Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 245: Chapter 207: Rise: 43

”How was your meeting with Xue Qin?” Later, Song Chi called and asked about it.

Zhou Yun didn’t know how to describe it and after thinking for a while, she said, ”It was okay, but I probably won’t get the part. She was quite indifferent towards me, probably didn’t fancy me.”

”Another director doesn’t like you?” Song Chi said, ”Is she blind or what?”

”I have no idea, maybe she already has someone in mind,” Zhou Yun said, ”She mentioned that there are other actresses in contact with her, more famous than me, with more acting experience too.”

”Do you need me to comfort you?” asked Song Chi.

”Forget it,” Zhou Yun said, ”I’ve been through this several times, wanted roles that I ended up not getting, I’m almost used to it by now.”

”Honestly, I’m still not used to this kind of thing,” Song Chi said with a laugh, ”so now I’ve started my own production company. I don’t want to wait for roles to come to me anymore.”

Zhou Yun said, ”That’s pretty good. My schedule for this year is almost full anyway. If I got this movie, it would be hard to coordinate my schedule. Aren’t you about to start filming soon?”

”Yeah, I don’t have anything else to do now, studying the script every morning, having meetings with the company in the afternoon, looking at projects and scripts.”

Zhou Yun said, ”That sounds really good.”

”The New Fashion Night is tomorrow, right?” Song Chi asked.

”Yeah, it’s a pity you won’t go.”

”Then, I better not attract attention; I’ll stay low for a while,” Song Chi said.

”What if someone asks me about you tomorrow?” Zhou Yun asked.

”You just say, he deserves it,” Song Chi chuckled softly.

”Then your fans will want my head for this, the woman who betrays just like that,” Zhou Yun teased.

”Keep it up, I believe you can handle it.”

”Get lost.”

On the morning of the New Fashion Night, the makeup artist hadn’t been decided.

Zhou Yun heard Zhou Lan swearing at someone over the phone.

It seemed that the makeup artist they had contacted in advance bailed out.

After a while, Zhou Lan came back with an irritated and regretful look on her face and said, ”Xiao Yun, the makeup artist I locked down the day before yesterday last minute canceled on us, I’m going to contact another makeup artist now.”

”Sister Lan, it’s unlikely we can get another makeup artist in time now, right?” Zhou Yun said.

Zhou Lan: ”I have a friend, I normally wouldn’t have been able to ask her, but now I have to drag her over no matter what.”

Zhou Yun was a bit surprised, not sure what Zhou Lan meant.

In the afternoon, Zheng Xiaowen came over with three modified gowns.

”Darling, have you decided which one to wear?” she asked.

Zhou Yun said, ”I’ll wear the silver one.”

Zheng Xiaowen smiled proudly, nodded, and said, ”Good taste.”

Around three in the afternoon, Zhou Lan came back with a woman.

Zhou Yun was surprised to see her because the woman was visibly pregnant, looking like she was about to give birth any moment.

”Zhou Lan, you little wretch, do you have to make trouble for me?” the pregnant woman grumbled as she entered.

Zhou Lan was full of nice words, saying, ”Sister, we’re counting on you to save the day. If you don’t step in, I’m screwed, do you have the heart to see me lose my livelihood?”

”Stop with the sob story.”

The pregnant woman swept her gaze over and noticed Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun didn’t know how to greet her and hesitated, looking towards Zhou Lan.

”Xiao Yun, this is Ji Yunlan, Teacher Ji,” Zhou Lan introduced.

Zhou Yun got up, extended her hand, and said, ”Teacher Ji, nice to meet you, I’m sorry for troubling you.”

Zhou Yun hadn’t heard of the name Ji Yunlan.

But judging by Zhou Lan’s demeanor, this must be someone important?

Ji Yunlan shook hands with Zhou Yun and said, ”Alright, then let’s see, what kind of makeup look do you want for tonight?”

”Which gown are you planning to wear?” Ji Yunlan’s gaze immediately went towards the clothes rack.

”The silver, the silver one,” Zhou Yun said.

Ji Yunlan walked up to the clothes rack, picked up the silver gown, and measured it against Zhou Yun’s figure.

”Okay, I got it,” Ji Yunlan nodded.

Half an hour before the red carpet segment of New Fashion Night, Su Yan was in a nearby hotel, looking at herself in the mirror.

”How do I look? Sister Ting, do you think I look beautiful today?” she asked He Ting standing beside her.

He Ting’s eyes were full of admiration.

”Of course you’re beautiful, the high fashion look really makes a statement, this look will definitely become a classic,” she said, ”This is the global debut of this outfit.”

Su Yan smiled proudly.

Her outfit was ethereal high couture, which she and Lew Qingqing had fought over for a long time.

In the end, Lew Qingqing lost, and Su Yan snagged the dress.

And of course, all the credit went to He Ting. True to her nickname in the industry as ”He Tiegu,” she used various methods, pulled all sorts of strings, and ultimately snatched this dress from their old rival Lew Qingqing. Just on this point alone, it was a small victory.

”Lew Qingqing will probably scowl at me all night long when she sees me tonight,” Su Yan felt extremely pleased.

”You will certainly outshine the other actresses tonight,” He Ting said.

”What about Zhou Yun? Have you figured out who her stylist is?” Su Yan asked.

He Ting shook her head and said, ”I’ve been keeping an eye on all the top stylists, they are all booked, none for Zhou Yun.”

”What is she thinking?”

”I don’t know, don’t worry about her. No matter what, she’s still not in the same league as you, you should watch out for rivals like Lew Qingqing and Wei Ru Xue.”

-

”Has Zhou Yun found a new makeup artist?” On the other side, Wei Ru Xue, whose styling was almost complete, lit a cigarette in her room.

”Boss, you’re smoking now, aren’t you afraid of ash falling on your dress?” her assistant shrieked.

Wei Ru Xue waved her hand nonchalantly and said, ”Just be careful, I need a smoke. This dress is so tight I can hardly breathe, I must have one.”

”I’ve been keeping an eye out, and there’s been no movement.”

”No movement? What, is she not planning to hire a makeup artist?” Wei Ru Xue sneered, ”Has she given up after I stole her previous makeup artist?”

”I don’t know.”

”Well, then let’s ignore her,” Wei Ru Xue smirked.

”Sister Xue, one more thing, I just heard that Xu Siyao has suddenly been invited, she’ll be here tonight.”

Wei Ru Xue did not expect to hear this name.

”Her? Wasn’t she almost frozen out? How come she’s popped up again?”

”I heard, she’s been getting close to President Chen of Seapool Film and Television recently, I’m not sure why Chengqian let her out again.”

”Chen Wenjun? Wasn’t he dating Lew Qingqing?”

”They broke up a while ago.”
