Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

”I just want to eat.” Evelyn Yates said unhappily, not expecting Avery Jane to have the audacity to openly refuse her.

And to openly refuse her in front of Joshua Hughes, this made it hard for her to keep face.

It was an undeniable fact that she was born to the second wife, but she couldn’t be so presumptuous, not even if Lucas Yates was still around today to protect her.

”Besides, you have to come to the Hughes Family every day to make it for me.” The haughty tone when mentioning the Hughes Family, with a condescending air, destroyed the serene and elegant vibe of the entire garden.

”There are so many chefs at Mr. Hughes’ home, if I went, it would just be like showing off my insignificant skills before an expert, Evelyn, don’t joke around.” Avery Jane picked up the earthenware teapot and poured in boiling hot water.

Making tangyuan, it felt like something from the last century, on very cold winter nights, Wenyard Cooper loved eating a bowl of hot sweet treats, peanut tangyuan was his favorite, he always finished them utterly clean, then put down the bowl with a satisfied smile, his face that tugged at her heartstrings seemed right in front of her, as if it was just yesterday, still right in front of her.

”So, Sister-in-law is unwilling?” The commanding tone slowly became somewhat uncontrollable, she was so embarrassed in front of Joshua Hughes, Avery Jane did it on purpose, she couldn’t bear to let others have the happiness she never got, she just couldn’t stand to see others possess beautiful love.

”I’ve said, you can eat something else.” Avery Jane quietly spoke in a tone as calm as water, with not a hint of compromise.

In this life, no one would ever again make her devote her heart and soul to making a bowl of peanut tangyuan.

The air suddenly tightened, thick with bubbles as if suffocating.

In the dark bushes, a pair of malicious eyes burned like fire, Harper Johnson watched secretly at everything unfolding.

This damned woman, how dare she make her daughter lose face in front of Joshua Hughes, today with Joshua Hughes supporting her and her daughter, she could properly teach that woman a lesson.

Harper Johnson rushed forward, suddenly picked up the boiling hot water, and harshly poured it onto Avery Jane’s jade-like hand, it all happened so fast, so fast that Avery Jane didn’t manage to pull her hand back in time...

”Harper, don’t...” Everything came so unexpectedly, a cry of fear sounded from Remi Wright in the serene little garden.

The pure white hand with the most graceful shape, instantly became red and swollen, with a stinging pain that pierced her heart like the most venomous insect biting hard, Avery Jane was a bit stunned, everything happening before her seemed unbelievable.

Her little face instantly went pale, lips that lost color trembled slightly, she gave a bleak smile, it’s fine to be scalded, this way she wouldn’t have to make peanut tangyuan.

Her pale little face was like a pitiable little flower, causing an involuntary twitch in Joshua Hughes’ heart, her hand, once alluringly milky white like jade, now entirely red and blistered.

”You will make it right now, today Mr. Hughes is here, the Yates Family cannot lack family rules, if you don’t make it, then Sister, it’s because you failed to teach well.” Harper Johnson blocked Remi Wright from helping Avery Jane to the little building, today they wouldn’t lower their heads, it would be even more difficult in the future, since Joshua Hughes agreed to let her become the legitimate wife, she had to display the air of a mistress.

”Harper, Little Avery has injured her hand, I’ll take her to the hospital for treatment, I’m afraid this will leave scars.” Remi Wright looked at Avery Jane’s hand with heartache, all red and swollen, already starting to blister.

”No way, today she must do it, whether she wants to or not.” Harper Johnson looked at Joshua Hughes’ increasingly gloomy face, how could things have ended up like this the first time?

Her daughter was now favored, she couldn’t let Joshua Hughes be unhappy.

”Little Avery, what happened to your hand?” Brian Yates heard sounds from the little garden and rushed down.

Seeing Avery Jane’s hand, her once jade-like hand lost its beautiful grace, swollen beyond recognition.

Brian Yates was filled with distress: ”I’ll take you to the hospital, it will get infected if not treated.” He held Avery Jane’s hand, about to rush out.

”Brother, what are you doing, I want her to make peanut tangyuan for me.” Evelyn Yates watched Joshua Hughes’ face, cold to the extreme, with an expression in his eyes that was hard to fathom.

Would he think she was a child of the second wife, and didn’t hold status in this family, looking down on her?
