Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 900, The Boss’s Second Stage

Translator: Silavin

Besides the Darkness Ancient God, from the hole beneath it, countless Monsters condensed from the darkness continuously emerged.

These Monsters were naturally left for Jin Zhan to deal with.

Jin Zhan was sharp. He realised early on that the Darkness Ancient God wasn’t something he could handle. Therefore, he kept his distance from Lu Fan, ensuring his absolute safety while also allowing Lu Fan to engage the Darkness Ancient God wholeheartedly without needing to worry about him.

With Jin Zhan present, although these Monsters were numerous and of High Level, they were basically all slain one by one by Jin Zhan, not bringing too much harm to Feather Country’s Sandy Breeze City.

The most intense battle was undoubtedly between Lu Fan and the Darkness Ancient God.

After a series of exchanges, the Darkness Ancient God was clearly suppressed by Lu Fan, falling into a disadvantageous position.

Whether Lin Dong and Ji Ji’s Crowd Control Effect, or Bao Bao, Xing Chen, and Xiao Ye’s High Damage Output, all were difficult for the Darkness Ancient God to withstand.

Moreover, Ye Sha Concealed itself in the air, potentially delivering fatal strikes to the Darkness Ancient God at any moment, causing the Darkness Ancient God to be frequently injured and severely weakened.

It had gathered all its power, bringing its strength to the maximum level it could achieve, yet it still seemed to be useless. Before long, it would be killed by Lu Fan.

When it thought about it, even the Abyss Ancient God had been found and killed by Lu Fan. The Darkness Ancient God was definitely weaker than the Abyss Ancient God.

With its strength, unless it had some explosive power-up, it would inevitably be suppressed by Lu Fan.

Seeing the Darkness Ancient God only had the power to defend, with its power to release Skills continuously declining, Lu Fan believed he had basically secured victory.

His offensive became even more ferocious, determined to kill the Darkness Ancient God here as quickly as possible.

At this moment, the Darkness Ancient God seemed to have completely lost its temper. It roared, and its body actually underwent a transformation!

Accompanied by a violent explosion, the black robe on the Darkness Ancient God’s body suddenly shattered, revealing a body completely covered in crimson armour.

Its lower half, those insect-like jointed legs, also expanded and enlarged, becoming even more robust and covered in barbs, appearing extremely savage.

Its Physique, compared to before, had expanded at least tenfold, making it appear even more terrifying!

Especially the wings on its back, woven from luminescence, spread wide, blocking out the sky and Sun.

The current Darkness Ancient God, compared to before, more resembled some combination of Angel and Demon.

“So, Second Stage?” Lu Fan was slightly surprised, involuntarily recalling the Bosses he had encountered when playing games in his previous life.

Difficult Bosses always had Second Stages and Third Stages, some even a ridiculous Fourth Stage.

Each time the Health Pool dropped to a relatively low level, the Boss would restore their Health and initiate the next stage. Each incremental Stage, the Boss’s strength would surge dramatically, becoming even harder to deal with.

The Darkness Ancient God before him was clearly the same.

At this moment, the Darkness Ancient God gripped its black greatsword with both hands, then pulled its hands apart. The black greatsword split in two, becoming two swords.

Simultaneously, black barbs began growing continuously on both dark greatswords, making them even more terrifying.

These two swords quickly became like two great trees. Not only massive, but the barbs branching from them glinted with black light. One could tell at a glance that being struck by them would cause death in most cases.

“To force me to this extent, you must die! I will devour your Ancient God Power and restore my strength to its peak!”

The Darkness Ancient God’s spiritual vibration exploded again in Lu Fan’s mind, causing Lu Fan to feel a little dizzy.

However, Lu Fan could discern that the Darkness Ancient God was now in a somewhat frenzied state, clearly gradually losing control of the power it currently displayed.

Although the Darkness Ancient God had become stronger, simultaneously, its condition was deteriorating.

Therefore, Lu Fan did not fear the Darkness Ancient God whatsoever, still calmly preparing to accept the next stage’s hard battle.

The Darkness Ancient God, wielding two exaggerated greatswords, slashed towards Lu Fan again.

Sensing its strength had multiplied several times, facing these two sword strikes, Lu Fan did not dare receive them directly. He immediately had Xiao Ye dodge.

At the same time, under Lu Fan’s command, Ji Ji also transformed into her Hell Swamp Lord Form, manipulating the crimson poisonous water to sweep towards the Darkness Ancient God like an overwhelming tide.

Transformed into her Hell Swamp Lord Form, Ji Ji’s body was similarly massive, not much inferior to the Darkness Ancient God.

Such a Giant Dragon composed entirely of poison… To anyone, it represented an absolute calamity.

After all, every drop of poison on Ji Ji could easily cause Fifth Profession Monsters or Players to suffer unbearably, or even die.

And so much poisonous liquid, annihilating a large country would not be difficult.

Facing Ji Ji, the Darkness Ancient God unexpectedly did not dodge at all. Wielding its twin swords, it slashed directly forward!

Accompanied by Ji Ji’s mournful cry, she was actually slashed down by the Darkness Ancient God with several sword strikes, her body exploding!

Although Ji Ji was Immortal and Indestructible, and could reassemble her body even when shattered, watching his Pet Dragon be slain like this, Lu Fan still felt pained.

Moreover, what surprised Lu Fan even more was that after Ji Ji’s body shattered, the poison scattered throughout the sky could not approach the Darkness Ancient God!

At this moment, the Darkness Ancient God appeared to have some invisible barrier on its body that could isolate all attacks.

Ji Ji’s poison rained down, yet was directly isolated by a barrier several tens of metres from its body.

Not only that, Skills released by Bao Bao and Xing Chen were also blocked by this barrier, failing to cause any substantial Damage to the Darkness Ancient God.

[This is… Telekinesis!?]

Lu Fan truly could not explain what kind of power this was.

It did not belong to any Element, so it could only be attributed to something odd like telekinesis.

But so what?

Any protective measure had a limit it could withstand. As long as an attack exceeded this limit, it could break through the Defence.

Even a Holy Shield Knight’s Holy Light Shield, which claimed to achieve eight seconds of Invulnerability, would lose effectiveness before Fifth Profession Players, wouldn’t it?

That was because Fifth Profession Players’ Attacks had ascended to another Mechanics Level. A Holy Shield Knight’s Holy Light Shield could not defend against it either.

Lu Fan steeled himself, deciding to continue actively attacking.

This time, he directly switched to riding Xing Chen, a Pet Dragon whose forte was her Strength Attribute. He intends to use absolute power to break through the Darkness Ancient God’s Defence.

After Lu Fan Mounted Xing Chen, he activated the power of Bloodline Sharing Awakening, simultaneously enhancing his own and Xing Chen’s Strength Attribute.

Then Xiao Cui, in her Spring of Life form, attached herself to both of them, further increasing their Strength Attribute.
