Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 247: Chapter 209: Rise Phase: 45

Zhou Yun looked over at the tall and lean young man after hearing the words.

”Alright, no problem. I was gonna be by myself anyway, now I have a male companion, which is perfect.” Zhou Yun smiled slightly.

”Thank you.” Wen Xi patted Zhou Yun’s shoulder with her right hand, ”I’ll thank you properly later. I’m a bit pressed for time right now, need to hurry and set off, I’ll leave him in your care.”

Wen Xi hurriedly left with her team.

Zhou Yun walked up to the young man, showed a smile, and said, ”Hello, I’m Zhou Yun.”

The tall and lean young man was a bit shy and timidly nodded, saying, ”My name is Jin Su.”

”You’ll walk with me later, we’ll go down the red carpet together. Sister Wen Xi told you, right?” Zhou Yun asked.

Jin Su nodded and pursed his lips, saying, ”Thank you.”

”No need to be polite.” Zhou Yun laughed, ”But you’re so tall, I need to wear my tallest high heels. Later, you’ll have to hold me steady, I really don’t want to trip on the red carpet.”

Jin Su made a sound of agreement.

Zhou Lan, who overheard the conversation, blinked in confusion, ”Walk the red carpet together? What’s going on?”

-

New Fashion Night, the red carpet area.

Dozens of media with their cameras big and small were already prepared, and the official live broadcast had already started.

The host began warming up the crowd.

The person in charge of the red carpet process was doing the final confirmations via walkie-talkie.

The first guest to walk the red carpet had already arrived in the waiting area by car.

Regardless, it cannot be denied that it was a night brimming with starlight.

When the first guest stepped onto the red carpet, a wave of enthusiastic screaming erupted from the audience area.

-

Zhou Yun and Jin Su had already gotten into the car, heading to the event location.

Zhou Lan was sitting in the passenger seat, watching the official live broadcast.

As they were about to arrive at the event venue, Zhou Lan suddenly exclaimed, ”Wow!”

Zhou Yun asked, ”What’s wrong?”

”I don’t know, suddenly there’s no one on the red carpet, seems like the next person scheduled to walk is not showing up.” Zhou Lan said.

Zhou Yun: ”Are they late?”

”Late? It’s probably not that simple, let me check what’s really going on.”

They got to the waiting area. The organizers had prepared a rest area for the celebrity guests.

”Let’s go to the rest area first.” Zhou Lan said, ”We’ll switch cars and go onto the red carpet later.”

”Okay.”

Zhou Yun got out of the car and walked into the rest area.

The rest area was in chaos, every staff member with a work badge was moving extremely quickly, as if they all had wheels on their feet.

A little girl with black-framed glasses hurried over to Zhou Yun and said, ”Hello, Miss Zhou Yun, I’m Monica, I’ll take you to the rest area.”

Zhou Lan immediately walked ahead.

”Monica, right? Can I ask what’s happening with the red carpet? Why is there a several-minute vacant period on the live broadcast with no one walking up?”

Monica looked at them and, without hiding anything, said, ”Xu Siyao who was scheduled to walk is stuck in a traffic jam and can’t make it.”

”So we’re just waiting like this?” Zhou Yun asked in surprise, ”What about the others?”

Monica hesitated for a moment and said, ”I’m not too sure about the specifics.”

She led everyone into the rest area.

”Please rest here for now, I’ll come and take Miss Zhou over shortly before it’s time for you guys.” After finishing her words, Monica quickly left again.

Miss Zhou Yun sat down on the small sofa.

Jin Su felt a bit awkward, not sure whether to sit or stand.

Seeing this, Zhou Yun laughed and said, ”Isn’t there a stool over there? You can sit.”

Zhou Lan said, ”You guys sit first, I’ll go outside to check things out.”

Zhou Yun: ”I knew you wouldn’t be able to sit still.”

”It’s always good to know more,” Zhou Lan said, ”Xu Siyao probably wants to delay till later before she walks the red carpet.”

Zhou Yun asked in surprise, ”Is that possible?”

”How fresh, each year there are always some tricks,” Zhou Lan said, ”The young lady isn’t happy with her early spot.”

Zhou Yun said, ”Wouldn’t this offend Victor?”

”So long as it’s not too over the top, how could it really be offensive,” Zhou Lan said, ”As long as you are popular enough to be of value to others, the question of offense isn’t really that important.”

Zhou Lan went outside to gather information.

Her phone suddenly vibrated.

Yuk Chu sent her a message: Are you attending Victor’s Fashion Night?

Zhou Yun: Hmm, waiting to go on.

Yuk Chu: The internet is blowing up, saying someone is acting all high and mighty, refusing to follow the arranged order for the red carpet.

Zhou Yun: It seems there is such a thing; I just heard that Xu Siyao’s car got stuck on the road, and those behind don’t want to go on ahead.

Yuk Chu: Xu Siyao? She’s so daring, even playing the diva with Victor’s red carpet.

Zhou Yun said: She even contacted me earlier, wanting to walk the red carpet with me.

Yuk Chu: She must want to take advantage of your slot, when will you walk? I’m seeing the news has started streaming live already, it’s really awkward on the red carpet now, the host is awkwardly warming up the crowd, and it’s been nearly ten minutes without anyone walking the red carpet.

Zhou Yun: I was originally scheduled as the penultimate seventh.

Yuk Chu: Then it seems there’s still a while to go, I reckon today’s event is going to be delayed.

Zhou Yun: Hope it ends sooner.

-

”I’m not going! Xu Siyao hasn’t walked yet, why should I?” Yu Sitian was fuming, her face stern, sitting in her rest area refusing to move.

A staff member from Victor stood by helplessly, having tried to persuade her for a good while, but Yu Sitian wouldn’t budge.

Even her agent started to persuade her.

At this moment, ”knock knock,” two sounds, someone knocked on the door and a woman walked in.

Upon seeing her, the staff members from Victor greeted her respectfully with ”Editor-in-Chief Ren.”

The person who arrived was none other than Victor’s newly appointed editor-in-chief, Ren Sumin.

”Sitian, I’m Ren Sumin,” she introduced herself.

Yu Sitian looked at her in surprise.

In front of the editor-in-chief, Yu Sitian didn’t dare to keep up her act and stood up, saying, ”Editor-in-Chief Ren, are you here to urge me to walk the red carpet first too?”

Ren Sumin said, ”I realize that by having you go now, it’s a bit unfair to you, and I promise to make it up to you in the future.”

”But I don’t want compensation. It’s clear that Xu Siyao wants to go later. If I go up now, would you stop Xu Siyao from walking the red carpet tonight? If you promise me, preventing Xu Siyao from walking, then I’ll go now,” said Yu Sitian.

Ren Sumin: ”Sitian, Xu Siyao’s side said they are stuck in traffic, and they didn’t intentionally arrive late.”

”I don’t believe it, Editor-in-Chief Ren, could you possibly believe such a low-level lie?” Yu Sitian sneered.

Ren Sumin took a deep breath and said, ”Sitian, can you do me a personal favor this time? We simply can’t leave the red carpet empty like this, there’s a live broadcast tonight.”

Yu Sitian: ”I’m not the one who caused this situation.”

Editor-in-Chief Ren clenched her jaw tight.
