Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 860, The Best Time to Kill It!

After emerging, she stretched vigorously, her figure’s curves fully displayed, making one’s mouth dry and tongue parched.

“After sleeping so long, my body’s nearly rusted. But, your Grandmother here is still a Dragon King after all. With such an extended period of slumber, naturally I’ve recovered.”

Lu Fan asked. “Does this mean you’ve restored to your peak state?”

The Devouring Dragon King smiled slightly, saying. “Not quite. Compared to my peak, there’s still a gap. But, with this, it is enough to deal with an Ancient God’s Mount.”

“Speaking of which…” The Devouring Dragon King glanced at Lin Dong beside Lu Fan.

At this moment, Lin Dong had just successfully changed Professions, also appearing here in her Human Form.

Lin Dong’s Human appearance was a blue-haired, aloof young girl in a white dress. She was unsmiling, possessing a cold sense of keeping others at arm’s length.

Regarding the Devouring Dragon King’s appearance, she immediately expressed vigilance. Snowflakes began floating around her, while cold air continuously spread outward.

Lu Fan used eye contact to signal Lin Dong that the Devouring Dragon King was not an enemy, that she did not need to be so strung up.

Through spiritual connection, Lin Dong realised Lu Fan and the Devouring Dragon King seemed to share a contract connection similar to what she shared with Lu Fan. Therefore, even though the opponent’s aura made her extremely uncomfortable and she wanted to kill the other party, she ultimately restrained herself.

The Devouring Dragon King naturally disdained squabbling with a small Baby Dragon. As the last Giant Dragon to become Lu Fan’s Pet Dragon, Lin Dong was merely a Junior to the Devouring Dragon King.

The Devouring Dragon King looked Lin Dong up and down, continuing. “After your Fourth Profession Change, you’ve acquired quite an interesting Skill. I only gained the ability to transform into a Human after becoming an Eternal Phase Giant Dragon. You, on the other hand, can directly transform your Pet Dragons into Humans.”

“Although my transformation and your Enlightened Transformation aren’t the same thing, I can sense that as your Pet Dragons’ Levels increase in future, the Combat Power Enhancement they gain due to your Enlightened Transformation might exceed what my Eternal Phase transformation Skill provides.”

“Your Profession is truly miraculous. You’ve even made me want to become your Pet Dragon. It might not be a bad idea to stick by your side to gain some advantages.”

Indeed, beyond Lu Fan himself being able to provide Pet Dragons with some enhancements to their strength, as well as combination Skills coordinated with his Pet Dragons, the relationship between him and his Pet Dragons was one of mutually strengthening.

One Dragon Tamer plus one Pet Dragon might be stronger than two Dragons combined!

This was the Profession Characteristics of a Dragon Tamer.

Even some Support Specialised Giant Dragons could not accomplish this.

Seeing the Devouring Dragon King had intentions of becoming his Pet Dragon, Lu Fan smiled and said/ “If you want to become my Pet Dragon, isn’t it still not too late? How about I sign a new contract with you now, making you my number twelve?”

Lu Fan had eleven Pet Dragons in total. If the Devouring Dragon King came, wouldn’t she precisely be number twelve?

Hearing this, the Devouring Dragon King pretended to be angry. “What number twelve? How awful-sounding. Even if following you truly has benefits, I wouldn’t degrade myself to become a Human’s Pet Dragon. The title ‘Pet’ is simply too unpleasant. I’d rather die than become your Pet Dragon! Signing this equal contract with you is already the extreme limit of what I can tolerate!”

“Well…” Seeing the Devouring Dragon King remained averse to becoming someone’s Pet Dragon, Lu Fan simply stopped insisting, spreading his hands. “I was only joking with you. Don’t take it too seriously. If you really wanted to become my Pet Dragon, I wouldn’t even be willing. What if one day during battle, you suddenly bite me, or swallow my Pet Dragons? Wouldn’t I cry myself to death?”

The Devouring Dragon King ground her teeth, coldly laughing. “Oh? What you say isn’t wrong. If I lurk beside you, waiting for opportunities to devour your Pet Dragons, I could even enhance my own Combat Power. Wouldn’t that be pure profit? Later, I’ll kill you too, and then no one will know I was once someone’s Pet Dragon. What a perfect plan!”

Upon hearing this, Lu Fan’s expression changed, instinctively stepping backward. “You… you’re serious?”

“Wow. You can’t even take a joke!” The Devouring Dragon King rolled her eyes at Lu Fan, as if looking at an idiot. “If I truly had such intentions, after healing my injuries I’d have directly devoured you and your Pet Dragons entirely. Where would there be so much idle talk?”

Lu Fan breathed a sigh of relief.

The Devouring Dragon King crossed her arms, gazing toward the Far North’s depths, narrowing her eyes. “Seems I’ve been dormant for quite a while. The Fallen Corpse Ancient God in the Far North has awakened to an even higher degree. If we don’t intervene, now, before long, it will truly awaken.”

Lu Fan also became considerably more serious, asking. “Right, we agreed previously that once your injuries healed, we’d go kill the Fallen Corpse Ancient God’s Mount, the Blood Moon’s Owner. Now you’re awake. Does this mean we can now leave and head to the Far North’s deepest reaches to slaughter that massive thing?”

The Devouring Dragon King nodded. “Of course. I came out specifically to find you and go with you to kill that oversized thing.”

“But I must say this upfront. My recovery process didn’t go as smoothly as I anticipated. Originally, I thought one Life Fruit would be enough to completely restore my injuries, bringing my Combat Power to its peak. But having sensed my condition, even after completely refining all the Life Essence from the Life Fruit, I’ve only recovered about eighty percent.”

“In short, I can only perform at eighty percent capacity, while the Blood Moon’s Owner has now fully awakened. Its inherent Combat Power already transcends this world’s lifeforms. Fighting it in my current state, my odds of victory aren’t great.”

“You’re not its match?” Lu Fan’s brows furrowed tightly, realising matters probably were not as smooth as he had hoped.

This was not even killing the Fallen Corpse Ancient God. It was merely the Fallen Corpse Ancient God’s Mount, and it was already this troublesome. When the Ancient God fully awakened later, how would they respond?

“Your Grandmother here, at peak condition, could definitely kill it!” The Devouring Dragon King, feeling Lu Fan had underestimated her, immediately retorted with displeasure.

“If given time to continue healing my injuries, this would really just be that easy. But, I’ve sensed time is urgent. There isn’t much time left for me to heal. If we delay any further, the Fallen Corpse Ancient God’s True Body will gain mobility. Once that happens, killing that oversized Mount will become even more troublesome. Right now just happens to be the best time to kill it!”
