Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 208: Chapter 176: Rise: 12

After venting that anger, I turned off my phone.

Zhou Yun lifted her eyelids and instructed Zheng Xiaojue, ”If Sister Lan calls you looking for me later, just say I’ve fallen asleep and can’t be woken up.”

Zheng Xiaojue looked bewildered, ”Huh?”

A minute later, Zheng Xiaojue’s phone rang.

Zheng Xiaojue looked shocked, seemingly not expecting Zhou Yun’s prediction to actually come true; Zhou Lan did indeed call.

She looked back at Zhou Yun uneasily, feeling somewhat anxious as if something bad had happened.

Zhou Yun was sitting behind, her arms crossed over her chest, eyes closed, meditating.

Zheng Xiaojue carefully answered the phone and weakly called out, ”Sister Lan?”

Zhou Lan’s voice was so sharp and loud that without the speaker on, Zhou Yun couldn’t hear it.

”Where is Zhou Yun?”

Zheng Xiaojue carefully followed Zhou Yun’s instructions, saying, ”Eldest Sister Yun has fallen asleep.”

Zhou Lan’s voice was frantic, seemingly ready to tear Zhou Yun in two, she barked, ”Asleep my ass! Wake her up and get her on the phone!”

Zhou Yun opened her eyes and gave Zheng Xiaojue a threatening glare.

Zheng Xiaojue sniffled, struggling, and said, ”Sister Lan, Eldest Sister Yun can’t be woken up.”

Zhou Lan: ”...”

The call ended.

It seemed that Zhou Lan realized that, being out of reach, not all commands can be obeyed.

She couldn’t control Zhou Yun.

Zheng Xiaojue with a pitiful look on her face, asked, ”Eldest Sister Yun, Sister Lan won’t fire me, will she?”

Zhou Yun said, ”Stay calm.”

Zheng Xiaojue’s phone suddenly vibrated.

She looked down at the message, it was from Zhou Lan, a screenshot with a message: ”Tell her to delete this Weibo post, or she won’t be able to sleep tonight.”

Zheng Xiaojue carefully handed the phone to Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun glanced at it, snorted coldly, and said, ”Who is she trying to scare.”

Zheng Xiaojue asked, ”Eldest Sister Yun, what did you post on Weibo?”

She hadn’t even opened the picture to see.

Zhou Yun said, ”Take a look yourself.”

Zheng Xiaojue looked down, clicked on the image, and saw the Weibo post Zhou Yun had just made, her pupils dilating and she gasped sharply.

She finally understood why Zhou Lan was so furious just now.

”Eldest Sister Yun, isn’t this, this going too far?” Zheng Xiaojue asked quietly.

Zhou Yun kept a stern face and said, ”Too far what, just leave it.”

Zheng Xiaojue wanted to say more, but Zhou Yun seemed unwilling to talk further, Zheng Xiaojue’s words were stuck in her throat, unable to come out.

Silence ensued.

Since Zhou Yun’s phone was turned off, they were undisturbed for the time, the silence filled only with the breathing of the few people and the sound of the vehicle moving.

After half an hour, Zhou Yun’s mood had calmed down.

She looked at her phone that had been turned off, hesitated for a moment, but finally picked it up, turned it on, and was greeted with a terrifying number of WeChat messages and missed calls, as if she had been missing for half a year.

Zhou Yun logged into Weibo again.

Not surprisingly, the hot search had two keywords related to Zhou Yun, holding the first and second positions, with the second being the post she had just made, now a trending topic.

Zhou Yun clicked to view it.

The top real-time post was ”Sister is so Slay.”

Zhou Yun was startled.

This was not what she expected. She thought that swearing would surely attract a barrage of criticism. Such blunt responses would only amplify tensions; why would someone praise her?

After browsing through more Weibo posts, Zhou Yun realized, Zhou Lan with her company’s backing had managed to control the public opinion and handle the PR.

Several familiar big Vs praised Zhou Yun for being genuine. It’s rare nowadays to still see celebrities who react angrily in person at rumors.

There are a few scattered voices saying that even if Zhou Yun was wronged by rumors, she shouldn’t swear, after all, she’s a public figure.

But such opinions are in the minority.

Most reactions are:

Eldest Sister Yun is really tough!

Thumbs up, this is how you should face rumors, well done!

I’m a fan, I declare Zhou Yun is now my sister.

...

After seeing these Weibo (Twitter-like) posts, Zhou Yun was taken aback and a bit amused.

Returning to her own Weibo and opening the comments, the message was similar, but the second top comment took Zhou Yun by surprise. It was from Zhou Lan: ”Calm down, I’ve called the police. P.S. Calm down and apologize soon, it’s Okay to be angry, just don’t swear.”

Many of Zhou Yun’s fans laughed under Zhou Lan’s comment and commented: ”Such a strict agent.”

Then, looking at Weibo’s trending topics, a new entry had appeared: ”Agent advises Zhou Yun to apologize and not swear.”

Zhou Yun realized that this was because she had just refused to cooperate with Zhou Lan, so Zhou Lan came up with a new public relations strategy.

No matter what, as a public figure, swearing does indeed have a bad public influence.

While Zhou Yun indulged herself, Zhou Lan had to safeguard her public image.

That’s why Zhou Lan tried to manage Zhou Yun’s image as a genuinely emotional celebrity, while actively encouraging an apology to immediately establish the impression of Zhou Yun’s unfair outburst.

Zhou Yun sighed softly.

She opened WeChat and messaged Zhou Lan: ”I’ve calmed down.”

Zhou Lan: ”Apologize in two hours.”

Zhou Yun replied with an ”Oh.”

Zhou Lan: ”Hurry back to the company.”

Zhou Yun replied with another ”Oh.”

Zhou Lan: ”Find time to call Song Chi back. He just called me.”

Zhou Yun was startled.

So Song Chi knew about this too?

Isn’t he busy filming? How could he be so quick on catching up with the gossip? Not focusing on filming at all.

Zhou Yun messaged Song Chi: ”My phone was turned off just now.”

Almost three seconds later, Song Chi called.

Zhou Yun was startled.

That was too quick.

”Hello?” Zhou Yun answered the call.

Song Chi: ”Is your brain filled with water?”

Zhou Yun was taken aback by Song Chi’s angry tone.

She thought Song Chi was calling to comfort her, but why was he scolding her right off the bat?

Song Chi sighed, seemingly suppressing his anger, and asked: ”Who is that idiot? Did you find them?”

Zhou Yun: ”No...why are you so angry?”

Song Chi exclaimed, ”You suddenly turned off your phone, neither I nor your agent could contact you. Am I angry? I’m worried!”

”Then, don’t worry too much, I’m fine,” Zhou Yun was suddenly at a loss for words, stammering somewhat, ”I just got so angry and tweeted. I knew Sister Lan would scold me, so I turned off my phone.”

Song Chi didn’t say anything.

On the other end of the phone, only the sound of Song Chi’s annoyed breathing could be heard.

”Shouldn’t you be filming right now?” Zhou Yun asked quietly, ”Why are you calling me instead?”

Song Chi snorted coldly and said: ”You still remember I should be filming? To hell with filming, Su Yan saw you being scolded in the mall and laughed so hard that she accidentally flipped her chair and hurt her back.”

”...”
