Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

”I’m not going to eat you, I just want to have a meal with you.” Looking at her cautious demeanor, Joshua Hughes frowned unhappily.

”I’m not used to eating Western food.” Avery Jane thought of countless excuses, but undoubtedly this was the worst one.

”Habits can be changed.” The man’s tone carried a hint of impatience.

Joshua Hughes looked at the petite woman, giving a brief response, his words were powerful and irrefutable.

He seemed a bit upset, and Avery Jane started having a bad feeling in her heart; this was the precursor to his anger.

Avery Jane took a deep breath, telling herself not to panic, she hadn’t done anything wrong, nor did she have any obligation to accompany this man for dinner.

Even if he was her boss now, she’d already refused the conditions he proposed, so what was the point of dining with him?

Since she had decided from the start to stick to her principles no matter how difficult, there was no reason to be afraid now.

”Mr. Hughes, I really have something to do, I can’t have dinner with you.” Avery Jane stopped walking, standing there, thinking it shouldn’t be difficult to get a ride from this place.

What she should do now was not dining with this man, but going home, taking a good bath, and relaxing after this tense day.

”Are you rejecting me?” Joshua Hughes looked coldly at the woman before him, curling his lips as he slowly approached her.

Looking closely at that little face, getting so close, almost pressing his entire face against hers.

Avery Jane instinctively stepped back: ”Woman, do you really think I’m obsessed with you?”

Joshua Hughes was exuding a terrifying aura, and his gloomy eyes flashed with a frightening light.

Avery Jane’s heart skipped a beat, after a few seconds, she calmly met his gaze: ”I’m not rejecting you, Mr. Hughes, I’m rejecting all men. If Mr. Hughes needs company, I believe Evelyn would be very willing. I’m very tired now, I want to go back and rest.”

Avery Jane’s clear and crisp voice held no trace of regret, which fueled Joshua Hughes’s anger even more, this woman who didn’t know her place.

”Avery Jane, do you think I’m really fond of you?” Joshua Hughes raised his hand, his slender fingers boldly and directly brushed against her cheek, coldly saying: ”Since you won’t eat, let’s do something else. Avery Jane, today you should really learn how to be a woman pleasing to men.”

Avery Jane tried to back away, but it was too late, Joshua Hughes’s hand was already gripping her like a vise, dragging her back into the car.

Only then did Avery Jane feel the danger approaching; indeed, she had provoked him, though she didn’t intend to.

She just didn’t want to have any connection with this dangerous man, she just didn’t want to live in fear, so why did such a simple request provoke him?

”Wait for me at the Yates Family.” Joshua Hughes made a phone call, and Avery Jane was somewhat overwhelmed by his presence.

The temperature in the car dropped to its lowest point, air couldn’t penetrate, like a large cage made of ice with her inside.

Avery Jane looked at the man, his eyes like blades tainted with venom, casually glancing at her, making her feel as if her heart was being slashed by that cold glowing knife, the pain numbing her.

The feeling of barely daring to breathe made her shrink a little; did she really provoke him?

How could such a favored child of the heavens permit a woman’s rejection?

Yet, she was precisely that unappreciative woman; Avery Jane’s heart pounded heavily, filled with fear and that inexplicable pain.

The Yates Family

Evelyn Yates happened to be shopping at the mall, yet she was called back by a phone call on the way before reaching the Hughes Family; it was a call from Joshua Hughes.

Her heart was racing with excitement, it was his first time calling her, she continuously urged the driver: ”Hurry, if you make Joshua wait impatiently, can you take responsibility?”

Sitting in the backseat, her heart was anxious, wishing she could grow wings and fly back to the Yates Family immediately to wait for him.

Two cars almost arrived simultaneously, Evelyn Yates saw Joshua Hughes’s car from a distance.

The car door opened, the man’s tall and elegant figure instantly entered her view, Joshua Hughes opened the passenger door, mercilessly pulling Avery Jane off the car.
