Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 297: Chapter 100: Hill Gently Pushes Open the Legendary Door

Although Adrian taught very meticulously, there were always some who listened carelessly.

They did not think Fran would innovate much, and with this minor change, they could understand it with just a little thought.

Therefore, they did not notice Adrian’s disdainful gaze at all.

There were always some who listened attentively. Adrian thought indifferently, as long as some understood, that was enough. After all, he just needed to see if those few who listened attentively understood before he could proceed to the next step.

Since you’ve come all this way, why not listen carefully? Wondering why they wasted time daydreaming, Adrian felt their path as mages was likely at its end if they couldn’t even realize this.

However, Adrian had always thought that those sent to learn about the palace’s magic arrays from him must at least be at the Magister level.

But among these dozens of people, there were only two Magisters, a dozen Archmages, and the rest were all Mages.

It seemed that William wasn’t very satisfied with the original high-level mages.

Adrian wondered if it was because those people were more influenced by the Mage Association. William was already severing the Mage Association’s influence over Saral.

William really knew how to plan ahead!

After conducting a tour of the entire Royal Palace with this group of mages, Adrian brought various tree images and information in front of the ginkgo tree.

In the future, all the plants in the palace would be controlled by this massive Treant.

The only requirement William had for the garden was that all plants in the palace must be selected by the ginkgo before planning.

Adrian quietly watched the ginkgo tree, flipping through the album with two slender branches.

After carefully selecting, the ginkgo tree earnestly asked Adrian whether it could ask Hill to summon some Wood Elemental Spirits to help after planting these plants. Just enduring one day would ensure that no plant in the palace would have problems; it also longed to enjoy the feeling of being embraced by nature again.

Adrian could only earnestly reply that it would be up to the king to decide. After all, requesting a high-level Nature Warlock to plant trees would indeed cost a different price. It depended on whether His Majesty the King was willing to pay.

Adrian silently thought about the fact that the decoration of the King’s Hall and the bedroom would still take three days. During this period, William would still have to reside in this tree.

Instead of worrying about some vibrant black hues, better to think about how to fulfill his own Treant’s needs!

This would be Saral Royal Palace’s most powerful guardian in the future, of course, that is after William departed for the starry skies.

While Adrian planned a big business deal for himself, Hill was still immersed in his training.

His spare time was also spent on reading.

His recent research into Wind Spells made him realize that without the World Will’s bias and the fortune bestowed on him by the Natural Consciousness, he would have never discovered so many Magic Runes.

Indeed, as he reached later stages, these runes, possibly pre-existing, seemed to have opened a door closed for hundreds of thousands of years after Hill supplemented the first one, almost automatically leaping into Hill’s Mental Sea.

Hill had merely touched the key to this door.

He needed to overcome the flaw of his limited knowledge, so now Hill was diligently reading, hoping to accumulate more knowledge.

He continually posted tasks to collect books, and the Undead Tribe was quite willing to collect books from various places to sell to Hill.

Hill went down to the Water Element warehouse. Since a branch of the World Tree from the Goddess of the Earth was planted underground here, all the high-level Water Elements had gone below.

Only the newborn Water Elementals were left here.

They could not bear to leave this Crystal Flower.

Hill did not know why, but he did not feel like moving this Water Element treasure into the World Tree, but Hill knew his feelings would not deceive him.

So he kept the warehouse arranged as it was.

Today, feeling that the Water and Wood Elements in his Mental Sea were saturated, he planned to eat a petal to purify the elements within his Mental Sea.

Hill gently communicated with this bicameral plant of Water and Wood Elements.

The Crystal Flower was probably too miraculous, so even if it had a long lifespan, it was difficult to awaken its consciousness. This one was no different, living possibly for tens of thousands of years but only able to faintly respond to Hill with answers to whether it felt pain or happiness.

Hill knew it might be due to his combination of both Water and Wood Elements, that he was a rare Nature Professional able to communicate with this plant. Perhaps even a high-level Druid wouldn’t be as strong as him.

Thus, while the old Turtle Demigod had possessed it for many years, he dared not transplant its branches. Hill, however, hadn’t had it long before he had already successfully grown two branches.

He gave one to Fran and planned to grow another one a bit larger to place inside an oak tree.

Even if separated from him, the branches of the Crystal Flower could never awaken their consciousness. This was probably a limitation set by the World Will.

Hill gently tore off a petal and then outside the cabin, cast a Water Element Divine Art and a Wood Element growth spell, letting these two spells softly drift into the cabin accompanied by Water mist.

This was a method Hill had figured out after a long time, the only way to allow the delicate Crystal Flower to withstand the casting of spells.

Hill returned to the Quiet Room, consumed the Crystal Flower, and quietly gazed at the swirling Mental Sea.

Then, with a thought, he felt movement from the pendant—Keith, the Wind Elemental Spirit, was stirring.

Hill watched Keith’s blue cocoon gently wriggling, gradually feeling that kind of ominous sign.

Hill summoned List and ordered him to shut down the entire valley and activate all the Magic Arrays. He even cut off contact with the town outside for the first time.

The tall mountains around the valley flashed with powerful golden light for the first time, and the various intersecting lights in the valley’s sky formed strange and mysterious symbols.

Gradually they converged into a Defensive Magic Barrier that even the power of deities could not penetrate.

This was the strongest power that the Magic Pattern, which had absorbed Elemental Power for many years within Hill’s Domain, could release.

After nodding to each other, List and Hill vanished. List had to fully prepare at the core.

Hill did not stay in the Quiet Room; instead, he walked barefoot to the center of the valley.

He felt Merkel’s presence, warning the magical beasts to stay at the farthest distance.

Cohen landed on a nearby tree, chasing away any birds that dared to fly too close.

Hill also felt the elements slowly gathering around him.

Two Element Lords and the clan leaders of both Wood and Water were also helping him control the scene.

The treants had moved over as well, unusually fast. So it seemed they were usually just too lazy to move.

For the magical beasts and magical plants, the ascension of a legendary nature warlock, gathered with a sufficient density of natural power, was enough to naturally promote them by one level.

The ordinary animals in Hill Valley were peeking from a distance. The animals, sensitive, knew that what was about to happen was of great benefit to them.

For Hill, surrounded by these plants and animals, it was easier to get closer to nature and to walk the path of legend.

Such mutually beneficial matters, Hill always prepared the final defenses for, then proceeded without hesitation.

Hill was someone willing to open his arms and embrace the world, just a bit timid, needing a couch to lean on behind him.

He took out Keith’s green cocoon and placed it to the west. He had the Wood Elemental Spirits stand to the east.

Water Elemental Spirits were positioned to the north, while Earth Elemental Spirits stood to the south.

The magical beasts, sensing Hill’s arrangement, quickly picked their positions based on where the elements were standing.

Finally, he took out the exquisite sphere containing the spiral pearls, and placed it on the fountain.

He quietly walked into his mental sea, feeling a vortex formed by the convergence of the elements.

Hill stood at this spot, feeling the surrounding of all four elements.

Then facing the northern fountain, he quietly sat down under a big tree.

He closed his eyes, sensing himself.

Hill controlled his mental sea, expanding it steadily and forcefully outward, allowing his aura to gradually blend harmoniously with the surrounding environment.

His spirit was ethereal and alert, yet his body was merging with nature, becoming one with heaven and earth.

The sky above Hill began to display a beautiful scene.

Mountains soared, forests emerged, a fine rain persisted, and wind carried the falling leaves.

The fine rain, gently blown by the breeze, was like a continuous mist, drifting in the valley.

Hill suddenly had an epiphany: ”Flowers bloom and fade through clear seasons, as years cycle and spring comes anew.”

No matter how the years turn, nature will always be filled with the hope of life.

Hill started smiling, just like the lines of poetry, ”Good rain knows its season, in spring it brings life.”

Standing on the earth, backed by a tree, with fine rain brought by a gentle breeze on him, he quietly began his legendary ascension.

Hill felt that he was standing at the center of the world.

In front, behind, left, and right of him were lines of Destiny, some long, some short, of various colors.

They intertwined with each other but then suddenly separated; amidst chaos, there was a unique order.

However, apart from the four lines tightly wrapped around his fingers, the other lines of Law avoided the spot where he stood.

Hill knew this was not the so-called true appearance of the world.

It was the embodiment of laws in his mind.

Yellow Earth lines, green Wood lines, blue Water lines, and aqua Wind lines.

Hill lifted his hand, looking at these four elements set in his mind, suddenly wanting to laugh; the color scheme was quite harmonious!

Then there was also a Line of Destiny on his body, linking to the outside world. Hill had only this one substantial line of Destiny, gently touched it, and with no doubt, he felt Fran’s presence.

This was the only person in this world entwined with him by cause and effect.

The other lines of Destiny were breakable dotted lines.

This indicated these people were related to Hill, but he wasn’t that important to them; if Hill no longer felt for them, these dotted lines would break on their own.

There was also a flickering line of Destiny, which Hill knew was the spiral pearl.

This spiral pearl owed Hill too much; if it didn’t settle its debts, it might turn into a thick golden Line of Destiny, making Hill a creditor to a deity.

Hill glanced indifferently and then paid no further attention.

Hill didn’t know how many lines of destiny other legendary beings could see, but he also understood why it was said that it’s best to settle all debts of gratitude and revenge before becoming a legend.

This black line was very heavy.

Just one, and Hill could feel the pull.

The four lines of Law in his hand dragged him towards the distant Starlight Gate, while the Line of Destiny pulled him backward.

If there were too many black lines of Destiny on him, the four lines of Law that Hill had would not be strong enough to pull him.

But at this moment, Hill was easily pulled to the Light Gate and gently pushed open the gate.
