Chapter 310: Chapter 220: Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Liver Tumor Building

Song Yunfan was a social media blogger on the Kuaiyin platform, focusing primarily on the medical field.

Early this morning, he received a private message.

”1,500 yuan to repost a commentary on Jin Pharmaceutical Group’s new original drug, the Yangzheng Xiujie Pill, an anti-tumor traditional Chinese medicine.”

Song Yunfan had over 30,000 followers and was a reasonably well-regarded original content creator in the medical field. He had graduated with a degree in pharmacy.

So, he knew a bit about Jin Pharmaceutical Group and immediately started chatting with the client.

He was told he just needed to post it directly without any edits, which was easy work. However, he still asked for the original article and read it carefully.

”...Under the leadership of Chairman Jin Yihong, Jin Pharmaceutical Group, led by Chief Scientist Lou Musaang and with Dr. Jia Jun in charge, has completed Phase III clinical trials for the original drug Yangzheng Xiujie Pill. It is about to undergo approval and be launched on the market... This is an original drug independently developed by a local pharmaceutical company in our own Jin Province. It can mitigate toxic effects such as the reduction of white blood cells, while protecting liver function and boosting immunity and hemoglobin levels...”

After reading it, Song Yunfan was a little surprised. He hadn’t realized Jin Pharmaceutical Group was so capable to have developed such an original drug. It could be said to fill a void in the country for a traditional Chinese medicine used in combination therapy for primary liver cancer.

It had enormous market potential!

Song Yunfan used his network of contacts to verify that Jin Pharmaceutical Group did indeed have such a project in development. Once he had basically confirmed the article’s content was true, Song Yunfan readily accepted the payment.

And just like with Song Yunfan, news about Jin Pharmaceutical Group’s upcoming new drug, the Yangzheng Xiujie Pill, swept across various social media platforms.

The articles embellished and depicted the difficult yet inspiring story of three elite women—Jin Yihong, Lou Musaang, and Jia Jun—independently developing a domestic original drug.

The entire tone of the articles was to evoke sympathy and support from the public and users by praising and lauding the three women.

In no time, the hype around Jin Pharmaceutical Group skyrocketed.

Meanwhile, the Pfizer Jin Country Research and Development Center in Xianglin City held a press conference.

At the conference, the center’s Chief Scientist, Xu Kunlin, announced a brand-new drug development project.

This project would directly compete with Jin Pharmaceutical Group’s soon-to-be-launched Yangzheng Xiujie Pill.

Pfizer’s new research would focus on extracting relevant compounds from Dendrobium officinale and Artemisia capillaris, which would then be combined with other traditional Chinese medicine formulas to create a competitor to the Yangzheng Xiujie Pill.

To accelerate the development speed, Pfizer Jin Country immediately began acquiring and investing in numerous raw material bases for traditional Chinese medicine within Jin Province.

In particular, they planned to build a processing plant for the medicinal herb Artemisia capillaris in Fan City.

As the first phase of investment, Pfizer Pharmaceutical announced it would successively invest two billion yuan into the research and development of this new drug.

The news sent shockwaves through the industry.

The laudatory article about Jin Pharmaceutical Group that Song Yunfan had posted went viral, gaining him over 10,000 new followers and more than 3,000 likes.

While he was still excited, the same client sent him another article, again offering 1,500 yuan.

The article’s title was something like: ”Domestic Pharmaceutical R&D Strengthens, Yet Local Innovators Are Frequently Acquired by Foreign Capital—But Jin Pharmaceutical Group Says No to Pfizer!”

The article vividly described how, before Jin Pharmaceutical Group’s new drug, the Yangzheng Xiujie Pill, had passed Phase III clinical trials, President Xie Bin of Pfizer’s Jin Country District had visited Jin Yihong’s team with Xu Kunlin.

At the time, President Xie had proposed an exorbitant offer to acquire the production line for the Yangzheng Xiujie Pill project, but it was sternly rejected by Jin Yihong’s team, and the meeting ended on bad terms. This, the article claimed, was what led a furious and humiliated Pfizer to immediately begin developing a competing product to crush the local pharmaceutical company!

The article also described how many innovative domestic pharmaceutical companies had been acquired by overseas firms after their technology had improved.

These takeovers happened through various means, including technology licensing, product licensing deals, and mergers and acquisitions.

This resulted in many promising domestic pharmaceutical companies having their core products, still in development, snatched up by foreign enterprises. After all, multinational pharmaceutical giants have a financial advantage, possessing enough capital to acquire and consume the innovative power of local companies.

The article expressed praise and delight for the improving innovation and R&D capabilities of local companies, but it also conveyed a sense of helplessness and sorrow that these ”saplings” were being uprooted by multinational corporations in their early stages.

The article’s ultimate point was that in the face of a potential acquisition by the powerful Pfizer, Jin Pharmaceutical Group stayed true to its original mission and bravely said no.

The goal was to stir up support and approval for Jin Pharmaceutical Group through this narrative.

After reading it, Song Yunfan judged, ’This seems like a pretty righteous article.’ He found his own emotions stirred and was filled with admiration. ’What a powerful businesswoman! A true role model for leaders of independent, domestic pharmaceutical companies!’

Song Yunfan once again took the money and reposted the article.

Before long, news of this was spreading across all social media.

Netizens proactively supported Jin Pharmaceutical Group while denouncing Pfizer Pharmaceutical.

Some industry professionals even offered their analysis: at the current pace, Jin Pharmaceutical Group’s Yangzheng Xiujie Pill would be on the market very soon. Meanwhile, Pfizer Group was just starting to develop its competing drug. By the time they managed to produce it, Jin Pharmaceutical Group’s new drug would have already captured the market.
