Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 701: Chapter 500: Lynn Hurries Over

Hill suspected that it was an avatar of the Earth Elemental God Valley Lanba. Reaching level 25 was not something every Element Lord could easily break through, and Hill felt that purest divine power of the Earth.

The Earth element lord and his companions added earth to themselves, eventually becoming a two-story-high stone person, running around in the Sword Mountain Range.

Hill could only be glad he had chosen not to let these elemental spirits leave the range of the Puzzle Lock.

Looking at that big stone person eager to climb the highest peak, Hill gently poked him in the Mental Sea.

Being quietly stared at by Hill, who stood on the balcony, the presumed Valley Lanba calmed down, appearing as steady as a mountain.

In the Mental Sea, Hill chanted silently: ”The eternal Valley Lanba, perfect and unchanging.”

The big stone turned its head and walked to the other side of the Sword Mountain Range to admire the scenery.

It left Hill with only these words: ”All that is what those so-called believers themselves say; I do not need to follow their imaginations.

The Earth never remains the same.”

Hill helplessly welcomed him: ”You can enjoy playing here, but if you want to have fun, try not to exert power beyond level 22.”

Valley Lanba cheerfully agreed.

He disliked paying attention to those human believers, never accepted their faith, but sometimes, he was moved by their sincerity.

But for some reason, these humans always ascribed so many characters to them, so even when Valley Lanba occasionally responded to their calls, he found it boring and had no desire to communicate with them.

The Earth is indeed substantial, but it never stays the same, nor does it mean it dislikes fun.

Having such a high-level random summon that allowed him to make his way, Valley Lanba felt exhilarated and seized the opportunity.

This was rare indeed! It was good that the magician had an Earth System constitution, able to summon the Earth Element across two additional levels.

Even if these Elemental Gods pressed down their levels, they were always at level 25; the others just fell short by 2 levels, only able to watch Valley Lanba joyfully come to the Prime Material Plane.

Although prevented from seeing the Dragon Egg, Valley Lanba still carefully observed the magician who summoned them, no wonder he implied in the Mental Sea that he appeared as a Nature Mage.

That natural scent all over him!

The God of the Fire Element, Kashus, shouldn’t hope for a chance in the future; this magician will definitely not summon him!

Valley Lanba very cheerfully twisted his stone waist, there seemed to be an interesting ore below, and he wanted to see if it could be converted.

Hill glanced at Valley Lanba merging into the mountain range, only feeling fortunate that he had embedded the mithril box containing the Masha Core into the Magic Array.

Even if Valley Lanba could get in, as long as he stepped into the Magic Array, Hill would be alerted by the alarm.

This deity would probably not be so idle either.

Wait, Hill suddenly realized.

Compared to the brilliant white crystal below, Valley Lanba probably preferred obsidian.

Hill stared blankly for a while, noticing that the grey-black stone person reemerging had already turned a deep black.

Luckily, Valley Lanba still had some sense; he covered it up superficially, as obsidian would be shinier than his current black, possessing a special texture under the sunlight.

Hill sighed, only choosing to turn a blind eye and returned to his room.

At least his territory was absolutely safe; if Talos really came, he would definitely have a bad end.

With Agleya on the water and this avatar of the Earth Elemental God on the land.

Now, Hill could leave for a while without any worries.

Hill hoped to receive Lynn’s reply soon. He would definitely reject it, but needed to choose the attitude of the reply.

At least the other party had invited Hill using the tone of kinship; when he refused, he also needed to behave more solemnly.

For the very self-esteem-centered elves, a single wrong word could turn into eternal enmity.

Hill did not fancy such unanticipated disasters.

As Hill waited for the reply, what arrived was a dusty Lynn.

Surprised, he put down the Levitation Disc to welcome Lynn into the castle, filled with questions.

”Hill,” Lynn, not caring to admire the beautiful small castle, hurriedly asked, ”You haven’t replied, have you?”

”No,” Hill responded slowly, ”I wanted to ask what this is about, especially since they come from Eternity Island.”

”That’s good,” Lynn sat down on the long sofa, relieved, turning to look at the spacious hall, ”Is this hall so high because of that little golden dragon? When did you meet him?”

”Back in Silvermoon City,” Hill did not specify when, ”Terry was being hunted by the Dragon Worship Church, and I saved him.”

”Is it really the child of Velara Malendith?” Lynn’s tone became a bit serious.

Hill nodded, puzzled: ”Yes! Last time, Terry’s father, the Silver Dragon People, came directly to the pub to find him; the Harpist should know very clearly, right?”

Lynn laughed, ”Hill, even though they are Harpists, the people of the God of Singing, Miliel, and those of Mystra are different.

They will send us messages, but they will be mixed with a lot of rumors, and we need to discern for ourselves.”

Hill couldn’t help but laugh, as he had thought the organization of the Harpists was very close-knit!

No wonder that Melikai’s Wood Elf Priest has not yet arrived, nor do the people from the harpist’s branch down below seem anxious.

It seems that their affiliations are not the same; these must be the subordinates of the Goddess of Magic.

”So you did indeed allow Melikai’s people to build a temple, did you?” Lynn continued to ask.

”Yes,” Hill smiled faintly, ”Agleya does not need that much faith power. So anyone is fine, of course, as long as they are from a kind alignment.”

Lynn lowered his head, asking in a stagnant tone, ”Then are you also truly from another world? Your heritage?”

”My maternal grandmother was a mix of Gold Elves and Moon Elves, and the elf part of my bloodline all comes from the Gold Elves.

But this branch indeed isn’t from Toril, yet the faith sill follows Coron,” Hill said with a smile.

Lynn had probably had a tough year, when Agleya appeared, those in the know like him must have realized she came from another world.

Although Agleya was recognized by Toril, Lynn cared more about Hill’s identity, not wanting to be deceived.

”Natural patrons do not lie, Lynn,” Hill said sincerely, ”We might omit some details, but whatever we say is the truth.”

Lynn breathed a sigh of relief.

During this period, his correspondence with Hill definitely had not ceased, but his doubts had grown, peaking when Hill easily overcame Ambori with Agleya’s help.

Lynn had practically become impatient and had simply come over himself after receiving a letter from Hill.

He should have thought that even if Hill, who came from a forest that does not communicate with the outside world, he wouldn’t have vanished soundlessly given his power as a Mage despite his young age.

But as long as he is kin, his sincerity hadn’t gone to waste.

”What about the letters they sent you?” Lynn changed the subject.

Actually, Hill had always been nice to him, and Lynn could feel it, so just making sure Hill had not lied to him was enough to rejuvenate Lynn.

List brought the letters directly from the study.

”Lynn, this is my Tower Spirit, List,” Hill introduced, ”Marsha is under his command, handling external affairs.”

Lynn nodded at List, unable to suppress a smile, ”I was wondering, being of human noble descent, how you chose a female Tower Spirit.”

Nobles usually have stewards of the same gender, and it’s rare to see otherwise; to mages, a Tower Spirit is their steward.

He looked down at the content of the letters, sighed and said, ”These elves, they have already been rejected by many of their kin.

Having left for too long and being too dispersed, most elves no longer desire to re-establish a powerful Elf Kingdom.

Only these individuals, who never forget the glory of their ancestors, still wholeheartedly wish to return to those powerful days of old.

It’s impossible.

The humans of the Toril world would unite to prevent the emergence of another unified, powerful Elf Kingdom, even if they were beaten into Gnolls.

Ultimately, Mistral will only remain a city, not becoming a nation.

And the city lord would just be a Fey Demon, not an Elf.”

He handed the letter back to Hill, ”While we admire their courage and persistence, we will not participate.

Elven races simply cannot unite anymore, not even Coron holds such hope.

It’s just the ambition of some young people; don’t get involved.”

Hill curiously asked, ”What do they want from me?”

”Without Goddess Agleya, would you fear Ambori?” Lynn countered.

”With faint divine power, I’m not afraid,” Hill responded bluntly, ”It wouldn’t help even if Ambori came himself.”

”If you wanted to be the lord of Mistral City, who would dare contend with you?” Lynn sighed, ”They hope you would suppress those Fey Demons.

But the main combat forces are clearly the fairies! Think about how much it would cost you to subdue them!”

Hill shook his head, ”But I don’t want to be any city lord! Even if I went, so what?

I’m not that interested in the city, I just want to see the styles of those ancient buildings.”

Lynn laughed, ”That’s why this Crusade of theirs will end up with everyone just going back home after having their fun.

They think the city lordship of Mistral is what they aspire to, assuming that once you’re there, you’ll surely be tempted.

Not much ill intention, but definitely not endearing.”

Hill slowly nodded, ”The days on Eternity Island seem very comfortable.”

I think such things are great, you’d surely want them too.

Such strange thinking only comes from having too good a life, from guys who never have to consider others’ feelings.”

Lynn understood, showing a faint smile, ”The fact they could come out is them being sent by Eternity Island to face a harsh reality.”

The Fey Demons are their reality.
