Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 727: Chapter 526 Another Way to Use the Maze Formation

Hill could understand why Suren and Agleya seemed to be love at first sight.

The moon and the ocean were inherently connected, their divine powers echoing each other.

In some more harmonious universes, the relationship between the Moon Goddess and the Sea God was quite good.

Of course, here in Toril, the chaotic battle among All Gods likely had nothing to do with it; Suren wouldn’t even bat an eyelid at Ambori.

Beyond guiding the tides, Suren’s divinity also included guiding those lost at sea.

Just as she said, those unlucky sailors, if troubled by Ambori, would think of Suren first to seek rescue.

Most of the time, if Suren heard them, she would definitely lend a hand, even if the ones praying were pirates.

The most troublesome thing about her was her complete lack of stance; often, even those from the Chaotic Faction would show some bias, but she, perhaps her eternal enemy Shaer, could suddenly pray to her and she would waver.

But, Suren was particularly caring toward women, far more proper than Shuni.

Her church esteemed and praised the status of women, seeing them as mentors and models in society and family, and guided women on how to live independently and autonomously, and how to handle complex relationships within the family.

Thus, most of her female followers were quite devout. Women’s stances were quite prone to change with their moods, so they didn’t really mind the supreme deity’s rapid changes of commands.

It was just sometimes awkward, especially since one moment they might be calling for battle, and suddenly they would change direction.

The only relief was, Suren had no desire for battle and would only act when pushed to the edge.

Speaking of which, Suren’s rituals always involved milk; Hill suddenly remembered the dairy fruit stored in his pendant, took out an exquisite crystal plate to set it on, and asked Marsha to deliver it.

After all, Suren was still arguing with Lansendel and wasn’t even paying attention to the painting.

From what she said, she and Lansendel actually discovered Hill’s painting together because they were just together discussing some matters.

Suren was the guest, so she had to go home first.

It wasn’t until she returned to her own Josse Garden and was ready in her clone’s attire that she found Lansendel had already arrived there.

He had even startled the network administrator AO, who forbade them from contacting regarding this heroic event.

Even sending a warning through the Weave to her followers about impending trouble wasn’t allowed; how could AO possibly watch these two send clones down?

But Hill’s case was indeed an exception.

As Agleya’s Divine Kingdom on Earth, it had a meaning outside of fate.

The Tablets of Fate could only set this place as a starting point, but they could not weave any stories here.

Lansendel was surprised at this aspect as well; the Great Peacock was almost jumping mad, feeling AO was too lenient with Suren. If it had been him falling behind, he certainly wouldn’t have had this chance.

Suren felt Lansendel was foolish; he had already descended, what was there to worry about? Hill and Agleya would notice, and AO actually had no need to obstruct anymore.

She was only given three hours; even watching the commotion wasn’t possible.

Lansendel laughed proudly, ’gagaga,’ then was struck by a spiked hammer.

The weapon of the Silvermoon Priestess, the ’Hand of the Moon,’ sounded beautiful but was actually very heavy.

Then they began to argue.

Agleya looked on innocently, unable to even get a word in edgewise to mediate.

Pulling his attention away from the painting, Hill patted his chest; he felt that if it were him up there, he might have had a heart attack.

Luckily, Agleya could pull off an innocent look. Truly worthy of being the youth he had raised!

Lansendel and Suren kept muttering ’AO.’

That was the God Above Gods, AO!

Each appearance usually came after a carnage, heralding a judgment.

Like gouging out an eye of the God of Justice, Tyr, or locking up a powerful deity for 1000 years in the near future.

Yet, in the face of Suren and Lansendel, such a presence behaved like an old grandfather wiping their butts.

Actually, no; Lansendel relied on his quick reactions, and he wasn’t afraid of AO at all.

Suren was the one the Supreme God AO had to handle with care—a major trouble.

Hill once again confirmed he definitely needed to be careful with this Moon Goddess, someone who could trap even herself, truly feared by everyone.

Wait, they were discussing matters together?

What matters?

Hill suddenly woke up.

Could it be that Lansendel’s utterly foolish idea involved Suren?

Could someone actually believe Suren’s advice was trustworthy?

Hill swallowed, looking at the attic with utmost admiration. How did Lansendel maintain his Neutral Good alignment? Did he have dual personalities, and while discussing matters with Suren, the one in charge of wisdom accidentally fell asleep?

Or was he using the peacock’s head at the time, transforming so much that even his brain shrank to the size of a walnut?

Impersonating other deities, he tried to turn himself into the actual Sun, not only deceiving the entire Toril but also awakening the original lord who couldn’t have awoken otherwise, then painstakingly watched as a large portion of his followers drifted to another’s influence.

Other than making the whole world realize he was a fool, Lansendel gained no benefit from this affair.

Deities even slightly related to the Sun are considered symbols of wisdom and intelligence in any world, except for Lansendel, who seemed to only inherit the heat.

Hill wanted to go chat with Terry but couldn’t leave just yet.

At least not until these two had left.

He stood up and glanced at the peak of the Sword Mountain Range to the south of the castle—just as Suren appeared, Silverywing had tripped at the entrance of the Dragon Nest.

He was probably trying to enjoy cocktails mixed by his son at the pub below.

But the moment Silverywing saw Suren, the Silver Dragon abandoned his son, scrambed up and dashed back to the Dragon Nest, deftly closing the door behind him.

Fortunately, since Terry was staying at Lynn’s mayorial mansion to learn bartending recently, he was completely unaware of the reality that his own father had forsaken him.

Silverywing would likely not venture out for several days, unless sure that Suren had left.

Hill thought about it, no matter how well-spoken the prior agreement was, when a mountain-sized hoard of Gold Coins appeared, no Golden Dragon could resist that impulse.

Even if Terry’s own mother was present.

Hill would definitely not forget the values of that Silvermoon Dragon Queen.

The only solution was to lock up both Terry and Silverywing during the incident!

Otherwise, even telling Terry that Hill could perform alchemical transmutation would be useless.

In a Dragon’s values, what Hill offered was one thing; they would certainly want what was in front of them as well.

The money tomorrow is great, the money today is even more tempting.

Even if there are 10,000 Gold Coins coming tomorrow, today’s single coin must also be mine.

Hill hesitated for a bit and then suddenly remembered Terry’s interest in maze formations.

He remembered he had promised to place a special one near the Dragon Nest for Terry.

Hill blinked and began to sift through his pendant’s storage and several space rings.

Playing in a maze might get boring after a day, but a maze with endless treasures could surely occupy the father and son duo to no end, and the Silvermoon Dragon Queen might even rush over to join the fun.

Hill summoned a large crystal plate and materialized the entire view of the Sword Mountain Range.

The peak housing the Dragon Nest had gradual slopes connecting to the mountain range on either side, although slightly different in size, all of which could indeed be used.

If it were just a simple maze formation, there was no need for high lethality. It could be completely surrounded with various types of trees for defense, and Hill could arrange a large circuit connected together.

Then Hill could have List who could directly communicate with the spirit in his pendant place new treasures inside the maze after several Dragons passed through, feeling he could surely keep them indoors for a month.

By that time, these young heroes, those who survive, would probably take their treasures and head home.

The things that Dragons like are what Hill finds least valuable.

But as good friends, Hill would at most let Terry discover he could convert Obsidian, something any Earth element lord could easily do.

Terry already thought Hill’s lineage was powerful; doing that was perfectly normal.

But letting them know more was out of the question, let these Giants believe Hill could only convert Earth Element Ore!

If discovered that he could convert metals, especially gold ore, Hill genuinely worried it could even draw the attention of the Nine-Faced Dragon God.

He definitely didn’t want to become a treasure over which the Giants would squabble.

”List,” Hill turned his head and addressed the summoned Tower Spirit, ”you might need to spend more time in the Sword Mountain Range in the coming period.”

After hearing Hill’s plan, List nodded and then shook his head: ”In that case, sir, you must connect a Weave of energy from that peak to the foothill maze and ensure that I can monitor every treasure placement spot.”

This expense shouldn’t be an issue for you, sir, and it doesn’t even need to consume the mithril vein where the Masha Core is located.

But sir, do you think Terry’s family can keep this secret?

Especially that Dragon Queen, who if disappears from her territory for a month, many Golden Dragons might become curious about her whereabouts.

Moreover, if there’s Thunder, the servant sent by the Platinum Dragon God to collect the Dragon Eggs will also notice.

This maze certainly won’t remain hidden from the Metal Dragons.”

Hill waved his hand resignedly: ”It’s okay, I’ll make the maze larger.

They’re all so familiar with each other, even if they encounter one another, they wouldn’t kill each other.”

Just use the types of ores I’m familiar with for defense. Also, there are the small pearls Bex and his ancestors used for packing stuff.”

Those I wouldn’t need anymore, with the Blue Water Pearls that Agleya gave me being hard to deplete.”

”Should I place a piece of Mithril or true Mithril every few days?” List looked at his notebook, cautiously asking, ”Sir, you have some thumbnail-sized chunks of true Mithril from when you were making the golem, right? And similarly large pieces of Mithril.

If they get a bit bored, these items might perk them up.”

Hill nodded in agreement: ”Good idea.”
