Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 724: Chapter 523: The Second Generation Alliance Group Seeking Treasure

Hill looked towards the direction of the residential area, he only came here after it was opened. Was there any relation?

Marsha said hesitantly, ”Could it be related to the people living in the apartments? There are a few young people from Neverwinter who rented a whole floor together, they don’t seem to come from ordinary families.

”Moreover, those living on the floor above are from Baldur’s Gate, and below are from Deepwater City, while the fourth floor is from Silvermoon City.

They are all city-states within the Silvermoon Alliance, they might be planning something.”

”I don’t want to hear uncertainties, Marsha,” Hill smiled, ”I only want results.”

”Yes, sir, please be patient. I will find the answer as soon as possible.” Marsha quickly disappeared.

”Hill Dad~” Agleya approached.

List had informed her right after Hill finished speaking, and by now it should have been fully stocked.

”Agleya, you should have enough of those pearls in hand, right?” Hill turned to ask her.

”Definitely enough. I usually stack this level of pearls in the warehouse. I grabbed some immediately after I finished with the clones. I haven’t counted, but a few thousand pearls are no problem,” Agleya lifted her right hand.

A bracelet composed of a dozen aquamarines shimmered, each stone a storage space.

Compared to space rings made from space crystals, the space constructed by aquamarines is not very large, but it’s suitable for storing things from the sea.

Each is a pool of pure seawater.

This kind of aquamarine is also a rare existence in Teraxil, available only in the deepest seas, and even when they appear sporadically, they are few and carried by ocean currents.

Before the God of Time and Space appeared, the price of each aquamarine was equivalent to twice the size of mithril.

Now it’s not as expensive.

But if the space size is the same, one aquamarine ring could exchange for three space element rings; there’s still a difference in aesthetics.

So, for Agleya, who is the Sea God and already controls the oceans of Teraxil, it’s quite a nice piece of ornamentation.

She has plenty of them, and Agleya likes them quite a bit.

”Hill Dad~” Agleya leaned in curiously, ”Why blue pearls? They are the lowest level I have!”

”The expensive ones they can’t afford either. They can only afford 200 blue water pearls, and Neverwinter is considered a wealthy city in this world.” Hill tapped her little head, ”Don’t be so lazy! The price list of strange objects in this world, didn’t I give you a copy?

You have to remember it well.

The resources of this world are not as abundant as ours; whatever it is, when bringing it out, it’s best to lower it by two levels.”

”But the world’s level is so high~” Agleya said resentfully.

”It was higher before. But now, the good things are spoiled. Deities as well as demigods and the legendary powerhouses don’t have much of a guarding mindset.

It’s not exactly that; their kind of protection is different from ours, probably because they have too many enemies,” Hill said indifferently.

”I’ve been reading their stories recently, and suddenly feel like the God of Nobility would be a good person if he were here,” Agleya complained.

”Him?” Hill laughed, ”He was the first one to die.”

If it were the God of Nobility, he probably would have gone mad over the Cyrine Scripture if he saw it.

Such strong desire for control, yet such poor controlling power.

Agleya blinked, trying hard to understand the meaning of Hill’s words.

”Forget about him, the bizarre ways in which the gods of this world died are more worth your attention.

Avoid the pitfalls they once fell into, and you can smoothly become a powerful deity.” Hill stroked her head, ”See that ruin across from Tyr Temple?

Go read about Baal’s story!

He was actually quite powerful, it’s just a shame his ambition exceeded his abilities.”

”The paladins of Tyr say although he turned into scum, there’s still the possibility of resurrection, so they must keep watch.” Agleya said, ”Are they enemies?”

”Baal’s divinity is murder,” Hill thought for a moment before saying, ”Strictly speaking, it’s Cyric who inherited his divinity who is the biggest enemy of these kind gods of Tyr.

However, the gods of Toril would rather engage in wits and bravery with the mad Cyric than see Baal again.

Even the Goddess of Magic would strive to keep him that scum.

Their hatred has surpassed factions and divinities.”

Hill hesitated for a moment, wait, why was he suddenly thinking of Baal?

This guy is a god of the Evil Faction, which has no cautionary value for Agleya.

The death of the first Goddess of Magic is what Hill wanted Agleya to be aware of; he absolutely didn’t want Agleya to be bound by the divinity.

She is great, but Hill absolutely didn’t want his daughter to be that great.

He turned his head towards the direction of the apartment building.

No way? Only those of the Kind Alignment could stay here!

Among the young people from Baldur’s Gate, there couldn’t be a Child of Bhaal, could there?

That thing better not come here!

But, if a Child of Bhaal hasn’t awakened their bloodline, it’s indeed possible that they are of the kind alignment.

Hill pinched his brow, he really didn’t want to stage any battle of fate in his place.

”Hill Dad?” Agleya clung to his arm and asked softly, ”What’s wrong?”

Hill shook his head, ”It’s not really a big deal, but there might be a little trouble heading our way.”

With his left thumb and forefinger, Hill showed a small distance, remembering that those young people all looked human.

In games like Baldur’s Gate, it doesn’t necessarily happen in reality; otherwise, according to the timeline, Baal should have already resurrected through one of his sons by now.

In reality, he indeed had some offspring, but as soon as they were discovered, they were sent to various major temples to be suppressed, far fewer than in the stories.

The deities are not foolish, and their hatred for Baal made many gods wary of Baldur’s Gate.

It was unexpected that an archmage would suddenly wreck,, letting a student cause some trouble that nearly destroyed half of Baldur’s Gate.

But Baal’s resurrection still failed in the end.

It wasn’t the adopted son mentioned in the game, nor was there such kind adoptive father.

The archmage merely wanted to research the offspring of the gods and find a way to live forever without turning into a lich.

He ended up being used by a remnant soul of Baal.

If such a high-level archmage really wanted to do something, even the temples might not be able to withstand it.

This archmage, with his student whose soul had been corrupted, overturned several temples of the kind alignment and killed all the suppressed children of Baal inside.

However, the temples of Baldur’s Gate were caught off-guard, and the Prince of Lies, Cyric, who didn’t want the God of Murder to resurrect and compete for divinity, was well prepared.

He simply killed the archmage and his student, a child of Baal.

Cyric’s incarnation was truly glorious that time, using the major temples of Baldur’s Gate as stepping stones.

He absorbed countless followers.

And that was the closest Baal ever came to being resurrected, as nearly all his many offspring were dead except for a few undiscovered by the temples.

The people from the Ferun Great Land thought that the remaining bloodline was completely inadequate for Baal to resurrect again, so as long as there weren’t several of them, Hill could still be at ease.

At worst, he would just take out the Holy Relic Painting, ensuring that the remnants of Baal would never wake up.

Agleya observed for a while and, noticing that Hill had calmed down, quickly grabbed a book and slipped away.

She did not want Hill to assign her a heap of homework again.

After observing for a few days, Marsha came to respond to Hill.

The people from Baldur’s Gate were the daughter of the Silver Shield Duke, who likes to runaway, a third-rate thief.

She brought a small team: a warrior, a bard, a mage, and a ranger.

Marsha felt there was something off about the cold mage, but the warrior, although not very stout, was somewhat an uncontrollable berserker.

They came to Hill’s place because they heard that Agleya Town’s Puzzle Lock had strong purification and emotion-suppressing capabilities.

Hill gave a wry smile.

As for Prince Bane, what he was really interested in was a female mage from Neverwinter: she was his own sister.

She also brought a party of adventurers she organized herself.

Hill hesitated a moment, wondering how such people would end up living in an apartment?

Watching Hill quietly, Marsha said, ”The people from Deepwater City and Silvermoon City seem to have some status too. Although not as notable as those two, they knew each other and each brought their companions.

It seems they had agreed to adventure together.”

Hill gritted his teeth and said, ”Where do they want to go on an adventure?”

Marsha whispered, ”If not the Sword Mountain Range, then they plan to go underwater to see Baal’s Temple.”

”That place, even legendary mages dare not venture into,” Hill mentioned without bringing up the Sword Mountain Range.

If they dared to go, Hill would dare to throw them all out of his territory.

Hill walked back and forth in the study, unhappy, as this matter could not be handled by Lynn.

These people’s identities were too troublesome, even Hill had to be careful.

”Wait, the identity of that berserker, did they already know about it?” Hill paused, ”Is this because they think there’s no hope for Baal’s resurrection, so they are aiming for the temple’s treasury?

Are they trying to use the Blood of Baal to unlock it?

Marsha!

Prince Bane, he didn’t plan to drag his sister back, did he?”

Marsha nodded, ”After observing for a day, he just left, apparently only wanting to check who his sister’s companions were.

He left quickly with the Pearl.

Ah, sir, many merchants also want to buy that Blue Water Pearl.”

Hill clicked his tongue, ”Ask Agleya, if she wants to sell it, quote 550 gold, one per day only.

I guess only people from Luskan might buy two to see if they can crack it, others wouldn’t dare.

Pure Water Pearl is much more economical.”

”Yes, sir,” Marsha promptly agreed and disappeared into thin air.

Hill looked towards Tyr Temple, and Silver Shield did not seem to intend to intervene.
