Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 277: Chapter 80 The Great Prairie of the Wolf Pack and Hill’s New Magic

Compared to the God of Smithing and Craft, the God of Nobility, that fellow who is quite fond of Elves, is even more trustworthy. The God of Nobility does not heed Elves,

or else this method of forging by killing Magical Beasts to extract their spirit would spread to the Human world, and humans would certainly be labeled as an Evil Faction by the World Will.

Hill could imagine that after humans learned this, they would start off proudly using the beasts from the tides that had lost their reason, but how dangerous that would be!

There would definitely be people who would kill those peaceful Magical Beasts who only wanted to live their simple lives.

And if that were the case, in this world, there would be no presence of a Neutral Good Alignment, only a complete tilt towards evil!

If it did not want to be thrown into the Abyss, the World Will would have no choice but to cultivate Magical Beasts!

The world would rather let Magical Beasts exterminate all humanoid creatures than descend into the Abyss with those who had fallen!

What had the God of Nobility heard that led him to originally stop the God of Smithing and Craft from expanding?

At that time, humans would have been very eager to obtain the Dwarves’ forging method. After all, back then, human Professionals were pitifully few.

According to historical records, the first Human Kingdom, the territory of Dionysio, began with just a small basin in the valley.

The God of Nobility was able to establish a state and also received quite a bit of help from Elves and Dwarves.

Hill stroked his forehead, slowly thinking, when did the God of Nobility start to view the God of Smithing, nurtured by Dwarves, as an enemy and firmly suppress craftsmen below the Noble’s status?

As a Demigod, why could the God of Smithing and Craft allow his status to become so utterly void?

The Mage Association and Sorcerer Tower did not even exist at that time!

Hill sighed; he felt that human history, with the involvement of Dwarves and Elves, was already chaotic enough, but now it seemed there might be others behind the scenes.

Although the God of Nobility was close with the Elves at the time, he did not fully ally with them.

Could it be that he wasn’t at an advantage compared to the God of Smithing and Craft, who was fully supported by the Dwarves?

Perhaps the Elves were just waiting for him to seek help, then humans would only become vassals to the Elves!

Yet, someone unknown aided the God of Nobility, suppressing the God of Smithing and Craft nurtured by Dwarves, but they did not stay long, or else the God of Nobility wouldn’t have been roped in by the Elves later.

But that was just being influenced, humans remained an independent species.

The Elves and Dwarves had to think of other means.

Limited by the World Will, they could not do much more, unless humans willingly fell into decadence.

They could only seduce humans into degeneration with other methods, chasing after days of indulgence.

But the beast tides preserved human’s high-level combat power.

The Elves and Dwarves had to use a far longer time to wear down human vigilance.

Unfortunately, just as the method of slowly corrupting humans started to show some effects, the God of Time and Space emerged out of nowhere.

Hill felt a bit of joy, for the World Will still seemed to favor humans.

So as long as humans maintained themselves and did not commit too many atrocities, the World Will would not allow Magical Beasts to grow so quickly that they could threaten human existence.

Hill looked through the window of the hut at the wolf pack outside, wondering if the White Wolf was aware of this or not?

Hill sighed and picked up another leather pouch.

And then he found that this was what the White Wolf truly intended to give him.

A Divine Artifact level Seed Pouch.

Hill’s spiritual power had just entered when he saw an endless number of small compartments.

Whichever compartment he focused on, it would display what type of seed it was, its use, and how it should be planted.

If Hill placed seeds inside, the Divine Artifact would automatically identify the type and move them into their dedicated compartments, determining the viability of the seeds.

Should new seeds be placed inside, Hill would have to communicate with the Divine Artifact to inform it about the details of these seeds.

The Divine Artifact would provide an initial planting method, and if Hill encountered any problems when planting in the outside world, the Divine Artifact would search its inherited memories for solutions.

This was an Elf Druid’s Divine Artifact.

Hill frowned, communicating meticulously.

As a Divine Artifact that had been used for many years, it quickly made clear that its owner, a Moon Elf Druid, did not die at the hands of the Wolf God.

Indeed, the Druid was severely injured in a sneak attack and after escaping into the wilderness, never recovered.

The Demigod Druid could have been dead for ten thousand years, with nothing left but bones and the silent Divine Artifact remaining in the wilderness.

Its external appearance was unremarkable; common Magical Beasts passing by wouldn’t show any interest.

Except for the nearly divine Silver Wolf.

When the Wolf God roamed past, he picked up this pouch.

But he had little desire to cultivate; after confirming it was a Seed Pouch, he just kept it stored away.

Hill was really helpless; did the Goddess of the Hunt know that her Demigod had died like this?

Back then, when the Deities could still descend to the world, a Demigod died and she did not look for them?

Hill suspected that even the Goddess of the Hunt might not have had full sway over the speech of the Moon Elves at that time. Many Moon Elves were not willing for her to have such close relations with these foreign Elves.

But at the end of the day, the Goddess of the Hunt was a Main God, and the Lord of the Moon Elves could only obey her commands.

So, these demigods could only leave the Forest of the Elves.

Then who killed him, the Elven God King or someone else?

It made it completely impossible for the Moon Elves to stand independently.

No matter if the White Wolf understood the World Will or not, it still stayed here for a full three days to shelter the packs of wolves that came seeking refuge from all over.

Hill didn’t plan to leave the cabin anymore, even though the White Wolf commanded the Water Element wolves to wash the bloodstains and remnants on the mountains every day, the smell of blood was still terrifyingly strong.

The moon on the last night seemed particularly bright.

The huge moon, almost hanging over the mountain peak, and the crouching gigantic White Wolf, its fur became silver under the moonlight, reflecting a ghostly glow.

With a pack of wolves standing all over the peaks, they howled mournfully at the moon.

They were recounting the sorrow and desolation of the Wolf Tribe over the millennia, and their eternal faith in the Moon Goddess.

Hill, looking at the wolves lying quietly under the moonlight, understood that the moment the sun rose tomorrow, the pack would set out to find their own territory.

And this place was probably already firmly set in the White Wolf’s heart.

He had originally planned to travel and gather the packs along the way, but he never expected that after ten thousand years, there were only so few high-level wolves left.

Hill silently waited until the first ray of sunlight gently sprinkled on the mountaintop, then packed up his cabin.

He landed gently beside the White Wolf, ignoring the restless pack that was spying on him.

The White Wolf glanced at Hill and commanded him to stay close, leading the pack to run swiftly.

They headed resolutely toward the North.

After running swiftly for half a day, the pack stopped in front of a mountain peak thousands of meters high. The White Wolf lifted its left front paw and gently tore open a camouflage.

The mountain in front of Hill split in two, revealing the narrow valley in between.

The valley was long; with Hill’s vision, he could barely make out the exit on the other side.

The White Wolf stepped forward, leading the pack slowly into the grass that was several meters high.

On both slopes of the valley lived large numbers of vultures, standing high and looking down at the pack with cold, hard eyes.

However, the wolf pack was too numerous, and the vultures circled for a long time but eventually did not swoop down to attack.

In this world of generally oversized animals, these vultures, with only about three meters wingspan, were no match for the wolf pack.

Flying creatures were not yet on the list of enemies for these terrestrial species.

Coming down would only mean death.

The birds lived long precisely because they could fly. This was probably also why they maintained their numbers.

Survival was the eternal pursuit of magical beasts.

On the other side of the valley lay a vast prairie with lush water grass and grazing animals everywhere.

The vultures were able to maintain such numbers probably thanks to the rabbits and mice that were everywhere here.

The arrival of the wolves frightened these timid animals, who after living carefree for so long, finally faced their natural predators again.

Hill walked beside the White Wolf, looking at the vast and pure prairie, and felt another kind of purity, which soothed his mood considerably.

The cold wind blowing out from the valley stirred his long hair, prompting Hill to look back in surprise.

Being shut off for many years, and now opened for the first time in ten thousand years, a strong wind rose in the valley, sending continuous whirlwinds into the prairie.

The White Wolf gestured for Hill to follow him on foot.

Its solemn demeanor made Hill understand that this was likely the territory of the Wolf God from ten thousand years ago.

Before perishing together with the Abyss, the Wolf God completely sealed off this great prairie.

Back then, the Wolf Tribe dominated the entire world and didn’t need this hiding place. He probably just wanted to leave a memory for his younger brother after a long period of seclusion.

Little did he know that ten thousand years later, it would become the only haven for the Wolf Tribe.

The White Wolf led the pack step by step, its body gradually emitting silver light.

The distant responding silver light told them that was their destination, the eternal home of the pack.

Hill followed quietly, a new spell emerging in his mind.

He had finally embedded the Wind Runes into the Blizzard.

The spell used to be a cold rotating mass of ice and snow, but now it was a sharp blade whirling within a tornado storm.

Hill quietly contemplated the Magic Model in his Mental Sea, marking down a mixed series spell for the first time.

During this time, no matter how Hill comforted himself or how many benefits he got,

he was still filled with resentment, as no one wishes to be a tool.

It’s also because of this that Hill, normally gentle and unlikely to awaken a terribly destructive spell, for the first time, actively awakened a Curse Forbidden Level attack spell.

Looking at this Magic Model, silently landing on his Magic Ring between the Wind and Water Elements, Hill knew that once he returned to his territory, he could consider advancing to Legendary.

Meanwhile, he also grasped another spell, the Ice Cone Technique: sending forth a fan-shaped cold wind that freezes enemies within a hundred meters.

Hill smiled quietly, feeling he was indeed a very interesting person.
