The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 405: Chapter 405 Did She Also Gaze at Him Like This?_1

The bed was very wide, but there was only one comforter in the double room.

Samantha Tate and Carson Flores lay side by side. Samantha Tate had her eyes closed, yet her cheeks were flushed red, and her breathing was slightly rushed, as if she had drunk too much alcohol.

Carson Flores, on the other hand, was well-tested. Although he also felt some unease, he managed to restrain himself.

After lying there for a while, Samantha Tate couldn’t endure it any longer, after all, who sleeps so rigidly and meticulously?

In her everyday sleep, she was sprawled out, adopting any pose that felt comfortable. Now, maintaining such a proper posture was simply torture.

Samantha Tate turned over, turning her back to Carson Flores, and the uncomfortable feeling seemed to ease a bit. However, after enduring for a few minutes, she began to feel uncomfortable again.

Unable to resist, Samantha Tate turned over once more, this time facing Carson Flores.

Though the bed and comforter were large, two people sleeping couldn’t entirely stick to the edges, so the distance between them wasn’t actually that wide.

Facing Carson Flores now, breathing became clearly audible, and she could even feel the warmth of their breaths, which stirred bouts of tension in Samantha Tate’s heart.

No, this is too uncomfortable, I should turn back around.

Just as Samantha Tate was about to turn back, Carson Flores, already overcome by drowsiness, reached out and wrapped his arms around her.

”Stop turning, just find a comfortable position and don’t force yourself, sleep.”

Samantha Tate’s body instantly tensed up.

After a while, Samantha Tate realized that Carson Flores made no further moves. His hand simply wrapped around her waist without any other excessive overstepping, and her body gradually relaxed.

This position... was actually quite comfortable.

Within Carson Flores’ embrace, Samantha Tate wriggled a bit to adjust the position of her head, nesting it on Carson Flores’ arm, and let out a long sigh.

As she relaxed, drowsiness coupled with the effects of alcohol rose swiftly, and Samantha Tate fell asleep quickly.

A night of sweet dreams.

In the morning, Samantha Tate opened her eyes and saw Carson Flores, who was still deep in sleep. Observing his peaceful face, her inner world began to stir and thoughts started to wander.

Could her sister have also lay like she did now, resting on Carson Flores’ arm, looking at his face with a tender smile?

With this thought, a subtle change took place in Samantha Tate’s heart.

What will the future hold?

And what will her sister choose once she learns of this?

Should she take advantage of her sister’s absence to madly fall in love, experience everything lovers should, and then when her sister returns, quietly leave, giving Carson Flores back to her?

Thinking about leaving, Samantha Tate felt an inexplicable twinge of discomfort in her heart.

Still can’t bear to do it.

She wanted to be with him forever, till the seas run dry and the rocks crumble!

”What are you thinking about?”

Carson Flores’ voice snapped Samantha Tate out of her reverie. She suddenly came back to her senses, only to realize that Carson Flores had at some point opened his eyes, watching her with a smile.

Samantha Tate, deeply embarrassed, quickly turned around and buried her face in the comforter.

She must have looked so foolish just now.

Carson Flores chuckled and did not take the opportunity to tease Samantha Tate. After all, they had just woken up, and teasing could easily lead to trouble.

Since Samantha Tate had made a decision, Carson Flores respected it. Objectively speaking, her decision was rational and responsible.

”I’m going to freshen up.”

After freshening up, Samantha Tate had returned to normal. After all, though they hadn’t crossed the final boundary, their relationship had already surpassed that of ordinary lovers; there wasn’t much need to be overly concerned.

After breakfast, Carson Flores checked the time. ”I’m going to accompany Leonard. If you feel like going out, you can take a stroll. If not, just rest in the room. I’ll ask Lydia Howell to come and keep you company.”

”Okay!”

Carson Flores knocked on Lydia Howell’s door, left her with some instructions, then went downstairs to meet with the waiting Leonard Reid, got in the sedan, and headed towards Xi Jing City First Hospital.

”The old gentleman’s last name is Howell, Jaiden Howell. He’s a professor of archaeology and quite a luminary in the field, with students everywhere. Mr. Howell helped me out in the past, saved me from prison, and even gave me some capital to start anew. That’s how I ended up where I am today,” Leonard Reid told the story of his connection with Jaiden Howell to Carson Flores on the ride. ”Professor Howell is eighty-five now. He fell ill recently. I went to visit him when I heard the news, and his condition seemed very bad. I asked for your help to treat him, really as a gesture of gratitude. Regardless of the outcome, I owe you a favor.”

Carson Flores smiled. ”From what you’ve told me, Professor Howell sounds like a great person. It’s no trouble for me to make the trip. As for owing me a favor, let’s not talk about that. No need to be so formal.”

Leonard Reid sighed. ”Ah, with others, I dislike owing favors, because many times, favors become a noose around the neck. But for the favors I owe you, I don’t even get the chance to repay. What I have, you don’t need, and what I can’t do, you can. I’m helpless when you need help, and that makes things awkward for me...”
