Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 268: Chapter 71: From Now On, There’s Only Saral

Hill stared at the seed floating in his Mental Sea.

It flickered in and out of existence, swimming merrily through Hill’s Mental Sea.

This is the seed of the World Tree, right? It’s filled with the purest souls of the Moon Elves.

As long as Hill found a place to plant it, a World Tree called the Moonlight Tree would grow.

Then, Hill could just wait for Moon Elves to be born from it.

With a resigned, wry smile, Hill said, ”I can’t even tell Fran about this. From now on, it’s best to keep silent about this matter, not even a word in my sleep.”

He certainly didn’t want to become fertilizer for a Demigod.

No matter how good the relationship, the opportunity to become a true Deity is not something any Demigod would miss.

Right now, Hill isn’t even Legendary!

Plus, he never considered taking the path of the gods.

It is the same for innate Deities who do not require faith.

He still hoped to become Legendary one day and then follow in Fran’s footsteps to explore other worlds!

Truly becoming a Deity would burst all of that like soap bubbles, flying apart the moment they take off!

Hill felt his head swelling with a thunderous noise. If everyone hadn’t been stunned into a daze by the God of the Hunt’s astonishing act, Fran would surely have noticed something was off with him.

The Elven God King seemed to be planning another full-force strike against The River of Time and Space.

At this time, even the power of the God of Time and Space may not be strong enough to defend such a lengthy River of Time and Space.

This strike, which accumulated the power of all the Elven Deities, was caught steadfastly.

”Very well. God of Knowledge, God of Contract! Even the Goddess of Agriculture has arrived!” the Elven God King shouted angrily, ”Since you human Deities have all decided to be my enemies, let the war begin! Humans and Elves!”

No Deity paid him any attention.

Perhaps before the Goddess of the Hunt exposed his identity, human Deities like the Goddess of Agriculture, who disliked causing trouble, would not have intervened in this war.

But now that it is known he does not belong to this world, many things are not as they seem on the surface.

Preventing him from succeeding in his plan might be the best thing for this world.

In theory, though they paid a price, it could be considered a complete victory.

But at this moment, inside and outside the Royal Palace, no one cheered.

William bowed silently in the air towards the place where the Goddess of the Hunt had vanished, ”Although you were an enemy, please allow me to apologize for the harsh words I said earlier.”

He straightened up and turned to look at the Elf Legend still besieged by the Undead Tribe outside, ”I give you 10 minutes to flee. Those who do not leave will meet your Lord of the Moon Elves! The Goddess of the Hunt would not want to see you.”

The Undead girls beside Hill, some of them emotional, had already started crying softly.

They had thought the Goddess of the Hunt would boldly enter the Abyss and join the faction of the Evil Goddess before turning around to attack the Elven God King.

Instead, she chose to disperse completely.

Perhaps at that moment, she suddenly felt the bleakness of having no way forward and no way back.

The Abyss is too cruel for a Goddess who dreamt of becoming the ruler of the moon.

Although she had been led onto the path of the Evil Deities by her own folly and blindness, she did not wish to turn her back on this world forever.

After all, she was the first Moon Elf in this world! Once dearly cherished by the World Will.

The Undead outside also quietly ceased their assault.

All the Elf Legends quickly withdrew, rushing towards the western borders of Saral.

Only those who had been close to the Goddess of the Hunt, her confidants, did not choose to stand behind her; those outside are even less likely to do anything for her.

William sighed softly, ”Not one stayed to pay tribute to their God Master. It’s really oblivious living!”

Setting aside the Dwarves’ situation, the Forest of the Elves is probably not going to be peaceful.

Victorious William stood in the air.

At this moment, Hill could see countless rays of the Light of Faith converging upon him.

William’s aura visibly grew stronger.

But William transferred this faith power onto the tablet Divine Artifact and Scales in his hands.

He seemed to only intend to keep the power that would better align him with the rules after being reinforced later.

He had no plans to absorb this faith power, not even the purest faith filtered countless times by Young William.

He wasn’t leaving any trouble for himself at all!

This was Hill’s first time witnessing the composition of faith power.

In the past, he only saw a white light.

But now, he could see faint human faces within the faith power.

Hill shut his eyes.

He did not plan to utilize this Divine Fire.

He would continue on the path of a Mage first!

When one becomes Legendary, there is essentially no difference between a Magician and a Mage. He still wanted to follow in Fran’s footsteps.

William composed himself and spoke aloud with his head raised, ”Alright, let’s pull ourselves together! Victory is ours!”

Cheers, whistles, and the sounds of fireworks reigniting intertwined, setting the entire city ablaze with excitement.

In Hill’s smile, the Forest Array gently dissipated.

The massive ginkgo tree shook, grew hands, lifted feet, and opened a pair of large silver eyes.

She had become a Treant!

Hill didn’t intend to ask her name; as a member of William’s Royal Palace, she would only offer loyalty to the King.

For now, he just wanted to watch the festive scene and shift his mood.

The Undead Tribe had ignited a huge bonfire atop the ruins of the royal palace.

Knights and Swordsmen joyously threw the broken wood from William’s Royal Palace into the roaring bonfire.

William stood in the air with his hands on his hips, ”Wait, don’t burn those! They’re expensive!”

He waved at the attendants hiding outside, ”Come back quick and stop them. That wood is too costly to burn! Now, even the elves wouldn’t sell it to me!”

Amidst laughter and joyous voices, the somber atmosphere was swept away.

Girls with tear-stained faces ran up to the bonfire, cheering and dancing with light steps.

Soon someone took out musical instruments and played a victory song.

Fran, who had intended to leave, paused with a smile and watched as the young girls quickly formed a large circle, holding hands and stepping lively, twirling around the bonfire.

”Their world must be a wonderful place,” Adrian suddenly said, ”able to find joy at any moment.”

Snow Cloud Peak walked over slowly with his Puppet, ”Thank you very much! Master Fran’s Puppet was a great help.”

”With a Demigod here, it wasn’t much of a use, was it?” Fran waved his hand and retracted the Puppet.

”To William, it doesn’t make much of a difference,” admitted Snow Cloud Peak, ”But for us, it means a lot. The longer we can hold out before the Demigod intervenes, the higher the reward.”

”It really does mean a lot!” William suddenly descended, ”If we had lost badly, those sea monster Demigods might not have shown up. They wouldn’t come to our rescue in times of trouble but only add to our glory.”

”Your Majesty, are you going to rebuild the palace?” Fran inquired, ”Will it still be located here?”

”Of course,” William shrugged, ”My territory will only expand northwards in the future. At most to the highest mountain range in the west. I can’t take territory from the Magical Beasts.”

He laughed proudly, ”Kexlote will still be in the heart of Saral. Now, I don’t need to keep the names of those two countries anymore. From now on, there will only be Saral.”

As he made his declaration, Hill felt a tremor from the World Will.

He took out the Alchemy Map and the map of Saral had changed.

Previously, the names of the three countries still existed independently, but now, there was only Saral.

Both the Human Gods and the World Will acknowledged Saral’s new territory.

Haifasardo and Cortez, these two names will only appear in history books from now on.

William, as a monarch with actual power, was truly frightening.

The hearts of the people from Haifasardo and Cortez now acknowledged themselves as Saral People.

Only then did the World Will respond.

The Human Deities they worshipped also silently permitted William’s change.

Moreover, as long as William did not threaten the foundation of these Deities, basically no Human God would hinder him anymore.

The assistance of the usually silent Human Gods at this moment meant that from now on, the Gods of Time and Space had secured their position in the Starry Sky.

At this moment, William couldn’t contain his joy.

With the last of his rationality, he controlled himself, ran here, and then announced Saral’s comprehensive victory.

He left Haifasardo and Cortez with a dignified exit.

After bidding farewell to Fran and the others with a smile, William called over the Saral Legendary Knight and walked towards the ruins of the palace together.

Fran watched William’s figure disappear into the rubble before saying, ”Let’s go, we should head back too.”

Hill and the others passed through the festive crowd and the ceaseless stream of attendants and guards moving towards the palace.

Once outside the palace, the streets were filled with the Undead celebrating and setting off fireworks.

Seeing the packed streets, Fran said with a wry smile, ”Let’s walk back!”

In such high spirits, he didn’t want to make a spectacle of himself with the big Alchemy Carriage.

The Undead wouldn’t make way for the Alchemy Carriage; was he supposed to use a Spell to clear the way today?

The three, who had cast a spell to go unnoticed, briskly passed through the crowd and headed for Adrian’s Magic Tower.

Fran had no intention of meddling with the Magic Tower.

Even the Tower Spirit was set by Adrian; in the world of mages, this tower would henceforth only be known as Adrian’s Magic Tower.

As the three approached the Magic Tower, they could only chuckle upon seeing the space next to the tower ablaze with bonfires lit by the Undead Tribe.

The Undead guarding this district had taken a liking to the openness here; Adrian had not yet built his little garden.

The door to the Magic Tower was still firmly closed.

Adrian made up his mind, ”Tomorrow I’ll finish the garden and then lock down access to this area. The Magic Wall needs to be up too; I can’t let them get into the habit of coming here to play.”

The three sneaked past the laughing and dancing Undead and slipped through a small opening in the Magic Tower’s door that had been quietly unlocked.

Standing in the hall, Fran looked at the mages and apprentices rushing to greet them and suddenly laughed.

”Grandfather?”

”I never thought that upon reaching legendary status, I’d have to sneak back home,” he said with a sparkle in his eye, ”and I’m not even upset about it.”
