Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

”Glass Palace.” Avery Jane whispered, bowing her head and wondering how much unbearable consequence would result from today’s actions of this man.

Joshua Hughes remained silent, one hand on the steering wheel, the other resting against the car window, with a hint of rebelliousness in his eyes growing stronger.

Glass Palace, the French cuisine here is the most famous, and of course, the price is quite substantial. To book a table, it probably needs more than five days in advance. No woman would invite another woman to eat in such a place, so the one inviting her must be a man, a deeply calculative man.

He no longer displayed his previous domineering and fierce manner but appeared somewhat lazy: ”Tell me about your past.”

He wanted to know about her past, but he didn’t want to learn from anyone else’s investigation or narration; he wanted to hear it from her.

”My past is simple. At fifteen, I met Wenyard Cooper. When I was seventeen, my father died. After burying him, I got engaged to Wenyard, and later he had a car accident.” She described her past with just this sentence, but Joshua could hear the desolation in her voice.

The simpler the statement, the more it indicates so many unrelieved pains.

She didn’t want to say more, so he didn’t ask further.

The car cabin fell into a deathlike silence until the vehicle came to a steady stop at the entrance of the Glass Palace.

Joshua gently stroked her hair, soft and smooth, the untreated black hair had a natural sheen. He lightly picked up a strand, while Avery dared not move or resist; the more this man appeared calm, the more dangerous he was.

”Avery Jane, eventually you’ll have to sell your body and soul, but this sponsor can only be me. Remember, if anyone dares to touch you, it’s death.”

His hot breath fell on her bare skin, his strong bridge of the nose lightly passing through her hair strands, his fiery lips landing a gentle kiss on her cheek, like a butterfly landing on the stamens.

His tender gesture caught Avery by surprise, leaving her uncertain of what to do for a moment. She knew she should avoid him, yet she couldn’t help but feel invaded by his breath, making her unable to resist.

Joshua’s eyes carried a scarcely detectable darkness. The real game begins now, after today, I want to see how you’ll stand firm in the Yates Family.

The splendid Glass Palace is a restaurant specializing in authentic French cuisine. Although they have authentic French chefs, aside from the original French dishes, they have made some innovations based on the original.

The entire Glass Palace is assembled from large sections of special glass material, decorated inside with exquisite royal roses. The silver dining utensils on the table are breathtakingly exquisite, whether it’s the alluring gourmet dish or the lavish and noble decorations.

Avery no longer felt anything towards all of this. In her ear, Joshua’s words faintly echoed: she was ultimately going to sell her soul and flesh, but the sponsor could only be him.

Although his tone was light at the time, it was enough to intimidate her.

Her small hands clenched tightly, unconsciously her nails almost dug into her palm.

Beckett Wright gently asked: ”Avery Jane, don’t you like it here?”

”Oh, no.” Avery was pulled back to reality by Beckett’s words, and she embarrassedly lowered her head and smiled slightly.

”Mr. Wright, is the contract you mentioned the previous one?” She thought she had no chance, but unexpectedly, things had taken a turn.

Beckett looked at Avery, truly she possessed a beauty enriched through experience.

This beauty shouldn’t appear at her age, yet she still had a youthful and absolutely stunning face, but also exuded an indescribable aloofness, like the most solitary flower blooming on an ice field.

Beckett withdrew from his reverie, seriously saying: ”Yes, Grant’s products are flooding Asia this year, and I’ve already made a strong statement to the company that my Time Legend can only be interpreted by you because that so-called supermodel is completely unsuitable. Furthermore, I’ll personally participate and follow up on this advertisement film, I’ve secured you a suitable remuneration, although not as substantial as before, but Avery, can you agree?”

Beckett was a bit nervous, fearing she would say no because his intuition told him Avery is a girl with pride and self-respect, not like the young girls nowadays willing to do anything for a contract, and the contract that originally belonged to her she can only get a part of it now, she might reject him.
