Doctor: I Can Synthesize Infinite Entries

Wu Ting had recently been familiarizing himself with the business world.

The successful screening of the lead compound for his new drug sparked a brand new plan in Wu Ting’s mind.

Before, Wu Ting wouldn’t have even dared to dream of it. But now, with the high valuation of Wu’s Pharmaceutical Company and the 2% stake he held in Jin Pharmaceutical Group from a stock swap, things were different.

Lately, progress with Lou Musaang had stalled, and various external factors had led to poor sales for the Yangzheng Xiujie Pill, making payment collections difficult.

As a result of all these factors, Jin Pharmaceutical Group’s stock price had already fallen by more than twenty percent since Wu Ting first acquired his shares.

And it showed every sign of continuing to drop!

So, Wu Ting conceived a bold plan: he would buy a massive number of shares when Jin Pharmaceutical Group’s stock price hit its lowest point.

Based on his current net worth and the prospects of Wu’s Pharmaceutical Company, he was confident he could raise a substantial amount of capital.

All he needed to do next was publish his paper on the lead compound for Fengmu Tiada, and that would be his trump card!

’The timing isn’t perfect yet,’ Wu Ting thought it through carefully. ’Jin Pharmaceutical Group’s stock price has much further to fall.’

Wu Ting told no one about his plan to acquire shares of Jin Pharmaceutical Group.

He merely instructed Jia Jun to have her team sign non-disclosure agreements, not even telling Deng Feifei what was going on.

For the time being, the news of the successful lead compound screening for Fengmu Tiada would be kept secret. They would wait until Wu Ting completed his paper and the timing was right to hold a press conference and announce the achievement.

Jia Jun and the researchers were now utterly convinced of Wu Ting’s abilities. Without asking for a reason, they all cooperated willingly.

After the disastrous leak about the Yangzheng Xiujie Pill, which allowed Pfizer Pharmaceutical to precisely target them, the team was determined to play it safe, even without Wu Ting’s prompting. They planned to wait until they had the final results, then launch Fengmu Tiada and catch Pfizer Pharmaceutical completely off guard!

Jia Jun led by example, diving straight into the preclinical research phase to complete the pharmaceutical, pharmacological, and toxicological studies.

With Jia Jun volunteering to take charge, Wu Ting was more than happy to be a hands-off manager.

The faster Fengmu Tiada progressed, the better it was for him.

His next major task was to raise capital and wait for Jin Pharmaceutical Group’s stock price to fall.

His dealings with people like Jin Yihong and Xie Bin had taught Wu Ting that to advance in the medical field, technology alone wasn’t enough. At critical junctures, you needed vast amounts of capital.

With money, he could conduct the scientific research he truly wanted to pursue. With money, he could take on projects that might not show a return for a very long time.

It was just like the grant he had received from the HHMI Research Institute. Once he was wealthy, he could establish his own Wu’s Pharmaceutical Research Institute and a related scientific fund, providing grants to domestic scientists.

With this new clarity, Wu Ting called for Deng Feifei again before he left for the outpatient clinic.

Wu Ting instructed Deng Feifei to continue pushing sales and collecting payments for several of Wu’s Pharmaceutical Company’s current projects:

First, Wu Ting’s Wu’s Umbilical Knife...

Second, the system integration solution for the specialized equipment and large core algorithm model of the Perfect Triple Method...

Third, the commercial application of the P3 predictive diagnosis and treatment technology for chronic hepatitis B...

At the same time, Wu Ting also gave Deng Feifei a fundraising mission.

”Feifei, besides collecting payments, we also need to raise as much capital as possible. Use everything we can—patents, production lines, equity—anything that can be mortgaged or leveraged for financing.”

Wu Ting’s tone was serious and urgent.

Deng Feifei had an inkling but was hesitant to confirm it. ”Wu Ting, why do we suddenly need to raise so much money?”

Wu Ting looked at Deng Feifei’s stunning face and replied in a deadpan voice:

”Recently, there’s been growing negative sentiment from the market and investors toward Jin Pharmaceutical Group. Its stock price and market cap are in a slow, steady decline. Therefore, I plan to do my utmost to raise a sum of capital. When the time is right, I’ll inject confidence back into the market by buying up Jin Pharmaceutical Group’s shares! I’m going to face this major crisis together with President Jin.”

There was plenty of precedent for what Wu Ting was proposing.

For instance, not long ago, when the New Oriental Group faced a crisis, its senior executives used their personal funds for stock buybacks. This gave the market and investors confidence, and the company pulled through.

Stock buybacks are a conventional method for stabilizing a company’s stock price and protecting its corporate image.

Deng Feifei was deeply moved. Wu Ting was willing to raise funds and buy Jin Pharmaceutical Group’s stock when its future was uncertain, a move that carried immense risk.

As Jin Yihong’s designated successor, she was keenly aware of the panic spreading within the company. Lou Musaang’s health problems and the stalled Banzhe Project had prompted many long-time shareholders to secretly reduce their holdings.

Yet Wu Ting was willing to push against the tide, even gambling the future of Wu’s Pharmaceutical Company and his own personal prospects.

Deng Feifei’s eyes grew slightly misty, and she said with firm resolve:

”I will do everything in my power to help you raise the funds. And when the time comes, I’ll follow your lead and use my own money to buy company stock. Let’s get through this crisis together.”

Deng Feifei’s admiration for Wu Ting’s integrity deepened.

It was Wu Ting’s shift. As the deputy director of emergency surgery, he couldn’t neglect his hospital duties.
