Crusade standing beside him did the same, the normally serious expressions on their faces giving way to laughter.

Ten white sailboats, riding the wind and waves, headed straight for the harbor of Agleya Town.

Hill also spotted the Seraphs standing on the bows of the ships.

Coron had actually sent his most powerful messengers.

Seeing their lively expressions and constantly flapping large wings, the shimmering robes, Hill was sure he was going to meet the famous Rashrael.

The Undead upon the deck finally noticed Hill standing in the air; they hopped around waving their hands, their voices loud: ”Hill~ we missed ya~”

”Wait, wait, wait~ Where’s our band~ Come on~ Make merry~”

”Hurry up~ Hill’s over there! Didn’t we agree to give him a surprise~”

Chairs were swiftly set up on the ten side-by-side ships, and figures holding various instruments merrily took their seats. A multitude of figures then stood behind them, and seeing their peculiar formation, Hill suspected they were gearing up for a choir performance.

A small figure jumped directly onto the mainmast of the central ship, taking up a conductor’s baton and posing to begin.

Seeing the long-missed Young Master, a great panic finally rose in Hill’s heart.

”Old friend, I’ve missed you!

Miss the old songs we used to sing~

Old friend, I’ve longed for you~

Miss those times we were drunk together ah~

Old friend, I yearn for you~

Miss the initial beauty of our togetherness ah~

Old friend, you really came! Let’s have a grand reunion~”

The Undead started to sing, and the lyrics turned out to be quite proper. Hill slowly relaxed, maybe after such a long time, they would let him off the hook?

However, Hill soon despaired.

The music suddenly broke into an erratic rhythm, something was off.

”By the seaside, beneath the white clouds~

There’s a little bear that’s lost~

Woo woo woo woo~ Woo woo woo woo~

Crying because it can’t find its way home!

Little friends, have you seen~

Quickly find the poor little bear~

Aye yay aye yay~ Aye yay aye yay~

And take it back home!”

Hill’s face was as still as water, he should not have had any expectations of this bunch at all!
