Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

Avery Jane hoped they would all disappear immediately.

Fear, helplessness, self-blame, despair—every distinct emotion mixed together, long eyelashes trembling like the powerless wings of a butterfly drenched in rain, flapping with a hint of melancholy, making anyone who saw her feel a pang of tenderness.

So earnest in her desire to accomplish something, yet meeting obstacles everywhere.

She was truly exhausted and despairing, but at this moment, even if someone resembling Wenyard Cooper showed concern for her, that concern was not what she wanted. That person was not Wenyard, so it meant nothing.

Sometimes people are just strange like that; if the feeling is off, no matter how much is given, it’s all in vain.

Just like Brian Yates.

International Airport

People came and went, each hurrying on their own, and no one noticed that small figure appearing like a wisp of white ghost, quiet to the point of seeming to lack breath itself.

Departure.

From the moment she lay in that man’s arms yesterday, she thought of leaving.

Disgust, nausea, being toyed with in such a manner—she felt so dirty. Even though she hadn’t been truly possessed by him, she was no longer pure.

If she continued to sink into this city, she would eventually become no different from those women.

Losing herself, seeking only to depend on men, trading young bodies for a few years of enjoyment.

But this long life, she hoped to quietly walk it with someone, and this was also Wenyard Cooper’s wish.

Yet this person was definitely not Joshua Hughes, that demon who toyed with women.

On her body remained his imprint, his kisses covering her chest. When changing in the morning, she saw dark purple blooms scattered like flowers upon her chest, deep and shallow, shocking to the sight.

This man was too terrifying. If one became his captive, fear would plunge them for life, but he was a heartless, emotionless person.

Unable to stay at the Yates Family home, for except for Wenyard, no one in the Yates Family would treat her well.

They only wanted her to help Evelyn Yates secure Joshua Hughes’s heart, but wasn’t it all just using charm on people? That man had no heart. He was merely a desire-driven beast, fiercely cunning, with the most attractive exterior yet lacking the warmth of a ordinary heart.

It wasn’t avoidance, but she truly could not contend with him, as evident in yesterday’s blatant invasion; the saddest part was that it happened in her home, her bedroom.

Watching helplessly as he bullied her, no one dared step forward to stop him, no one dared block him, allowing him to shamelessly act.

Her power was too small to move him in the slightest, leaving might be the best choice.

She never actually wanted to leave; it felt like this place carried her everything.

This city held the most loved and depended-upon person, even if that person was now buried beneath the soil, yet he could still bring her warmth and strength. However, now even the silent existence as a shadow in the Yates Family was impossible.

Luggage went onto the security conveyor, all preparations for boarding completed, then she quietly sat in a corner waiting.

Yet, at that moment, her phone rang: ”Avery, where are you? Today you need to shoot.”

Angela Scott’s voice was filled with urgency and unease; Avery Jane wasn’t someone to be late. She always was very punctual, something must have happened.

”Sorry, Scott, I have to leave.” Avery Jane’s voice was somewhat weak, devoid of her usual assurance, as facing such strong opponents, she truly felt she couldn’t last even a month.

Knowing she was being very irresponsible, but she truly had no retreat left. Continuing like this, she’d be driven mad by that man.

”Are you joking? Avery, you signed a contract! Do you know how much the breach penalty is? Do you still want to help Wenyard’s lab? Tell me what actually happened?” This news for Angela Scott was like a bolt from the blue, something she couldn’t accept.

At this moment, Avery Jane was actually trying to run away? Her career as a model was just starting!

Under Angela’s guidance, this was the first time a print model ran away after signing a deal, especially accepting such a big ad and then running.

What was Avery Jane thinking? This advertisement was the best start, she was sure to get famous, everything was heading towards good development. She could even see endless streams of money coming toward them. But now, Avery Jane suddenly gave up like this, it was simply incredible.
