Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 887, The Orel Family

Translator: Silavin

The trigger for this recent friction was actually related somewhat to Dragon Country. Specifically, Dragon Country’s desire to unite with other countries to jointly confront the Ancient Gods.

This plan, due to Lu Fan and Andrei’s connection, had the Kodiak Family’s wholehearted support. They were sparing no effort promoting it, negotiating with other influential Families.

However, the Orel Family did not wish to cooperate with Dragon Country.

Years ago, the Orel Family had clashed with Dragon Country, occupying several of Dragon Country’s pioneered Maps.

Later, Dragon Country continuously negotiated with the Orel Family, even engaging in covert exchanges. Ultimately, ownership of these Maps remained unresolved. Currently, neither side has obtained pioneering access rights.

Therefore, the Orel Family’s position leaned more towards helping Star Strip Country now.

If they could rescue Star Strip Country, currently suffering Holy Mountain Ancient God invasion, Feather Country and Star Strip Country might establish a deep cooperative relationship.

With Star Strip Country’s strength, they might research something from the Ancient Gods to strengthen their national power. Then, with Feather Country as Star Strip Country’s cooperative partner, couldn’t they share the benefits?

In international affairs, choosing sides was crucial.

The people from the Orel Family clearly preferred cooperating with Star Strip Country.

By comparison, although Dragon Country’s momentum was fierce, their national strength remained somewhat lacking compared to Star Strip Country.

Additionally, Dragon Country and Star Strip Country had always been at odds. Feather Country cooperating with Dragon Country clearly wasn’t as advantageous as cooperating with Star Strip Country.

The Orel Family’s thinking was pragmatic in a sense.

They firmly believed that in handling Ancient God matters, Star Strip Country definitely had a better solution than Dragon Country.

After all, Star Strip Country still had many Ancient Families who had not acted yet.

Although Star Strip Country’s handling of the Holy Mountain Ancient God appeared less effective than Dragon Country’s, Star Strip Country’s situation remained under control.

How could they know that Star Strip Country’s Ancient Families had long since determined the Ancient Gods’ arrival was unstoppable, and they were now seeking Secret Realms to hide from this calamity?

Regardless, the Orel Family and Kodiak Family represented two factions.

Combined with existing hostilities, recent conflicts had intensified particularly sharply. They were practically at blows.

As the Kodiak Family’s Young Master, Andrei being targeted was entirely reasonable.

The opposition clearly did not intend to escalate matters further. However, stepping on the Kodiak Family’s face was still allowed.

Therefore, the Orel Family had also sent their Young Master. Apparently, they intended to provoke Andrei and create some trouble.

Andrei did not want Lu Fan and Jin Zhan dragged into this meaningless dispute. Therefore, he immediately wanted to lead Lu Fan and Jin Zhan away, temporarily avoiding confrontation.

However, just as the three were about to leave, the restaurant door opened once more.

Simultaneously, several Kodiak Family attendants were shoved and thrown to the floor, each bruised and swollen; clearly having been beaten up.

Subsequently, a hooked-nosed man with distinctly foreign features entered with dozens of Players.

This person, hands clasped behind his back, laughed upon entering. “Andrei, you truly deserve to be the Kodiak Family’s Young Master. This enormous Crystal Restaurant and you reserved it for yourself just like that. I can’t even eat a meal here. You Kodiaks are so domineering. In future, won’t the entire Feather Country have no room for other Families!?”

Andrei’s brows furrowed tightly. Lu Fan, seeing his difficulty, waved dismissively, indicating he should handle the problem himself without concern for them.

Andrei revealed an apologetic expression before addressing the hooked nose. “Molotov, I reserved this Crystal Restaurant early to host some friends. It was a private booking. What’s inappropriate about it? Rather, you are forcing entry into my reserved restaurant and injuring my subordinates. If that is not unreasonable, what is?”

“Heh heh!” Molotov laughed unconcernedly. “So what if you reserved it? I can pay a higher price to book this place. Don’t restaurants serve whoever pays more?”

“As for injuring your people, you’re falsely accusing me. Originally, I wanted them to obediently step aside so I could discuss with the restaurant owner whether I could dine at the Crystal Restaurant today. Unexpectedly, your people refused to let us enter and even struck my people first. Unable to endure further, I had my subordinates retaliate. What? Your Kodiak Family people are so domineering you can shove others but won’t allow others to retaliate?”

Saying this, an Orel Family subordinate stepped forward, pointing to bruising on his face as proof that Andrei’s subordinates had indeed acted first.

One of Andrei’s subordinates, indignant, lying on the floor, said. “Clearly… clearly you struck first. We merely retaliated… Ah…”

Before finishing, an Orel Family person immediately stepped forward, kicking him and eliciting a scream.

The kicker coldly sneered. “You talk too much. Must you make yourself look big everywhere you go!? Speak again, and I’ll break your legs!”

Instantly, the subdued Kodiak Family attendants all fell silent.

Such behaviour enraged Andrei thoroughly. Blood began rising from his body.

He could barely suppress the impulse to release Skills and rush over to severely beat them up.

However, he knew full well they had come deliberately to provoke, certainly fully prepared.

Among those attendants, virtually all were Third Profession Players. Moreover, three Fourth Profession Players were present!

Such one-sided power disparity meant that if Andrei acted, he would be providing leverage to the other party, allowing Molotov to justifiably teach him a lesson. His Family would thus struggle to hold them accountable.

Seeing Andrei burning with fury yet not daring to act, Molotov grew even more arrogant.

“What, Andrei, you want to strike me? Want to fight? Come and try it then. I dislike Levelling Up. Even now, I’m only Level 47. I haven’t completed my Third Profession Change. Meanwhile, you’re a dignified Third Profession Player already. Wouldn’t striking me be effortless?”

“Being bullied like this by someone who is only Level 40, who hasn’t even had his Third Profession Changed yet. You truly have no guts, not even daring to act against me!?”
