Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

After all, being wrapped around by Lucas Yates for so many years, is it true that she can’t bear even a little hardship?

Moreover, the workload and the pay are already quite reasonable.

”I’m sorry...”

Avery Jane choked back her tears, not wanting the person on the other end of the line to hear her sadness.

She clearly didn’t want to leave, but if she stayed in this city one more second, she’d go crazy.

”Avery Jane, listen to me, don’t be anxious, listen to me first.” Angela Scott urgently wanted to calm Avery Jane down.

She was so anxious that she almost started to babble incoherently: ”Our start is very good, this advertisement will definitely make you famous, Avery Jane don’t just give up, if you leave without any explanation now, even just the penalty for breach of contract will be unbearable for you, you’ll end up in jail and no advertiser will ever use you again.”

Jail, such a terrifying word, but compared to that man, it seemed like jail would be a relief.

”If there’s anything, you can say it, maybe Mr. Hughes can help you solve it, I think he really values you.” Angela Scott didn’t know what to say at this moment; Joshua Hughes was already their boss, and if an employee had an issue, he could help solve it.

But at that moment, she could hear the airport announcements on the other end of the phone.

Avery Jane was at the airport?

Angela Scott hung up the phone and rushed out of the office frantically, taking a taxi and urging the driver, ”Hurry up, to the airport, fast...”

She didn’t know if she would make it in time to stop her.

The new model wanted to breach the contract?

In this kind of company, you must be very cautious even when talking on the phone. Although Angela Scott was already hiding in the bathroom to make the call, she didn’t notice the woman sitting in the closed stall next to her.

Lisa had a pleased smile on her face.

This Avery Jane, she really underestimated her.

She had already secured Grant’s annual endorsement and even signed the contract, yet somehow Avery Jane managed to snatch this year’s major shoot, Beckett Wright’s ”Time Legend,” away from her.

But now? She took the contract and ran, what delightful news.

Shouldn’t such news be shared with everyone? To save the company from loss, shouldn’t she report it to the general manager?

Before she runs away, they should catch her, otherwise, the company might owe Grant a huge breach of contract fee.

Thinking like this, her steps became light and joyful.

The morning at the Hughes’s household felt a bit eerie.

Last night, Joshua Hughes came back alone, then Miss Yates came back too, but her eyes were swollen like walnuts from crying.

Early this morning, Miss Yates got up early and went down to the kitchen to brew coffee and make sandwiches. It looked like she was preparing breakfast for the young master. The servants watched from a distance, not daring to approach, knowing this Miss Yates did not have a good temper.

In the dining room, Joshua Hughes was flipping through the newspaper, with his usual breakfast of black coffee and a sandwich on the table.

The servants stood trembling, as Miss Yates insisted on making breakfast. But she didn’t realize that the young master’s breakfast, though seemingly simple, was very particular and the hardest to prepare.

The thickness of the ham, whether the eggs were perfectly fried, and the toasting of the bread were all very specific. There was a chef who only prepared breakfast for the young master, so they knew his tastes very well.

But now?

The delicate plate indeed had a sandwich, yet inexplicably there were a pile of golden corn kernels, and a small bunch of shredded lettuce, looking like the knife work wasn’t very good with uneven thickness. From afar it looked okay, but who knew how the young master would react?

Would he eat it, or not?

Putting down the newspaper, after taking a sip of coffee, Joshua Hughes said coldly, with a hint of displeasure in his voice, ”Who made this?”

The temperature was different, the aroma was different, the taste was different; it wasn’t the coffee he usually had.

The chef had been making breakfast for over fifteen years without any mistakes, but today’s breakfast was completely different. The plate in front of him made his eyes instantly cold, and for a moment, the servants in the dining room shivered slightly.

”Joshua, do you want to try a different flavor? I also made wontons.” Evelyn Yates laughed while bringing in a tray. She had not noticed the change in atmosphere around her.
