Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 257: Chapter 63 The Sudden Attack of the Elf Princess_2

Then he helped himself to some pastries on a plate and poured a cup of juice.

”Did you sleep well?” Adrian asked with a smile.

”Such a strong sun!” Hill exclaimed.

Adrian laughed heartily.

”Kexlote has enhanced the power of the sun,” Fran said slowly, ”It’s been quite a while. Now, when many ordinary people greet each other, they say ’What wonderful sunshine, may you be in good spirits.’

Hill touched the pendant on his chest and thought of the spiral pearls in his territory.

Is the World Will trying to perfect its rules all at once?

Fran didn’t say much more. The World Will only does what is good for the entire world. The Wise Ones will offer a hand, rather than cause trouble.

”Just now, the King’s Messenger stepped through the first ray of sunlight to deliver an invitation to us,” Adrian said with a laugh, ”In three days, His Majesty the King will hold a celebration for Saral.”

Hill couldn’t help laughing, ”No wonder the elves are in such a hurry.”

”For that little princess, if she can’t hook up with you before the Divine Vein Princess arrives, she might really have to settle for that fool from the Mage Association,” Adrian said soberly, ”And you have an Elven Bloodline, which makes you the best choice for her.”

”Even if that Divine Vein Princess fails, she can still return to the Forest of the Elves, right?” Hill was more curious about this.

”Impossible,” Fran denied, ”She was so impulsive yesterday, nearly fighting to the death, precisely because she knows this. The Royal Family of the Forest of the Elves has no room for failures.”

”How can elves be so harsh?” Hill couldn’t help but ask.

”Striving for perfection!” Fran said sardonically, ”Failure is the greatest imperfection.”

”So, if His Majesty the King doesn’t take the bait, she will also make a move on Hill?” Adrian even felt some sympathy for Hill.

”His Majesty the King made the order when that princess had only passed through two countries,” Fran said with a cold smirk, ”It’s already a polite rejection. If she takes her time and turns back when she reaches Noah, everyone can pretend nothing happened.”

If she insists on going before William, the only excuse would be to attend the celebration. Hill thought to himself that unless the Legendary Mage flies over at full speed.

”Weren’t you moved by that princess’s all-out effort yesterday?” Adrian asked gossipingly.

”Why should I be moved?” Hill was puzzled, ”Her whole hearted sincerity was not directed at me. It was for herself! Sure, she’s pretty, but one can’t assume everything else is as beautiful!”

”Your thoughts always turn in strange directions at times like this,” Fran said helplessly, ”I hope someday you won’t be puzzled why the girl you like gets married to someone else.”

”Why would The Legend of Carl say that about me?” Hill felt there was something off in Fran’s words but didn’t dwell on it.

”His number of lovers is top-notch among all Legendary Mages,” Fran waved his hand dismissively, ”Never mind him. For Carl, being moved by beauty is just a natural reaction.”

”These few days, I will mostly complete the Magic Tower,” Adrian said, ”Do you plan to go out, Hill?”

”I’ll return to the valley in the morning, and in the afternoon, I’ll check out the Undead Tribe’s market,” Hill stood up, getting himself together, ”Don’t worry about me, I’ve got some good things that won’t be discovered.”

Fran couldn’t be bothered with them and shooed them away with a wave of his hand: ”Hurry up and get going.”

Hill had a pleasant three days; everything went smoothly in the valley, and players also managed to acquire quite a few nice things.

Unfortunately, when he returned in the evening, he heard the bad news: the Divine Vein Elf Princess had arrived.

”She just entered the Elves’ quarters,” Adrian said discontentedly, ”She brought more than a dozen Legendaries, and nobody was notified; they just flew in directly over the Western Mountains.”

”Does His Majesty the King know?” Hill asked.

”He does not,” Adrian replied gravely, ”But the Royal Palace activated its defenses half an hour before that group arrived.”

Thus, that group must have flown over from the other side of the Western Mountains.

That mountain range is considered the highest near the Saral Tri-Nation and Fran once said that it was one of the tallest mountains on the entire continent.

William’s power could not surpass the mountain range to reach the other side; it was likely that he only discovered these elves crossing the mountains as they were nearing Saral’s borders.

Hill frowned. Was this a show of force to William?

After discovering William’s disdain for elves, did they wish to intimidate him?

To display their strength and to arrive before the celebration in a gesture of respect for William. The princess’s tact was rather fierce!

But William might not play along. Did they have even more forceful methods up their sleeve?

Hill looked up at The River of Time and Space: ”Elf Deity System?”

”Who knows what tomorrow may bring,” Fran instructed the two, ”Be fully prepared.”

”In the Royal Palace, storage rings might not work,” Fran said with furrowed brows, ”That outfit Hill prepared is quite good, with plenty of pockets. You both go back and make some modifications, try to carry as many protective items as possible.”

Hill understood Fran’s intentions; both he and Adrian had many shells on hand. These shells naturally had only a few dozen square feet of space, but could fit into a Space Box.

That is to say, in the Royal Palace where storage rings are restricted, the items inside these shells might still be usable.
