Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 236: Chapter 199: Rising Phase: 35

Su Yan’s inner monologue: That vixen!

From Su Yan’s point of view, there was no doubt that it was the vixen Zhou Yun seducing Wei Chen.

Zhou Yun was best at these tricks, having dazzled Song Chi and then He Yong, making both men dance to her tune, and now she had set her sights on Wei Chen.

Of course, Wei Chen was a man worth Zhou Yun’s seduction efforts. From his debut as a leading man to his longstanding popularity and a central role in ”Geology Talk,” his position was stable at the top with an extensive network.

Seeing Zhou Yun and Wei Chen chatting so happily, Su Yan felt as if a thorn was stuck in her eye, unbearable and forcing her to remove this irritant.

She smiled, tossed her hair, and said meaningfully to Zhou Yun, ”You indeed have the talent of getting along happily with various men.”

Zhou Yun: ”Sister Su Yan is paying such close attention to me.”

”Not paying attention, but this place is so small, you always catch some gossip.”

”My mother instructed me from a young age never to gossip behind people’s backs or get involved in it. Don’t you avoid it, Sister Su Yan?”

”I’d like to avoid it, but there’s always someone talking, and I can’t really wear a sign on my chest saying ’Don’t discuss Zhou Yun in front of me.’ Rumors already circulate that we don’t get along, and with that sign, people might even think we’ll be at odds till death.”

”Maybe then the world could turn into Peach Blossom Forest.”

”What?” Su Yan’s increasingly rapid speech was abruptly interrupted.

Zhou Yun smiled, shook her head, ”Nothing.”

At this moment, the director called all guests to prepare to record the next game.

Frowning, Su Yan glared at Zhou Yun, seemingly yet to grasp Zhou Yun’s meaning, but she already had to go to her partner.

Wei Chen subtly curled the corner of his lips, quietly asking, ”Were you this formidable in school?”

”Formidable?”

”Using references to insinuate things about people.” Wei Chen said with a smile, ”After I graduated, I’ve never heard anyone insult people this way again.”

”Then everyone should review their textbooks more, better safe than sorry,” Zhou Yun said, ”There’s so much essence in them.”

Wei Chen laughed out aloud.

Hearing Wei Chen’s laugh, Su Yan twisted her head to look.

Zhou Yun simply acted as if she saw nothing, avoiding her gaze.

-

At noon, everyone had lunch and a period of rest.

Wei Chen was cornered by Su Yan at the restroom entrance.

Su Yan’s eyes were filled with reproach, as if looking at a traitor.

Wei Chen spread his hands open, innocently asking, ”Why are you looking at me like that?”

”You’re asking me? You should ask yourself, what did you do?” Su Yan bit her teeth hard, ”I thought our alliance was unbreakable!”

”Yes, of course,” said Wei Chen, ”What misunderstanding is there?”

”You don’t even realize that when you stand in front of Zhou Yun, your eyes almost stick to her!” Su Yan accused.

”I was just enjoying our chat, is that so bad?” Wei Chen denied, ”When did my eyes stick to her? Don’t talk nonsense, I am a married man.”

Su Yan sneered, ”So you do remember that you’re married. Then why don’t you consider how your wife would feel if she knew you were getting cozy with Zhou Yun, that vixen?”

”Don’t drag me into your feud by slinging mud at me! Am I supposed to insult her and ignore her in front of all these people just because I don’t chit-chat with her? Your beef with her is your problem, don’t involve me. She’s backed by Chengqian Entertainment, and I sure don’t want to make an enemy of her,” Wei Chen said bluntly.

”Are you just afraid of crossing Chengqian Entertainment? Don’t give me that!”

”I don’t want to make an enemy of a popular female celebrity over some random issue with you!” Wei Chen warned Su Yan angrily, ”I’m going to emphasize this one last time, don’t drag your personal grudges into this! Our issues with Gan Bida have nothing to do with her!”

”What if Gan Bida decides to make her a permanent guest?” Su Yan asked furiously, ”If she becomes a permanent guest, then one of us will have to leave.”

Wei Chen laughed speechlessly.

”What does it have to do with me? Whoever leaves, it won’t be me.” Wei Chen was about to walk away, then stopped and added, ”Also, Su Yan, is Zhou Yun really going to be a permanent guest? She’s booked solid with several movies lined up next. Why would she waste her time on a variety show?”

Su Yan was so angry that her face turned green.

”This variety show has taken us years to build!” said Su Yan.

”I know, we’ve spent years building it, because we don’t have that many movies to shoot,” Wei Chen said dismissively, ”When ’Heart Inquiry’ was filmed, I didn’t see you hesitate to ask for a six-month break from ’Geology Talk’!”

-

”I heard that Wei Chen fought with Su Yan at lunch, and people saw them parting on bad terms.”

After Zhou Yun woke up from a short nap, Zheng Xiaojue whispered to her.

Zhou Yun laughed in surprise, ”That was quick, huh?”

”Sister Xiao Yun, why would Su Yan fight with Wei Chen? Aren’t they close? I saw them leave in the same car yesterday,” Zheng Xiaojue said confusedly.

Zhou Yun replied, ”Because... I’m sowing discord.”

”What? Why?” Zheng Xiaojue asked, surprised.

Zhou Yun explained, ”Because when we’re in danger, we can’t just sit and wait to die. We have to take the initiative to turn a disadvantage into an advantage. Now they have to deal with their own internal strife first.”

Zheng Xiaojue said, ”Sister Lan told me she’s here, she’s talking to Zhang Yan now.”

”Okay, we’re flying back to Shanghai tonight, right? Ask Sister Lan if she wants to come with us.” Zhou Yun said, ”If she doesn’t have plans, let’s find a place nearby to have dinner and then head to the airport together.”

Zheng Xiaojue agreed.

In the afternoon, the program continued recording.

When the cameras were rolling, it was fine, but during breaks, you could visibly see Su Yan’s face souring, and everyone could tell she was in a bad mood.

News of her argument with Wei Chen had reached Zheng Xiaojue, so naturally, the rest of the crew had heard about it as well.

Nothing that happens within three meters of the restroom stays secret.

Zhou Yun initially wanted to ask mockingly, ”Brother Chan, what happened between you and Sister Su Yan? Why fight all of a sudden?” But the words churned in her throat, too disgusting even for her to say, so she swallowed them back.

She finished recording the program cheerfully and said goodbye to everyone.

Zhou Lan was waiting for her up ahead, giving her an enthusiastic hug.

”Well done,” Zhou Lan said.

”Of course,” Zhou Yun replied with a slight smile.
