Doctor: I Can Synthesize Infinite Entries

Chapter 169: Chapter 155: The Job Fair: Meeting an Old Classmate Again

”Dr. Wang must have had another breakthrough.”

”Dr. Wang has treated so many patients who needed an ERCP these last few days. All that experience is paying off, and now he’s reached a new height.”

”Impressive, so impressive.”

The training simulator only recorded the time, so no one imagined anyone else could achieve such a result.

After all, Dr. Wang was the only one not around. Since it wasn’t any of them, it had to be him.

”No wonder Dr. Wang just made a brief appearance today and left. He must have come last night for some intense training. He’s in a league of his own.”

”Looks like we need to work harder, too. We have to try and finish the six tasks as soon as possible so we can assist Dr. Wang in clinical procedures.”

Inspired by Dr. Wang’s new record, everyone redoubled their training efforts.

But they kept failing at the very first task. Even when they managed to succeed, it took them over a minute at a minimum.

And then there was Dr. Wang’s fastest record: just five seconds!

”That’s insane!”

Over the next few days, Wu Ting and Dr. Wang seemed to have an unspoken agreement. Neither of them showed up in the training room.

They were both busy completing their own surgeries.

The week quickly drew to a close.

Next up was the matriculation ceremony for the Jinggang University Medical School Graduate Department.

Wu Ting, of course, couldn’t skip it. In addition to the ceremony, he had intensive classes to attend. So, he set off for Xiao City in advance.

Dr. Wang and Yan Xi were representatives for the outstanding graduates. Yan Xi was a direct-entry Ph.D. student at Haijin Port and had always been based there, making her a very popular ”goddess” figure.

As for Wang Nanjin, he had done his undergraduate studies at Jinggang University Medical College, then went to Union for his master’s and doctorate. After graduating with his Ph.D., he was recruited by Haijin Port as special talent, receiving several million in just a settling-in allowance.

Now, at such a young age, he was already an attending physician in hepatobiliary surgery—a true prodigy.

On this trip to City First Hospital, Wang Nanjin performed numerous ERCP procedures, got to know Wu Ting, and had already more than fulfilled his objectives.

With only a day or two left, he departed from City First Hospital ahead of schedule and returned to Haijin Port.

...

...

Before the graduate school matriculation ceremony, Huo Yun returned to the emergency department.

He went straight to Wu Ting to inform him of a few important matters.

”Wu Ting, our talent recruitment plan for the emergency department and the research center will be rolling out soon.”

”I’ve been visiting a lot of hospitals and doing a lot of scouting. I have a preliminary list of candidates. I’ll be approaching the high-level talent on that list individually. Once they’ve confirmed, we’ll invite them to join our research center.”

”I wanted to give you a heads-up. No matter what, you and Jiang Ming will remain the core of the research center. However, these new doctors are elites in the field, so we’ll be allocating significant resources and personnel to them. You need to be ready for that. I hope you’ll all be able to work together harmoniously.”

After all, top-tier talent often comes with strong personalities. Huo Yun was giving Wu Ting a heads-up. If cooperation was possible, great. If not, Huo Yun would, of course, back Wu Ting unconditionally and let any troublemakers go.

”Besides high-level talent, Jinggang University Medical College’s campus recruitment fair is also being held during this year’s graduate student matriculation ceremony.”

”This is a deliberate move by Jinggang University Medical College. They want the new students and their parents to see how competitive their graduates are. Top-tier hospitals from all over the country, especially from within Jin Province, will be there to recruit, along with famous research institutes, leading pharmaceutical companies, and so on.”

”Our City First Hospital will be sending a team this time, too. And since you’ll be there for a few days to go through the formalities and attend the ceremony anyway...”

”When you have free time, you can stop by our recruitment booth, do a little promotion, help collect resumes, and scout for some promising talent. You can forward me the ones you think are a good fit.”

”After all, this new batch of hires will primarily be supporting the work of your research center.”

Between the lines, Huo Yun was giving Wu Ting a great deal of authority and freedom.

He hoped that Wu Ting, as the head of the research center, would be satisfied with this new round of hires.

Of course, sending Wu Ting to the job fair was also a way to present a positive image of City First Hospital’s doctors. With his top-tier looks and skills, Wu Ting was the perfect representative for the quality of City First Hospital’s Emergency Department (Research Center).

”You got it. I’ll be sure to give my full support to the colleagues from HR.”

Wu Ting cherished this opportunity. It was a rare experience.

After all, young doctors like him were usually the ones being evaluated. The thought of going out for the first time to represent the City First Hospital Emergency Department (Research Center) and scout for talent was actually a little exciting.

Plus, Director Huo had given him the authority to make recommendations.

”Wu Ting, if you have any friends or classmates in medicine who are good, you can invite them to submit their resumes too.”

Huo Yun offered a few more words of encouragement.

...

...

Early the next morning.

On the plaza in front of the First Teaching Building of Jinggang University Medical College, hundreds of companies from Jin Province had arrived.

It was like a World’s Fair. Each booth represented a top-tier company, hospital, or research institution.

Wu Ting was blown away by the scene.

’A top university, indeed! Only at a job fair for a prestigious institution like this would you see so many great employers.’

’Just a few months ago, I wouldn’t have even been qualified to hand in my resume at a place like this.’

The City First Hospital booth was set up toward the back of the central area. Joining Wu Ting this time were two colleagues from the HR department.

They were both women in their thirties, and they were delighted to see Wu Ting come to help.

After all, a handsome young man was always a welcome sight for women in their early thirties.

The two of them chattered away with Wu Ting. His reputation at City First Hospital had grown quite prominent recently.

As Wu Ting chatted with the two women from HR, students and parents would occasionally stop by to ask questions.

Seeing Wu Ting made these students and parents feel instantly at ease. It was undeniable that he projected the perfect image of a highly-qualified doctor from City First Hospital.

Some of the female students, in particular, were eager to submit their resumes after learning Wu Ting was a recruiting doctor representing City First Hospital. They even asked for his contact information for future questions.

Wu Ting was poised and gracious. In his mission to recruit the best talent for City First Hospital, he turned no one away!

Of course, besides Wu Ting’s appeal, Fan City First Hospital itself is also very well-known, and its comprehensive capabilities are also very strong.

Moreover, Fan City itself is located in the Central Angle, adjacent to both Xianglin City and Xiao City, giving it a prime geographical location.

For outstanding graduates who couldn’t secure a position in Xiao City or Xianglin City, getting a job at Fan City First Hospital was an ideal alternative.

Tang Yunyun and Yu Yamin were graduating this year, and they came to the recruitment site, nervous and full of expectation.

They had both prepared several copies of their resumes.

They looked through the booths one by one, but the competition to get into the top hospitals in Xiao City was just too fierce.

Tang Yunyun’s undergraduate degree wasn’t from a top school, and even in graduate school, her performance was merely average.

After looking at a few booths, her confidence began to waver.

”Yunyun, didn’t your classmate say City First Hospital would be recruiting today? Why don’t we go check out their booth? You could ask your classmate to put in a good word.”

Yu Yamin thought of the handsome guy they met that day.

”Wu Ting? Forget it. He’s still trying to get into our graduate program. His situation is even worse than mine, how could he possibly help me?”

”Besides, at a recruitment event like this, only department directors or center heads from City First Hospital have any real say. He’s just a non-affiliated resident. Let’s not. It would put him in an awkward position, and I’d be embarrassed.”

”But we can still go check out the City First Hospital booth. All things considered, with our qualifications, we should have a decent shot.”

Tang Yunyun and Yu Yamin went to look at the venue layout map and quickly located City First Hospital’s recruitment position.

The two of them made their way over, but just as they approached the booth, they heard a familiar voice:

”Tang Yunyun!”

”Hey, come on over! We at City First Hospital are hiring. Interested in taking a look? I can tell you all about it.”

Wu Ting was very enthusiastic. He was happy to give a recommendation to a classmate if he could. After all, he knew firsthand how ridiculously competitive the job market was these days.

Tang Yunyun hadn’t expected to see Wu Ting here and couldn’t quite figure out what his role was.

Yu Yamin, on the other hand, greeted him excitedly. ”Hey, handsome Dr. Wu! We meet again. I didn’t expect you’d be here collecting resumes! This is great.”

Seeing that they were Wu Ting’s classmates, the two women from HR also greeted them warmly.

Tang Yunyun and Yu Yamin sat down, and Wu Ting handed them a copy of the recruitment plan and started to explain it.

The two HR women took their resumes, made a few notes, and added a small star next to their names.

The note read: Emergency Department (Research Center) internal referral, Wu Ting.

Tang Yunyun noticed this, her disbelief growing, and couldn’t help but ask:

”Wu Ting, I thought you just had a bachelor’s and were doing a non-affiliated residency at City First Hospital. How are you here representing the hospital for recruitment? Don’t tell me you actually got a permanent position there. Are you a third-party hire or a contract worker?”

After Tang Yunyun finished speaking, the two HR women beside her just smiled.

”Tang Yunyun, you really don’t know what your old classmate has been up to at City First Hospital, do you?”

”He’s on the permanent staff! Not only that, he’s the rising star of our emergency department, Director Huo’s protégé. He’s published multiple papers in core journals, improved several surgical techniques, and repeatedly distinguished himself in critical patient rescues. He’s also the head of the very emergency department research center you’re applying to, the chief resident of the laparoscopy research center, and the future leader of a National Youth Fund project!”

Listening to the long list of titles the HR women rattled off, Tang Yunyun was completely stunned.

’Is this really the Wu Ting I know?’

”Isn’t he having a hard time at work and trying to get into our graduate department?”

Tang Yunyun still thought the two women were just joking with her.

”Dr. Wu’s graduate program isn’t like yours. It’s a joint training program between City First Hospital and Jinggang University Medical College. They gave Dr. Wu a whole list of potential advisors to choose from.”

”It’s just to add another credential to his resume. You get it, sweetie.”

The HR woman had a sharp eye. She’d noticed Tang Yunyun’s earlier dismissive and slightly contemptuous attitude toward Wu Ting, and she was intentionally laying it on thick to defend him and give the girl a shock.

Thinking back on her attitude toward Wu Ting, Tang Yunyun’s face flushed with shame.

Wu Ting just smiled faintly. ”Tang Yunyun, don’t listen to them ramble. If you’re really interested in applying to City First Hospital, I’ll put in a good word for you.”

Just then, a few more people came to submit their resumes.

Tang Yunyun and Yu Yamin were pushed aside by the crowd, which gave them a chance to escape. Otherwise, Tang Yunyun would have wanted the ground to swallow her whole.

”Yunyun, maybe they were just joking. Anyway, the resume is submitted. The matriculation ceremony is about to start, let’s go to the auditorium.”

Tang Yunyun grunted in agreement, her mind a complete blank.

Yu Yamin comforted her:

”Try not to think about your classmate. Let’s just look forward to the speeches from the goddess, Yan Xi, and the campus heartthrob, Wang Nanjin.”

While Yu Yamin and Tang Yunyun were heading off to the matriculation ceremony, Wu Ting also bid farewell to the two HR representatives and went to attend the same event.

’No need to draw attention to myself,’ Wu Ting thought. ’I’ll just keep a low profile and get through the ceremony.’
