Chapter 320: Chapter 225: Fund Signing Ceremony! Starting the Procurement of Laboratory Instruments

On Wednesday morning, the signing ceremony for the first batch of partner institutions of the Fan City Mother Fund was held.

This time, a total of 17 sub-funds for the health and life sciences industry were signed, with the contracts amounting to a staggering 6.8 billion!

The Mother Fund contributed 2.1 billion, which leveraged 4.7 billion in private capital!

Wu Ting and Deng Feifei attended the signing ceremony as representatives of Wu’s Pharmaceutical Company.

Wu Ting signed on behalf of one of the sub-funds, the ”Fan City Pharmaceutical and Medical Venture Capital Fund.” This sub-fund primarily invests in high-quality projects in the biopharmaceutical and health sectors during their seed and growth stages, with a key focus on aligning with Fan City’s industrial positioning as a hub for international biomedical innovation and incubation.

The fund aims to incubate more pharmaceutical and medical projects, creating a new engine and injecting fresh momentum into the development of Fan City’s health industry. It seeks to drive key breakthroughs in the city’s biopharmaceutical sector and accelerate its rise in industrial competitiveness!

The signing ceremony was a gathering of major players.

Xie Bin, the President of Pfizer Pharmaceutical Group’s Jin Country District, also attended the signing ceremony.

Unlike Wu Ting, who was receiving funding, Xie Bin attended as a representative of private capital, investing in several of Fan City’s traditional Chinese medicine raw material production bases.

His investments were specifically targeted at Fan City’s two well-known Yinchen cultivation bases, a Half-branch Lotus cultivation base, and a traditional Chinese medicine raw materials processing company.

During the signing ceremony, Xie Bin noticed Wu Ting and Deng Feifei. After the signing was complete, he walked over to greet them.

”Dr. Wu, President Deng, we meet again.”

Xie Bin maintained a civil facade toward Wu Ting and Deng Feifei.

Wu Ting, having no direct dealings with him, simply gave a slight nod.

Deng Feifei, on the other hand, chose to ignore him. She had no fondness for Pfizer whatsoever and simply stood quietly by Wu Ting’s side, a cold and detached technical manager.

Seeing Deng Feifei’s coldness, Xie Bin remained suave and composed, even offering a compliment.

”Just as I’d expect from President Jin’s only daughter. Young people are certainly full of personality and spirit. Congratulations on your company securing investment from the Fan City Pharmaceutical and Medical Venture Capital Fund.”

”And congratulations to you as well, President Deng. Jin Pharmaceutical Group is making great strides, and I hear it’s secured ten billion in financing. Truly wonderful news.”

”Dr. Wu, President Deng, there’s really no need for such hostility. The dynamic between Pfizer and Jin Pharmaceutical Group is simply healthy competition in the business world.”

”Personally, I have high hopes for your young team and would be more than happy to offer my assistance. Dr. Wu, if you ever need funding, feel free to contact me anytime.”

In Xie Bin’s eyes, his real competitor was Jin Yihong’s Jin Pharmaceutical Group. As for Wu Ting’s little company, it was of no consequence.

Besides, according to his plan, once he took down Jin Pharmaceutical Group, it would only be a matter of time before Wu Ting’s company was his for the taking.

Wu Ting refused Xie Bin bluntly.

”Thank you, but no, President Xie. Our team has sufficient initial funding for our current development. Besides, we do not accept capital injections from multinational corporations.”

With that, Wu Ting and Deng Feifei left the signing ceremony.

Watching them leave, Xie Bin’s smile never faltered. He remained the picture of a refined and courteous gentleman.

’Let Jin Pharmaceutical Group enjoy its last few days.’

Xie Bin’s investment in Fan City’s traditional Chinese medicine raw material bases today was, of course, just one part of his plan.

’Right now, thanks to my interlocking schemes, Jin Pharmaceutical Group has already completed nearly ten billion in equity financing. Both of their projects are accelerating R&D and rollout, and cash is continuously pouring in. They’re already past the point of no return!’

Xie Bin glanced at his gold Rolex, tapped his finger on it a few times, and muttered coldly to himself.

”The countdown has begun...”

After the signing ceremony, the ”Fan City Pharmaceutical and Medical Venture Capital Fund” directly transferred ten million into Wu’s Pharmaceutical Company’s account.

This money was earmarked for purchasing laboratory equipment.

As the R&D manager for Jin Pharmaceutical Group, Deng Feifei was, after all, very experienced.

She immediately began procuring the necessary equipment.

As this was a new drug R&D laboratory, Wu Ting was having it built to the highest specifications:

Basic Chemistry Lab:

This included lab benches, wash stations, fume hoods, in-lab research spaces, computer stations, chemical cabinets, glassware cabinets, first aid equipment, and more...

Instrumental Analysis Lab:

This would primarily house various large-scale precision analytical instruments and include dedicated spaces for gas chromatography, liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, spectroscopy, and more...

Procurement for various auxiliary labs was also underway:

A balance room, a high-temperature room, a purified water room, a solution preparation room, a darkroom, etc...

And the essential special gas distribution system...

In short, thanks to Deng Feifei’s meticulous planning, Wu Ting could already see the blueprint of his own laboratory taking shape.

All that was left was to wait for the laboratory building’s completion in three months, at which point they could begin moving in the purchased equipment.

The following days were both fulfilling and hectic for Wu Ting.

It was another one of his ER shift days, and Wu Ting was partnered with Yasui.

Around noon, two men rushed into the emergency department. Both were workers from a nearby construction site.

The patient was a twenty-seven-year-old carpenter. While processing wood at the construction site, a machine had sliced through his right index finger, severing a section of it.

His coworkers had applied a simple bandage at the site. To stop the bleeding, they had also used a folk remedy: breaking open a cigarette and pressing the tobacco onto the wound.

The entire finger was wrapped in a piece of white cloth that was now completely soaked and matted with blood.
