Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 248: Chapter 210: Rising Phase: 46

Walking out of Sitian Yu’s dressing room, Ren Su Min looked to the event’s planner and said, ”What about the other artists, isn’t there anyone who can go first? With so many artists, can’t someone step in and save the situation?!”

The planner, with a troubled expression, said, ”All the other artists already know that Xu Siyao and Sitian Yu refuse to walk the red carpet, none of them wants to go first.”

”Who else hasn’t walked yet, the list! If the red carpet stays empty, then nobody should walk it tonight!” Ren Su Min gritted her teeth as she spoke, ”Also, where is Xu Siyao’s car? Call her and ask if she really needs me personally to pick her up before her car can arrive!”

She took a list from her assistant and read through the names one by one.

”Order everyone responsible for coordinating with the artists to communicate again!” she commanded.

Soon, feedback started coming one after another.

”Su Yan says her makeup isn’t done yet, she can’t walk the red carpet.”

”Yuzhen Jiang said she hopes you can arrange a cover shoot for her.”

”Huaichun Gu has refused.”

”Lew Qingqing also refused.”

”Can’t get in touch with Ruxue Wei.”

...

One piece of bad news after another came back.

Ren Su Min’s face went completely dark.

”Zhou Yun said she can go.” Suddenly, a girl wearing black-framed glasses walked over quickly, bringing this good news, ”She can go now.”

Upon hearing this, Ren Su Min immediately ordered, ”Take me to her dressing room, I’ll personally escor her to the car, and also, tell Sitian Yu and Xu Siyao, if I don’t see them ready backstage after Zhou Yun walks the red carpet, then they don’t need to show their faces tonight!”

The person who received the order immediately turned around to deliver the message.

Ren Su Min personally went to Zhou Yun’s dressing room, smiling, she said, ”Thank you so much, dear, you really helped me out.”

”It’s okay, let’s go,” said Zhou Yun, beckoning to Jin Su to join her.

Ren Su Min personally escorted Zhou Yun to the car, with the red carpet area about fifty meters away.

At the red carpet, whispers and conversations were becoming more frequent, everyone turned their heads, talking about whether there was any backstage issue, wondering why the artists were taking so long to appear.

The host, who had been trying hard to warm up the crowd and alleviate the awkwardness, eventually ran out of things to say.

Even a social media live streamer said on their platform: ”It seems that the rumors circulating online are mostly true, someone refusing to get off the bus in the designated order for the red carpet, leading to this awkward situation with no one walking it. Unsure when this awkwardness will end, I’m actually feeling embarrassed for ’Victor’ right now, standing here. According to the sequence I got, it originally was supposed to be Xu Siyao who surged to fame because of ’Eighth Heartbeat Part II’. Everyone should still remember her, a few months ago in a live broadcast event, she shocked the entire net with her drama towards Zhou Yun... Wait, ladies! A car is coming, finally, an artist is about to walk the red carpet! Let’s see, is it Xu Siyao who couldn’t stand the pressure and had to appear!”

The car stopped in front of the red carpet.

The car door opened.

”Oh, dress shoes! It’s a man, let’s see who... Oh, I don’t know him, probably a newcomer, probably ’Victor’ got a newbie to fill up the empty red carpet.” the livestreamer said sarcastically, ”Wait! Another person? My God, I wonder if ’Victor’ also brought in another newbie to pair up a golden boy and girl to clear the bad vibes? Hahaha, after all, the new editor-in-chief can’t hold down the fort. When Chen Ting was the editor, who dared to create such havoc!”

At this moment, a wave of screaming and cheering came from the audience area.

The media area’s cameras also finally lit up again.

”Zhou Yun!”

”Zhou Yun!”

...

A tsunami of cheers erupted.

The host, relieved, said: ”Our Zhou Yun has arrived on the red carpet, welcome Miss Zhou Yun, please come over to our equally beautiful display board to take photos!”

Zhou Yun appeared on the red carpet, smiling and waving, walking forward slowly with Jin Su.

...

”Zhou Yun is up?!” Xu Siyao, hearing this news, was shocked and incredulously asked, ”How could she go up early?”

”People don’t really care about who goes first or last,” responded Yuh Jiangxing sternly.

He was quite dissatisfied with the drama Xu Siyao had stirred up tonight.

Xu Siyao’s face darkened.

”Online, there are already lots of people passing around that you’re being a diva, changing your mind last minute refusing to walk the red carpet as per the original schedule, and they’re all cursing you,” Yuh Jiangxing said, ”If you keep being stubborn, not only will ’Victor’ blacklist you, but the number of people cursing you will also increase.”

Xu Siyao gritted her teeth, ”Again Zhou Yun!”

Jealousy and irritation flashed in her eyes as she said, ”No, if I go walk the red carpet now, wouldn’t it confirm the rumors! I can’t just go like this, Yuh Jiangxing, go plead with Li Ci for me, ask him to walk the red carpet with me, only this way can I clear this matter! I absolutely cannot go on the red carpet now!”

”Xu Siyao, can you please clear your mind? You want to walk the red carpet with Zhou Yun and now Li Ci, are you out of your mind? Walking the red carpet with Li Ci would start rumors about you two next second, how could the company allow Li Ci to be rumored with you?” Yuh Jiangxing sneered.

”So you just want to watch me get cursed?” Xu Siyao said, ”Only if Li Ci walks with me on the red carpet can I explain not appearing as per the original schedule. Yuh Jiangxing, go talk to Li Ci, or maybe talk to President He, he won’t just watch me fall into this PR crisis.”

”What were you doing earlier? I told you not to get entangled with Sitian Yu about the order of appearance, but you insisted on making a fuss, and now look?” Yuh Jiangxing said angrily.

”What’s the point of saying this now? If it wasn’t for Zhou Yun messing things up for me, I wouldn’t be in such a difficult situation!” Xu Siyao’s expression turned fierce, ”I only wanted to walk behind Sitian Yu!”

”I’m not going to make that call for you, if you want to call, do it yourself, I’m telling you, just now Ren Su Min said that if Zhou Yun finishes walking the red carpet and you still haven’t shown up, then you don’t need to show up at all.”

Yuh Jiangxing crossed his arms over his chest, clearly not wanting to say another word to Xu Siyao.

Xu Siyao, infuriated, her chest heaving, yelled, ”Get lost!”

In the end, she picked up the phone herself.
