Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 745: Chapter 544 William’s Letter

The people who were swimming in a mess and incidentally having a water fight sped up and rushed over as soon as they noticed Hill using Divine Arts.

In order not to press face against their comrades, they also employed quite a few skills, really needing a mana refill!

They’d rather run into a solid board than smash into their neighbor’s teeth!

Even within the tornado, there were still many who started recording!

If anyone was careless, they would be heading straight for the forum’s hot search.

Hill really had a knack for dealing with them—the tornado moved erratically and changed directions up and down!

It was easy to get rolled up together accidentally.

Those with worried expressions felt as if they had collided with something they shouldn’t have, though what exactly they had hit, they weren’t sure!

Those who weren’t struck reveled in their swim, planning to return and thoroughly review their spoils of war.

Anyway, Hill’s purpose had been achieved.

If he was to suffer a social death on Toril, these members of the Undead Tribe would have to accompany him in appearing on the forum.

Hill certainly didn’t believe that the concern for him would surpass their pleasure in teasing their own kind.

Hill caught sight of the long-missed Snow Cloud Peak, and he, along with some others, exchanged greetings with Lynn and the others. The leader of the Seraphs stood aside to introduce them.

Baldy and his friends were called over by the Silver Shield.

Hill also came to understand who had such insight to rescue the group of Paladins.

Only then did he vaguely recall that people from the Black Rose had indeed stood by his side.

Then, since all the Gods and the Chromatic Dragon Queen were watching that place, Hill couldn’t sneak into the Star Gate—he had planned to sail directly into it with his small boat.

The Black Rose had probably wanted a ride on Hill’s boat, but it ended up ruined when Agleya rushed over and destroyed it.

Then, they were unfortunately sucked into the shattered Star Gate as well.

It might not have been so unfortunate, given that they chose to take on the form of Half-Elves, who are closer to the Human Race; it meant they had struck it rich in the world of the Undead.

This must have earned them early favor. Tyr might even accept them into the ranks of the Righteous Knights.

Well... assuming they don’t know that this family primarily rides pigs.

”Have the people of the Black Rose been in Teraxil this whole time?” Hill asked Agleya, who was seated next to him.

”Ah?” Agleya reflected for a moment, then nodded and said, ”Yes. Most of them went back to Teraxil and often visited our home.

After the Monster Nation disbanded, many Magical Beasts that left our valley without much ambition just returned to stay in it.

The Undead from Teraxil then went to make contracts with them again.

It seems like the priests and swordsmen of the Black Rose are very fond of Wolverines and Honey Badgers. They’re searching every day.”

Hill hesitated for a moment before saying, ”Perhaps it’s because their Wild Boar Legion is too numerous?”

The Duchess’s family alone should be enough to form an army of ten thousand with just their marriages and offspring.

Hill remembered the last time he met them, and they said that their family was already that big; they wouldn’t build affiliate legions like Snow Old Dog did.

The Black Rose probably had no other Magical Beasts available for contracts; even the tigers wouldn’t do it. Baldy stayed only out of spite.

Only the badgers wouldn’t mind.

Everyone could emit a stench, so no one feared the other.

Most of the Undead Tribe didn’t care about any welcoming ceremonies. After enjoying Hill’s mana-restoring grand move, they quickly rushed into the town.

Perhaps knowing they were in Hill’s domain, the Undead still showed some restraint, sparing the residential area.

But shops and inns were visited by successive waves of spectators.

The only regret they had was that they couldn’t buy anything since they hadn’t had time to exchange their money.

Marsha was still so fierce; not even Teraxil’s Gold Coins were acceptable.

List had gone downstairs as well, helping entertain the Undead with nothing else to do by ushering them into the Alchemy Hall to rest while waiting for new tasks.

Hill gently opened the box in his hand, which contained only a thick letter and a Magic Tower core, surrounded by the power of the God of Time and Space.

He unfolded the letter in the breeze:

Hill, upon opening this letter, I hope you are well.

These words should have been spoken to you in person, but unfortunately, I cannot cross into Toril.

Please allow me to offer my deepest apologies.

I was wrong about Alice.

You must understand, given your concern for the Human Race, why I did what I did concerning matters related to them.

However, as a friend, I forgot that some things at least warrant a heads-up.

But do believe, Hill, neither I nor the God of Nobility truly disregarded Alice’s life.

He only wanted to drive a wedge between you and the Magical Beasts.

I thought by the time the God of Nobility’s plans came to fruition, Alice would have ascended to the Divine Kingdom.

We both forgot, though, that schemes are not exclusively our domain.

The world doesn’t revolve only around us.

Please forgive my arrogance; as a friend, I truly made a mistake.

I understand that your anger means you truly regarded me as a friend.

If it had been only Arturas’s doing, you wouldn’t have been so angry.

Although it’s a bit embarrassing, I must tell you that at that time, I must have already been eroded by the poison of faith.

I always felt that if the God of Time and Space was fine, I should be too.

But after all, I am not him.

Time and Space is a true Innate Deity, and I am not.

Like the God of Nobility, I can also be considered a god risen from faith.

What Time and Space could do, I had to be very careful with, but I was negligent, and naturally, the result was miserable.

It wasn’t until I was in Felunryel, under Naven’s advice, that I faced my own foolishness.

I actually returned to Teraxil ahead of time; the God of Time and Space directly dragged me back. Stripping a soul is truly painful.

I had thought I could apologize to you in the next world, but then I didn’t expect something like the Star Gate explosion to happen.

I am glad that you are safe and sound.

Learning of your whereabouts from Goddess Agleya, I was truly relieved. Although you’ve always been lucky, this world fears accidents the most.

So, Hill, although exploring is important, you must also take good care of your own safety.

I still hope to see the lively you bouncing around in Teraxil.

This time Coron wished for the Undead Tribe to go to Toril, and after some contemplation, I agreed.

Although I’ve cut off the God of Nobility’s grip on the beastmen, there are still some grudges that need to be settled.

Toril is suitable for that, as most beastmen there are part of the Chaotic Evil Faction, and I really hope the Undead run into them more.

The gift enclosed with this letter is from the God of Time and Space; upon hearing about your domain from Coron, he prepared it for you.

Though the Undead Tribe can be troublesome, as long as they are well-controlled, they can still be of help.

To us still in Teraxil, as long as you and Agleya are safe, we don’t really care what the Undead can stir up in Toril.

After all, that world hardly has any order to speak of.

They could even bring about apocalypse, a great terror, with the deities of the goodness alignment!

Compared to the locals there, the Undead are actually quite decent; they’re just a bit numerous.

Of course, I believe that by now, you must have seen the brand-new Undead, especially those who resemble humans; they are actually Half-Elves.

Coron says that the humans of Toril are very unpleasant, completely different from those in Teraxil, so it is best to change their image.

Both Time and Space and I think that he feels the Undead and the Elves are similar.

Know that because of turning into Elves, many of the Undead think they can settle into the Chaotic Faction.

Of course, such a terrifying thought has been completely stopped by us, but I hope you can help keep an eye out, as the angels sent by Coron are particularly unreliable.

Keep those with large wings well away from the Temporal Artifact; sometimes I think their stupidity is contagious.

Moreover, when the Undead go to that world, they must also abide by the rules of Toril, that is, the Weave.

Coron, as the God of Magic from the Elves, helped us redefine the professions and magic.

Of course, on the Undead’s side, it’s a big change in rules after the universe has changed.

They now have two templates, Toril and Teraxil.

Of course, there are still differences from the locals in Toril; I don’t know how Coron managed to make the Goddess of Magic step back, but the Undead’s use of magic is not according to the rules there, but according to spell slots.

However, their levels have all been reduced; the highest among the Undead is now only level 15, which is the price for changing bodies.

Those who don’t want to change can stay in the original worlds, but basically no one chooses to stay.

Hill smiled wryly, thinking it’s as if the game has been updated. To access the new maps, one must switch to the new magic panel.

Although it was initially only the magic-based professions that needed changes, to keep balance, all profession skills have been altered.

But if they fully converted to the professions of this world, the Undead probably wouldn’t notice the difference.

The professions in Toril are incredibly diverse, and Coron’s knowledge is sufficiently rich to develop dozens or even hundreds of them for them.

”Sir!” List suddenly interrupted his contemplation, ”The Undead have deployed Alignment Detection in the commercial street!

A few pirates from Luskan have been surrounded.”

”Didn’t William instruct them not to do such things in Toril?” Hill stood up in surprise.

”I checked with that artifact; only the tavern and the streets are off-limits. But the Undead took action in a coffee shop. And, sir, as you know, those pirates have quite foul mouths.” List revealed a bitter smile, ”Sir, you need to deal with this. The Holy Knights of Tyr definitely won’t let those people go without saying a word.

To have them cornered like this, preventing the Undead from taking action, is already very difficult for them.”

”What about the Elf Crusade?” Hill flew off in a hurry, setting aside the letter in his hand.

”They have been held up by those angels,” List replied with frustration. ”That Divine Envoy of Coron, the one who loves going all out against evil, that impulsive one.

I believe it was his doing that the Undead took action; he might have handed out some quests.

Otherwise, the Undead wouldn’t have caused trouble on their first day.”
