Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 881, Shocking Changes in the Far North

Translator: Silavin

This strike was far more powerful than the Blood Moon’s Owner’s previous attacks.

Not only did it destroy the Far North’s defensive fortifications, but along the way countless, tens of millions or even billions, of Fallen Corpse Puppets were also affected by this strike. All of them instantly perished.

This time, at the frontlines, Jin Zhan became even more anxious, because the defensive fortifications had been shattered by that strange fluctuation just now. The Far North’s defensive line was essentially now wide open to the Fallen Corpse Puppets. Blocking them would no longer be as easy.

The only fortunate thing was that the commotion caused by the Blood Moon’s Owner earlier had already put him on alert. Therefore, he had given orders early on that when everyone engaged in combat with the Fallen Corpse Puppets, they should take care to hide behind the defensive fortifications and not rashly venture out.

Although the commotion just now was significant, the actual casualties were not too severe. It was fewer than those caused by the Blood Moon’s Owner earlier.

Fortunately, that was the case. Otherwise, the millions of Players at the frontlines would likely have suffered more than half their number in casualties!

After the residual force from that attack passed, Jin Zhan immediately mounted his Golden Crow and ventured into the depths of the Far North to investigate the situation, wanting to see what had just occurred.

Because the Far North was too dangerous, even the Griffin Legion’s reconnaissance Squads could not go too deep. Therefore, the reconnaissance work could only be done by Jin Zhan.

Venturing deep into the Far North was itself extremely dangerous. Jin Zhan held a high position and wielded great power. If anything happened to him, it would be a tremendous loss for Dragon Country.

However, to understand everything and confirm whether there were other dangers lurking in the depths of the Far North, Jin Zhan could only do this.

Jin Zhan rode the Golden Crow, advancing all the way towards the depths of the Far North. Every scene he encountered left him astounded.

He saw that the Far North had been damaged beyond recognition. The ground was riddled with ravines everywhere, each one a bottomless abyss.

Those Fallen Corpse Puppets that had surged like a tide lay strewn across the landscape, everywhere, all shattered by that residual force just now. Their deaths were miserable, and not a single Fallen Corpse Puppet remained.

Not only that, but the Fallen Corpse Puppets that had originally seemed almost infinite. Now that all of them were dead, no new Fallen Corpse Puppets appeared.

It seemed that the strike just now had slaughtered all the Fallen Corpse Puppets, wiping them out from their source.

In this way, it appeared the Far North would no longer produce Fallen Corpse Puppets. Even if the defensive fortifications were destroyed, it did not matter.

However, Jin Zhan could not understand what had just happened and why all the Fallen Corpse Puppets in the Far North had vanished.

Thinking back to the enormous figure that had stood between Heaven and Earth earlier, seemingly battling someone, Jin Zhan increasingly felt that the Far North must have experienced some kind of anomalous event!

He knew that Lu Fan had gone to the depths of the Far North a month ago, saying he wanted to kill the Blood Moon’s Owner. Could all of this have been Lu Fan’s doing?

[If that’s the case, what is the result? Is the Blood Moon’s Owner dead? What had happened to Lu Fan? Also, that residual force. Who unleashed it? Was it the Blood Moon’s Owner? Or Lu Fan?]

[Or maybe… The Fallen Corpse Ancient God!?] Jin Zhan increasingly felt a chill running down his back.

That strike from the Fallen Corpse Ancient God had even dispersed the Far North’s perpetually unceasing icy-cold air.

Therefore, as Jin Zhan flew through this area, he did not encounter any blizzards or other harsh weather conditions that would have made his progress difficult.

He advanced all the way, his speed extremely fast.

What had originally been regarded as the Forbidden Area of the Far North now had no obstacles whatsoever. No Monsters, no snowstorms. Even a Level 10 Player could traverse this place with ease.

Soon, Jin Zhan had flown to the depths of the Far North, where Humans had never set foot before.

Following the source of the attack, he felt he should not be far from it now.

Going further ahead, he even saw on the ground the severed limbs of Ancient God Shadow Guards!

Having suffered at the hands of an Ancient God Shadow Guard before, Jin Zhan’s heart rose to his throat, and he even hesitated to continue forward for a moment.

However, after deliberating repeatedly, he still pressed on.

Because the source was just ahead, not far away. He was unwilling to give up halfway like this.

Jin Zhan flew for another half hour when suddenly the scenery before him transformed dramatically, causing him to freeze in place instinctively.

Before him appeared an incomparably enormous crater!

This crater was almost the size of an entire province. It was only because Jin Zhan was flying at a sufficiently high altitude that he could vaguely make out the crater’s full appearance.

The shape of the crater resembled a gigantic claw. As for its depth, that was even more terrifying.

With Jin Zhan’s perceptive abilities, he could not even sense how deep this crater was or where it led!

[How did such a massive sinkhole get formed!? Could it be… That the strike just now had shattered the ground, creating this!?] Cold sweat poured down Jin Zhan’s forehead, because he truly couldn’t imagine what kind of terrifying attack could have created such a sight.

The opponent’s strength could no longer be described simply as ‘terrifying’.

[A Divine Being? No! Those who could be called Divine Beings are merely above Level 120. Even I, Jin Zhan had long possessed the strength to slay such Divine Beings. But even if my strength were a hundred times greater, I still couldn’t possibly match such an opponent.]

Truly, before such an opponent, even Divine Beings would probably appear pitifully weak…

What could have created this scene could only be an Ancient God!

While Jin Zhan stood there in shock, just as he was about to return and report what he’d seen, he suddenly noticed something moving in the depths of the crater.

His brow furrowed slightly. With a wave of his hand, he summoned a Fireball burning with golden flames and threw it into the crater.

This Fireball rapidly descended, illuminating the contents of the crater as much as possible.

Just as the Fireball lit up that moving object, Jin Zhan saw that it was a massive bronze coffin.

The bronze coffin was bound with countless chains. Those chains seemed to have been severed cleanly by something. Whatever had been on the other end of those chains had now disappeared.

In its place were densely packed, filled with countless Ancient God Shadow Guards. They were currently dragging the chains and pulling the bronze coffin towards the deeper part of the crater.

[So many Ancient God Shadow Guards!] This scene made Jin Zhan’s scalp tingle.

One of them even directly shattered Jin Zhan’s Fireball with a single punch, then let out its characteristic shriek before turning upward, about to charge at Jin Zhan.

Jin Zhan was greatly alarmed and immediately urged the Golden Crow to flee.

A single Ancient God Shadow Guard was already more than he could handle.

With so many Ancient God Shadow Guards below; if they all rushed up, he wouldn’t have enough lives even if he had ten thousand of them!

Moreover, that bronze coffin being carried by the Ancient God Shadow Guards was clearly very special. Most likely, an Ancient God was buried within it!

[I have to return and report this!] The Far North had experienced shocking changes. Jin Zhan needed to return and report everything at all costs.
