Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 891, Sandy Breeze City

Translator: Silavin

The Dark Land was located on the Desolate Plains within Feather Country.

The Desolate Plains was situated in Feather Country’s easternmost region, bordering the Dead Sea, which was the highest-known Levelling area in Feather Country.

The Monsters there were all above Level 80. Normally, only High Level Third Profession Players would go there to Level Up, seeking Dungeon Instances and Secret Realms there.

The Dark Land occupied a quarter of the Desolate Plains. This might not sound like much, but the Desolate Plains was an extremely large Map. Even just a quarter was equivalent in area to a small country like Extremistis Country.

There was no helping it. In terms of land mass, Feather Country was amongst the largest countries.

Because the Desolate Plains itself was a well-known Levelling area, Feather Country had invested considerable financial and material resources into this location.

On the edge of the Desolate Plains stood Feather Country’s third-largest city, Sandy Breeze City.

Sandy Breeze City had Transport Arrays connecting to all of Feather Country’s first-tier cities, making it extremely convenient.

Thus, after Lu Fan and Jin Zhan finished breakfast, Andrei brought them to the local Transport Array, used the VIP channel without waiting, and directly took the Transport Array to Sandy Breeze City.

Upon arriving at Sandy Breeze City, Lu Fan discovered this main city had quite distinctive characteristics.

The Desolate Plains here, true to its name, somewhat resembled Blue Star’s African savannah. It was full of yellow earth, with flying sand everywhere. There was barely any vegetation visible.

Because of this, the sandstorms here were severe and everywhere. Even the high city walls that could block off some of it still could not change the harsh environmental conditions here.

Fortunately, the basic facilities were relatively complete. Most people coming here were High Level Players, who had extremely high tolerance for environmental conditions. After all, having spent years killing Monsters in the Wilderness, what harsh environment hadn’t they seen?

Sandy Breeze City was already commendable as it was able to provide everyone with a temporary resting place during the rest intervals of their Level grinding.

Because this trip was to hunt an Ancient God, Lu Fan did not have Andrei bring any attendants. This journey involved only the three of them: Lu Fan, Jin Zhan, and Andrei.

Andrei would be the two’s sole guide.

Andrei took this role very seriously and responsibly. After arriving at Sandy Breeze City, he navigated with ease, leading Lu Fan and Jin Zhan to purchase a Map, then left the city heading towards the Dark Land.

The Dark Land was at the edge of the Desolate Plains, quite far from Sandy Breeze City. Relying on foot alone would take about ten days to half a month. Even if Andrei used his Skill, Flame Wings, it would matter little. The distance was too far.

Thus, Lu Fan directly summoned his Divine Bone Clone, carrying Andrei forward.

As for Jin Zhan, he had his Epic Grade Sky Mount, the Golden Crow, whose flight speed exceeded that of the Divine Bone Clone.

This was Andrei’s first time seeing the Divine Bone Clone. Sitting upon it, he was extremely excited.

Not only Andrei; as the Divine Bone Clone and Golden Crow simultaneously appeared outside Sandy Breeze City and flew towards the distance, quite a few Third Profession Players Levelling in Sandy Breeze City happened to witness this scene. They were immediately astonished, pointing at these two clearly extraordinary Sky Mounts, their faces full of envious jealousy.

After all, even amongst Third Profession Players, those who possessed Sky Mounts were few. Let alone a Bone Dragon and a Golden Crow. It was plainly obvious that these Sky Mounts were clearly no ordinary creatures.

Even for a High Level Player-dense Levelling area like Sandy Breeze City, such high-calibre Players were rarely seen.

For a time, these two mysterious figures possessing a Bone Dragon and Golden Crow as Mounts became the subject of discussion in Sandy Breeze City over the next two days.

After nearly a day’s flight, finally, Lu Fan on the Bone Dragon saw the Map ahead where wind and clouds changed dramatically. The place was shrouded in darkness, as if ahead lay the world’s edge where entering would plunge one into an abyss of darkness.

“It’s just ahead!” Andrei checked the Map, confirming with absolute certainty. “Ahead is where the Dark Land borders the Desolate Plains. Flying into that darkness, we’ll enter the Dark Land. The Dark Land’s world is akin to a land forever inside the eternal night. But, with Brother Jin’s Golden Crow being so bright, there’s no need to worry about not being able to see.”

These words left Jin Zhan somewhat speechless. [Wait… so my Golden Crow is only worth being used as a lamp?]

Lu Fan smiled. “Then let’s go in.”

“En.” Jin Zhan responded, riding the Golden Crow and entering the Dark Land’s Map first.

Instantly, Jin Zhan and the Golden Crow disappeared into the darkness, as if passing through a Transport Array into another Secret Realm.

It seemed this darkness could indeed separate the light of two worlds, preventing their communication.

Lu Fan did not hesitate, riding behind the Golden Crow, he flew in as well.

As darkness enveloped him, everything around became pitch black.

But immediately, light appeared ahead. It was precisely the fire-bathed Golden Crow.

The Golden Crow was like a small Sun, illuminating everything around it.

Lu Fan saw that this place was indeed different from the outside world.

The Dark Land’s soil seemed dyed with ink, completely black.

The trees were likewise.

In short, everything here was pitch black.

Therefore, even with the Golden Crow illuminating everything around, the light would be absorbed by the blackness. It made one feel as if situated within a black hole, where everything was extremely oppressive.

“Truly worthy of being the Dark Land… it’s really dark here…” Andrei sighed. Clearly, though he had long known of this place, today was his first time here.

Lu Fan opened his Map, marking the Coordinates the Devouring Dragon King had provided.

The Map Coordinates was some distance from here. So, they needed to continue forward.

Lu Fan announced the Coordinates and had Jin Zhan, serving as the ‘lamp’, lead the way ahead to find the Ancient God.

The three hadn’t travelled far forward when movement came from the darkness ahead. Roaring sounds approached from far to near, quickly rushing into the three’s visual range.

*Roar…*

There were several gorillas over five metres tall, covered in black fur, their facial features invisible since it was completely black.

Lu Fan immediately used Appraisal on them, learning they were Level 100 Elite Monsters called Darkness Brutal Slaves.

In terms of Attributes, they had High Attack, High Defence, and High Health Pool. Though only Elite Monsters, their strength was equivalent to that of Level 90 Mini Bosses.

These Monsters were probably the Lowest Level Monsters in the Dark Land.

[No wonder Feather Country, despite controlling such a Map, could only classify it as a Forbidden Area. They naturally did not dare allow others to come in here to Level. Even Fourth Profession Players can only flee when faced against such Monsters.]
