Chapter 343: Chapter 232: Mutual Destruction? Wu Ting Becomes the 2nd Largest Shareholder

President Liang was taken aback by the scope of Wu Ting’s plan—or more accurately, he was thrilled and excited.

He had recently been dedicating himself to the research and development of bioabsorbable polymers and the implementation of their various practical applications.

Wu Ting’s medical collaboration project was exactly what he’d been hoping for.

Most importantly, Wu Ting’s stent project was a matter of personal urgency for him as well.

Due to the toxic side effects of Sorafenib, the stenosis of President Liang’s coronary arteries had already caused irreversible damage. Wu Ting had used a traditional metal stent on him previously, but it wouldn’t be long before complications and long-term side effects could arise.

Wu Ting’s new project gave President Liang hope. If this new bioabsorbable stent was implanted, it would improve not only his quality of life but also his life expectancy.

In addition, Wu Ting also made a point of showcasing his potential and capabilities in the field of completely curing hepatitis B-related primary liver cancer.

President Liang truly did not fear death, but when offered the hope of living longer, no one could refuse.

After a highly productive and morale-boosting negotiation, President Liang began treating Wu Ting as a guest of honor.

As a shareholder in Weixing Petrochemical, a corporation worth hundreds of billions, President Liang’s financial resources were substantial.

Wu Ting happened to be fundraising at that very moment. Seizing the opportunity presented by the bioabsorbable vascular stent project, President Liang directly invested a staggering 80 million into Wu Ting’s new venture!

This was no mere whim on President Liang’s part. As a top expert in materials science, he understood the market potential and clinical significance of this bioabsorbable polymer vascular stent!

Once this stent was officially launched, it would take the medical device market by storm!

The very next day, in the chief engineer’s office at Weixing Petrochemical, President Liang signed the relevant agreements with Wu Ting’s team.

On the third day, the 80 million in funds was wired directly into Wu’s Pharmaceutical Company’s account!

...

...

During this time, through the various maneuvers of Wu Ting and Deng Feifei, Wu’s Pharmaceutical Company had amassed a collection of projects, patents, and partnership agreements with extremely promising financial prospects.

With these assets in hand, Wu Ting approached Tang Shengjie of the National Investment Company. Through his introductions, Wu Ting met with high-level executives from several major banks.

After a round of negotiations, Wu Ting used these assets as collateral to secure a massive loan!

Having secured the necessary capital, Wu Ting began to keep a low profile. He returned to City First Hospital and started drafting and refining three academic papers.

The first paper: ”The Fourth Technological Revolution—Clinical Application of Bioabsorbable Intravascular Stents”...

The second paper: ”A Clinical Study on the Lethal Toxic Side Effects of Pfizer’s New Drug Sorafenib and an Examination of the Authority of FDA Certification”...

The third paper: ”Using Molecular Modeling Technology to Screen for ’Fengmu Tiada’ Lead Compounds with Potential to Cure Hepatitis B-Related Primary Liver Cancer”...

For these three papers, Wu Ting had a distinct submission strategy for each.

For the first and third papers, Wu Ting planned to submit to *Cell* again. He was now on very familiar terms with Professor Lin Ning, and publishing through him would be the quickest path to publication.

The second paper, however, he intended to publish in the world’s most renowned and authoritative medical journal, *Lancet*. After all, the article was inherently controversial and highly aggressive.

Most journals would be too afraid of offending Pfizer to dare publish such an article.

But *Lancet* was different. *Lancet* was the honey badger of the medical world; it had published plenty of articles attacking international pharmaceutical giants like Pfizer.

In a recent issue, after Southern Country Pfizer Company developed its new COVID vaccine, *Lancet* didn’t pull any punches, even as a large number of Southern Country Government-funded media outlets sang its praises.

It explicitly published an article pointing out huge deficiencies in the Pfizer vaccine’s efficacy in certain areas. Furthermore, it reported that Pfizer’s new mRNA technology had very serious safety issues, with hundreds of people worldwide dying from adverse reactions after vaccination.

Therefore, Wu Ting was certain that as long as his paper was published with a complete chain of evidence and valid experimental and clinical data, *Lancet* would become the sharpest weapon to plunge into Pfizer’s chest!

While Wu Ting was lying low and gathering his strength, Jia Jun’s team completed their lab experiments on Sorafenib’s toxic side effects in record time.

The final results and data they obtained were an exact match for the information Wu Ting had acquired from Xu Kunlin’s ”Sorafenib R&D Notes” entry.

In other words, the new drug that Xu Kunlin eventually brought to market was in the exact same state as it had been during his first meeting with Wu Ting.

Sorafenib was a half-finished product that had never completed its phase III clinical trials and had been pushed through the FDA’s fast-track approval process using falsified data and backroom dealings!

An underdeveloped drug that never should have been approved!

Just as the laboratory data collection was completed, Zhang Heng’s team finished preparing the entire clinical data framework. All that remained was to wait for the teams at the various registration platforms to send back the collated follow-up results from patients who met the inclusion criteria.

Wu Ting calculated the timing. Everything would come together around the third day after President Jin Yihong returned to Xiao City.

Everything was falling into place perfectly.

...

...

It was another Monday.

It was the first day of Jin Yihong’s return to Xiao City from the Southern Country. It was also the day of the most well-attended board meeting the Jin Pharmaceutical Collection had held in recent memory.
