Doctor: I Can Synthesize Infinite Entries

Chapter 186: Chapter 170: Returning to City First Hospital, a Grand Display of Skill

He Qiang, thirty-seven years old, was a fishing enthusiast.

By day, he was an assembly line worker at a factory near his home. After a long day of work, his greatest form of recreation was to go wild fishing.

After dinner, He Qiang prepared to go fishing as usual, paying no mind to his wife and child at home.

His wife chased after him.

”If you go fishing tonight, I’m not letting you back home!”

He Qiang glanced back at her with a glare and continued on his way.

His wife continued to threaten him, ”He Qiang, if I let you back in this house today, I have no self-respect left!”

He Qiang didn’t even turn his head.

His wife’s threats grew feeble. ”Get your ass back here!”

He Qiang glanced back one more time before continuing on the path to his fishing spot.

He packed his fishing gear, hopped on his motorcycle, and headed for a spot on the outskirts of town. The place he fished was right next to a construction site.

He never would have expected that, just as he was excitedly approaching his destination on his motorcycle, a concrete mixer truck would pull out from behind a temporary barricade.

It was late at night on a remote road, and close to the riverbank. The truck driver never imagined someone would suddenly come tearing down the road here.

He didn’t have time to brake and slammed right into the motorcycle. After all, a key survival tip for truck drivers is to slow down, not swerve.

The subsequent compensation would be handled by insurance anyway. If he had swerved suddenly, the truck could have flipped, killing him instead.

How could a motorcycle possibly win in a collision with a concrete mixer?

He Qiang and his motorcycle were sent flying over twenty meters. His fishing tackle scattered across the ground. A large part of his chest was caved in, his ribs were fractured, and the condition of his internal organs was unknown.

He Qiang fainted instantly, losing consciousness.

The terrified truck driver got out and immediately called the police and 120 for an ambulance.

He Qiang’s wife waited at home for a long time, but he never returned. He didn’t answer her calls or reply to her messages. Furious, she blocked his number and all his messaging apps.

She sent one final voice message: ”If you don’t want to come back, then stay out. You don’t have to come back to this family ever again.”

...

...

In the Emergency Department.

Wu Ting had just returned to the on-call room. He was the second-tier doctor on duty tonight; the first-tier doctors were the old partners, Yasui and Cheng Feng.

Yasui and Cheng Feng were chatting idly. The hottest topic these last couple of days was, of course, the arrival of Zhang Heng and the three major surgeries he performed right after taking his new post.

”This Director Zhang is really something. Even Director Qin was completely outclassed.”

”Yeah, especially with that research project of his. If that gets off the ground, the potential is limitless.”

Both of them were full of admiration.

”Then you should talk to Director Huo and have him recommend you for Director Zhang’s research team.”

Cheng Feng was a die-hard fan of Wu Ting, so of course he wouldn’t go.

Yasui shook his head. ”I’m with you. I still want to follow Dr. Wu. Director Zhang is brilliant, but I don’t think he’s here for the long haul. He’ll probably finish up this project at City First Hospital and then leave for a better platform.”

Cheng Feng teased, ”Wouldn’t that be even better? You could go with him.”

Yasui chuckled softly. ”No, thanks. I feel more secure following Dr. Wu. I’ve made obvious progress under him recently. Besides, isn’t Dr. Wu about to start a new research project, too? It won’t necessarily be inferior to Director Zhang’s.”

”Good to know you’ve got good judgment.”

Cheng Feng was also a staunch supporter of Wu Ting. But the department was large and full of competing interests. Plenty of people had decided to be fence-sitters, openly and secretly pledging their loyalty to Zhang Heng. After all, Director Zhang’s skill and background were undeniable.

Joining Director Zhang’s team now meant you’d be one of the founding members, and you would certainly reap the greatest benefits.

As Yasui and Cheng Feng were chatting, Xiao Xixi rushed over anxiously.

”Yasui, quick, notify the second-tier doctor and come with me. We just got a call from the emergency center. A patient was in a car accident, condition is critical. We need to perform emergency care in the ambulance.”

”The patient has fractured ribs and possible internal organ damage...”

Hearing Xiao Xixi’s words, Yasui’s expression turned grim.

The second-tier doctor on duty today was Wu Ting. Director Qin and Director Huo certainly couldn’t get here that fast.

Moreover, the doctors who typically ride in ambulances were usually junior residents. Yasui was already considered relatively experienced.

After a moment’s thought, Yasui went to get Wu Ting.

The two of them followed Xiao Xixi and the driver, Old Zhou, and set off at once!

Old Zhou, the driver, also held Wu Ting in high regard. He quickly got the ambulance to the scene of the accident.

When they saw He Qiang, the sight made Xiao Xixi’s and the others’ skin crawl. His chest was a complete mess, a clear sign of fractured ribs.

They immediately lifted the patient onto the ambulance.

Xiao Xixi and Wu Ting immediately began emergency treatment, monitoring all his vital signs.

However, looking at the patient’s condition, Xiao Xixi’s face darkened.

”The patient’s condition is far from ideal. His blood pressure is very low, and his vital signs are weak. There’s no telling what the situation inside his chest cavity is!”

Yasui was only a senior resident. He had never seen a situation like this and could only perform the most basic first aid measures, which were clearly not enough right now.

”The patient might have a ruptured organ and major internal bleeding!”

Both Xiao Xixi and Wu Ting had reached this conclusion.

But it was difficult to determine the state of his internal organs inside the ambulance.

Wu Ting acted decisively. ”Sister Xiao, assist me. I’m going to perform an abdominal paracentesis on the patient!”

Hearing the words ”abdominal paracentesis” again, both Yasui and Xiao Xixi’s eyes lit up. After all, Wu Ting had a proven record of success with this procedure.
