Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 202: Chapter 170: Ascending Phase: 06

Chen Wenjun glanced at Zhou Yun with interest and said, ”How could I not know Miss Zhou? Miss Zhou has been the hottest female celebrity for the past six months.”

Zhou Yun thought to herself, Lew Qingqing is still here.

”President Chen, you must be joking.”

Lew Qingqing, clinging to Chen Wenjun’s arm and leaning close to him bird-like, said, ”Xiao Yun and I are good friends, but I didn’t expect Xiao Yun to come with Mr. Chen today.”

Her eyes curiously darted back and forth between Chen Fusi and Zhou Yun, clearly very curious about their relationship.

Chen Fusi explained, ”Zhou Yun and I are friends. We just happened to have dinner together, and considering that President Chen is the owner of Seapool, I thought I’d bring Zhou Yun here to make acquaintance, hoping that President Chen can consider cooperation opportunities in the future.”

Zhou Yun smiled awkwardly.

”So that’s it.” Lew Qingqing laughed and said, ”Not long ago, someone made up rumors about me using Xiao Yun’s name, saying I stole Xiao Yun’s role. Luckily I know Xiao Yun isn’t that kind of person.”

Chen Wenjun put his arms around Lew Qingqing’s shoulder, saying, ”Don’t worry, I have already instructed those who need to be taught a lesson. You certainly won’t be troubled.”

Zhou Yun kept her composure, maintaining a smile.

The four of them sat down.

The waiter brought over the wine, opened the bottle, and poured for all four.

They clinked glasses and took a light sip.

Chen Wenjun looked at Zhou Yun and asked, ”Miss Zhou, you’ve just finished filming ’Heart Inquiry’?”

”Yes,” Zhou Yun replied with a smile, ”we just wrapped up yesterday.”

”Uh-huh.” Chen Wenjun nodded, ”But how did you two meet?”

He looked at Zhou Yun with considerable interest.

Zhou Yun replied, ”At a small party organized by a magazine editor I know. I met President Chen there.”

Chen Wenjun turned to Chen Fusi and said, ”Fusi, you certainly cast a wide net, even getting invited to a magazine editor’s event.”

Chen Fusi smiled, holding his glass leisurely, and replied, ”Chen Ting from ’Victor’, you know her too.”

”Her?” Chen Wenjun grabbed Lew Qingqing’s hand and kissed it, a very natural gesture, and then said, ”I heard she’s about to step down.”

Zhou Yun felt a bit disgusted by Chen Wenjun’s action.

But aside from a blush, Lew Qingqing had no other expression on her face.

She lightly patted Chen Wenjun on the shoulder and said, ”What are you doing? We have friends here.”

Chen Wenjun, as if realizing it for the first time, suddenly laughed, ”I couldn’t help myself.”

Chen Fusi commented, ”You two have been in love for two years now and are still so lovey-dovey; I can’t even stand it.”

Chen Wenjun countered, ”If you can’t stand it, find someone yourself.”

His gaze fleetingly swept over Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun, sitting next to Chen Fusi, felt even more embarrassed, her toes involuntarily curling from discomfort.

She wanted to leave.

Fortunately, the two men soon had other matters to discuss and stood up to go elsewhere.

Zhou Yun breathed a sigh of relief, but of course, she couldn’t completely relax yet. She looked up at Lew Qingqing.

Meeting in this kind of environment was inexplicably awkward.

Lew Qingqing said, ”I didn’t expect you to know Chen Fusi.”

Zhou Yun couldn’t figure out the implication behind Lew Qingqing’s words and just smiled.

Actually, she also wanted to say, I didn’t expect that you would be Chen Wenjun’s boyfriend and girlfriend.

The two didn’t speak for a long while.

Lew Qingqing was looking down at her phone, typing away, though who knows who she was chatting with.

After a while, it seemed the chat was over, and she suddenly looked up and said, ”It’s quite boring tonight.”

Zhou Yun wasn’t sure if she wanted to strike up a conversation with her.

”Do you know if Song Chi is aware of your relationship with Chen Fusi?” There was an honest glee of gossip on Lew Qingqing’s face, her eyes seemingly lit up several degrees, as if she found a bit of amusement to help her pass the time on this boring night.

Zhou Yun calmly gazed into Lew Qingqing’s eyes and said, ”How would I know whether Song Chi knows about it or not?”

Lew Qingqing’s expression paused, seemingly not catching the meaning behind Zhou Yun’s words.

”Don’t get the wrong idea, Song Chi and I are friends, and Chen Fusi and I are just friends too.”

”Oh, just friends.” Lew Qingqing’s tone had a subtle nuance, that nuance was already announcing, ’Do you think I’d believe that?’

Zhou Yun detected this subtle nuance, which made her feel a blockage in her heart, like a clogged pipe.

People can’t help but view others with existing prejudices.

Zhou Yun thought, when will she ever meet someone who can break this age-old rule.

Just bored, Zhou Yun took out her cellphone and scrolled through Weibo.

Suddenly, Lew Qingqing said, ”Let’s take a selfie together, just one photo.”

Zhou Yun looked at Lew Qingqing, utterly puzzled.

Lew Qingqing said, ”After all, we are allies now, with a common enemy like Su Yan.”

Zhou Yun chuckled softly.

Lew Qingqing: ”What are you laughing at?”

Zhou Yun: ”You might not believe it, but Su Yan has said the same to me.”

Lew Qingqing: ”What do you mean?”

Zhou Yun shook her head and said, ”I don’t mean anything, but whether it’s you, Sister Qingqing, or Su Yan, I don’t want to get involved in your matters. There’s no such thing as alliances or non-alliances.”

”Up to you.” Lew Qingqing wasn’t insistent on forging any alliance with Zhou Yun either. Seeing Zhou Yun’s refusal, she just shrugged and didn’t take it to heart, ”But I advise you to restrain yourself, if you’re juggling two lovers, once exposed, it’s easy to board the ship but hard to disembark.”

Lew Qingqing still thought she had an ambiguous relationship with both Song Chi and Chen Fusi.

Zhou Yun, beyond help, righteously claimed, ”Don’t worry about me, I haven’t boarded any ship.”

Lew Qingqing gave her a slightly surprised look.

It wasn’t that Lew Qingqing was starting to believe her, but rather, she didn’t expect Zhou Yun to be still so stubbornly in denial at this point.

”Say whatever you want, I’ve warned you already.” Lew Qingqing shrugged.

Zhou Yun was helpless.

Finally, after Chen Fusi and Chen Wenjun finished discussing their matters, Zhou Yun saw the opportunity to leave and said her goodbyes to everyone.

Chen Fusi offered to send her back, but she said there was no need as her driver was already waiting outside.

Chen Fusi then escorted Zhou Yun to the door before going back inside.

When he returned, Chen Wenjun teased, ”Fusi, you’re inviting me here to help you sweet-talk your girlfriend?”

”Don’t joke, we’re really just friends, nothing more, don’t spread rumors,” Chen Fusi said with a smile as he sat down, ”If it weren’t for your profession, I wouldn’t have risked the rumors to bring her here today.”

Chen Wenjun looked utterly surprised, ”You and her, just pure and innocent? I don’t believe you for a second!”
