Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 719: Chapter 518 The Curtain Falls on Black Staff Kaelborn (Extra for Qin Feng abc)

Like the others, Hill watched Agleya, who seemed to be communicating with Marine Law.

He was somewhat concerned. The essence of Toril was not like separate threads as in Teraxil, but a massive web, and Marine Law was one or even several threads woven into this web.

By now, a part of Agleya’s Divine Power had probably fallen upon the web.

He spoke as calmly as possible, ”Agleya, be mindful of your Divine Power. When traversing Toril’s Weave, try to stick to the edges and be careful not to come into contact with other Laws.

You are not yet ready to compete with the more powerful deities of Toril for control of the Weave. It’s better to steer clear.”

Especially stay farther away from that mess in the very center!

Otherwise, who knows if Agleya’s Divine Power would get entangled during the Weave’s reconstruction after Mystra’s fall?

Agleya was just an avatar in Toril, and in reality, she was too far away to naturally reach this stage.

However, the connection that had been established through the once intact Star Gate was still there.

The only problem was that the destruction of the Star Gate had caused a massive explosion, and the star paths would be unstable for some time, making it difficult to establish a stable channel again.

But when it came to solidifying Divine Power, Agleya was still slightly behind the deities of Toril.

Hill did not have a deep memory of the destruction of Mystra.

That part of the story was not very popular.

But he did remember that many deities suffered because of their tight connections with Mystra.

The only benefit from that incident was reaped entirely by the two Primordial Goddesses—Silvermoon Su Lun regained her powerful Divine Power, and the Lady of the Night, Shaer, was exceptionally satisfied with the plane she inhabited and the Shadow Demon Network she had constructed.

The rest of the deities were left with nothing but troubles.

Including Cyric, who instigated it all, gained nothing and ended up imprisoned.

Agleya looked up, her aqua eyes shimmering, seemingly swirling with billows.

She answered somewhat absentmindedly, ”Okay, Hill’s Dad, we got it.”

A few minutes passed before Agleya’s gaze regained its liveliness, and Marine Law left her.

”Hill’s Dad!” she said with great joy, ”The marine authority from Talos has all been transferred to me. There’s still a bit on Ambori since she created the Sharkmen, and their faith can’t just be severed.

Unless we annihilate this race.

But I’ve refused to make the Sharkmen the target of a massacre.

Our goal is just to establish ourselves in Ferun, right? Dad?

I always remember that as long as our domain here is safe, that’s enough!

My aim isn’t to completely own the seas of this world.”

Seeing Agleya not tempted by such absolute power, Hill nodded with a smile. One of Agleya’s greatest advantages was her lack of greed.

The Toril Universe is indeed a world that easily binds foreign deities to its chariot, after which they can no longer escape.

If Agleya truly became the Sea God of Toril, her power would undoubtedly become immense, but from that point on, she would also become a puppet to the Tablets of Fate.

Hill was adamant that he did not want his beloved daughter to end up with such a fate.

A little connection was enough, just like the World Tree Pantheon. Although there are lineages in this world, they just skim the surface.

At least when it comes to making decisions, whether right or wrong, they are their own to make, unaffected by that broken tablet.

Hill agreed wholeheartedly with Agleya, ”Of course, we initially established a connection with the Toril World merely to not waste the power of this avatar.

This much is sufficient; there’s no need for total annihilation.

As for Ambori... as long as she doesn’t cause trouble, we naturally won’t seek her out.

She can no longer pose any trouble to us, and as outsiders, it’s best not to be too ruthless.”

Agleya is really maturing!”

Hill thought helplessly, but whether a greatly weakened Ambori could survive the schemes of her enemies and successfully transition to the god of the Sharkmen remained to be seen.

Upon hearing Hill’s praise, Agleya beamed instantly, ”Of course! I am the child most like Hill’s Dad! Hmph, hmph, hmph!”

Hill couldn’t help but sigh.

He knew exactly who Agleya was comparing herself to.

Alice must have done something good again to let Agleya know about it.

When Agleya occasionally contacted the main body, they likely exchanged quite a few rumors.

But no matter what Alice was up to now, at least she was not in any danger to her life, and besides, she was in a world inhabited by the Undead, ensuring her safety.

She couldn’t possibly cause more trouble than the Undead Tribe had concocted.

At most, she would stir up some incident, but as long as she was okay, Hill no longer wished to inquire.

Hill had already realized that the nature of Alice was also chaotic and should she one day completely abandon her identity as a Spirit of Nature, he would be thankful if she could even maintain her goodness.

Alice was actually a bit indifferent.

Her true nature, in fact, closely resembled that of a cat, for beneath her benign cuteness lay a fiercely concealed streak of ferocity.

However, when she had support, Alice would actually still prefer to lie low and live off her charm.

It was Agleya, on the other hand, whose heart was indeed a little kinder. She could see the suffering of ordinary people and was very willing to lend a hand.

Looking at Agleya with her guarded eyes, Hill waved his hands helplessly and began to laugh.

Let’s just continue to eat, no need to say anything more.

Hill’s territory, at last, achieved temporary tranquillity, for Kelben’s attention could not be focused on him all the time.

Many true enemies had already arrived at Deepwater City waiting for his downfall!

Those who were well-informed probably understood that this was Kelben’s last hurrah.

Taking the opportunity, Hill went to a farm outside Silvermoon City, retrieved the crops stored in the warehouse by the Puppets, and released some chickens, ducks, cows, and sheep to grow freely on the farm.

Hill checked the farm’s defenses and found that indeed, someone had tried to enter the farm in his absence.

Whether they wanted to steal something or do something else, the final fate of these thieves was to be thrown into the Array used for trash disposal by the Puppets.

Hill had not expected that his Puppets would dispose of the invaders killed by the Array in this manner.

But that Array, with a temperature high enough to melt steel, was indeed quite suitable for destroying all traces of a corpse.

Hill, without batting an eyelid, replenished the overly consumed Array and also placed some Crystal Stones into the small Storage Box the Puppets carried.

If a formidable enemy really emerged, the Puppets would warn Hill.

By the time all those Crystal Stones were consumed, he should be able to arrive in time.

If it was too late, the Puppets would turn into spherical shapes, hide along a completely destructible pipeline into deep underground spaces with no other entrances, and wait for Hill to retrieve them.

For Hill, everything else was dispensable.

Hill did not enter Silvermoon City, but he noticed that the once harmonious Silvermoon City seemed to have developed rifts.

Or rather, the influx of a large number of outsiders from the Silvermoon Alliance had led to the emergence of arguing voices in the peaceful city.

From afar, Hill watched the Elves and Humans starting to argue, and the onlookers who had already begun to segregate, and he sighed softly.

When he was here last year, even if the people of Silvermoon City were rubbernecking, they were mingled together.

Today, Elves stood next to Elves, Dwarves and Gnomes clustered together, and Humans loosely formed into groups, eyeing each other with less than friendly gazes.

Only the Puzzle Lock that rendered people utterly incapable of using Mana and powerful Skills, and that Supreme Lady Elaströ who sat high in the tower, kept these tumultuous undercurrents firmly suppressed.

Hill knew that for a while, it was best not to go to any city.

If even Silvermoon City had become like this, then The North and perhaps even the whole of Ferun Great Land were like ticking time bombs.

He decisively returned to his Floating Castle and began to spend his days in the Alchemy Laboratory.

Rather than concern himself with those messy affairs, Hill thought it better to study the Magic Ships of this world, for as someone who didn’t want too many crew members, he would do well to integrate Magic Ships with Golems.

Spring passed quickly, and early summer had arrived.

Hill’s joyful alchemy life could only come to an end amid violent disturbances from the distant East.

This Mana fluctuation, which lasted almost a day, finally ended with silver flames that scorched the skies.

The instant Silverfire was ignited, the small town’s few inhabitants made an enormous uproar, with everyone shouting, wanting to know what had happened.

The Low-level Professionals of Ferun were still left out of the loop.

Standing on the terrace, Hill watched people from the Harpists running wildly inside and outside the building: Black Staff Kaelborn and the silent Archmage Ulyer had both fallen in the battle for the city.

Hill was not interested in the future of that city; his gaze was directed towards Deepwater City in the south, where Kael’s Soul should have already returned to that black Magic Wand.

But it was uncertain how much of what he had plotted would actually come to fruition.

Deepwater City soon descended into chaos.

Many who had once followed the Mage Lord did not hesitate to abandon the city, planning to settle in the city that had already been named ’Remanx’ – the City of Hidden Hope.

Deepwater City, actually always known as the City of Radiance, while the meaning of Remanx was indeed the City of Hope.

Kaelborn apparently really believed that Remanx was his future, and unhesitatingly left the Deepwater City where he had lived for years.

Even though he still needed the Black Staff Tower of Deepwater to protect his Soul.

Hill truly thought that the Tablets of Fate had amplified Kael’s inner desire for power, eroding a part of his sanity.

Otherwise, had he been so mad before, the Goddess of Magic, despite her whimsical ways, would not have chosen him as her Chosen.
