Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

”You called me yourself today, what are you up to, little spirit?” If her aim was to attract his attention, then she had succeeded.

His interest in this little woman deepened, surpassing what he had imagined.

The low male voice carried a husky desire, rising in the quiet room.

Avery Jane’s body stiffened somewhat, she lifted her gaze to meet his; the sight of that overbearingly dominant man with his sharp and profound eyes staring at her brought her enormous pressure. He liked watching her helplessness, Joshua Hughes’ lips curled into a wicked smile.

”I didn’t, Mr. Hughes, I just dialed the wrong number.” Avery suddenly realized that she had indeed called this man’s phone—was he here to the Hughes Family to question her?

Dialed wrong, such a low-level lie was beneath his disdain to expose.

Avery suppressed the panic in her heart, slowly retreating.

”What, are you afraid?” She took a step back, yet he stepped closer, even closer.

Avery sensed an unsettling, dangerous air looming inexorably towards her, until she retreated to the corner of the bed, with no escape.

His tall and robust frame completely enveloped her small figure: ”You dialed wrong? Should I understand this as you hinting to me, that you couldn’t wait to strip and let me admire you?”

The low words almost brushed against her cheek, causing goosebumps to slowly rise over her skin; apart from Wenyard Cooper, he was the first man to speak so closely to her.

”I didn’t, I’m not...” Avery bleakly found her explanation powerless; how could such a special number be dialed wrong?

The chance was practically zero.

Swallowing hard, she hoped she would smoothly escape this ordeal today.

”Is that so?”

Joshua lightly raised an eyebrow, his slender fingers brushing over her jade-like cheek, slowly downward, over her swan-like elegant neck, until the buttons at her neckline.

The sensation under his fingers was delicate, warm, and full of elasticity; his thin lips parted to softly say, ”Your skin’s elasticity is quite good; I wonder if the rest of your body is as alluring as your face?”

The husky tone carried longing as his slender fingers undid the first button, his wicked voice escaping his thin lips: ”Shall we take it off and have a look?”

He was still smiling, the actions still gentle, yet Avery knew the gentler this man behaved, the greater his temper, the more dangerous he was.

Her small face turned pale, a photo of Wenyard was placed on a table not far in the room, he was smiling tenderly.

As enticing as Evelyn in a secluded valley, Joshua’s fingers lightly brushed her neckline, that moist and smooth taut skin was as irresistible as in his memory.

He slowly undid the next button, actions so gentle and slow, like a form of reluctant possession: ”Are you scared? Bold enough to provoke me, how can you not have the courage to bear the consequences?”

His tall frame pressed closer, a suffocating chill in his smile.

Avery stared blankly at the sharp handsome face slowly approaching; she dared not act rashly, as if any struggle would tear her clothes apart like paper.

Perhaps her failure to resist, her pale helplessness, made him happy: ”Undress yourself.”

The low husky voice carried a supreme authority as his eyes locked onto hers, like trying to hypnotize her.

Fate seemed inevitable, maybe truly it was; she had thought of using Joshua Hughes’ name to scare Evelyn Yates and Harper Johnson.

Yet she forgot that everything comes with a price, unexpected it had come so swiftly; merely moments passed, this man had already come to collect it—was it not too heavy a cost?

This can’t be done, not in this room—spotting a moment he relaxed, Avery seized the chance to pull her half-opened clothing to flee; but barely two steps out, her arm was seized tightly by a pair of large hands, her hope of escape shattered.

Her legs weakened, almost collapsing to the ground, yet her body was caught by powerful arms, locking her tightly in an embrace: ”Running, Avery, is useless; today I want you to undress, you must undress. You want to run outside, are you so confident about your body, want everyone to have a look, huh?”

His words carried a plain threat—not undressing here, let everyone see instead, this vile man.

”Why be so stubborn? I’m merely here to obtain what I’m owed; it’s not like I’m taking you today, what’s wrong with letting me watch?” Joshua Hughes favored things hard to tame, like hawks, wild horses.

She was the first woman—more spirited than hawks, more wild than horses—but he liked it; the harder to attain, the more heart-stirring it was.

”I’ve changed my mind; once you undress today, we still have the chance for future encounters. Then I’ll choose a place—the next meeting will be on the bed, no refusal to whatever I wish to do.” His arm embraced her slender waist, low voice and wicked words causing her to tremble uncontrollably.

The strength of his presence was overwhelming, nearly suffocating, as Avery bit her lip hard, trying to escape his breath, yet Joshua’s hand grabbed her little face, turned it back; his hunting gaze locked onto her, her neckline loosed by two buttons barely concealed an intensely alluring curvature.

A gaze dark as the night lost of stars, carrying a devouring mysterious darkness, his large hand suddenly exerted—a few seemingly tight buttons burst open like scattering pebbles, the slight sound seeming in Avery’s ear as terrifying as land falling away.

With her long home attire torn wide open, everything inside was exposed.

Indeed, she was breathtakingly beautiful, irresistible...
