Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 751, Problem Children Are Actually Anorexic?

Translator: Silavin

Lu Fan had already anticipated the Frost Dragon King’s Attributes to some degree, and she indeed did not disappoint him.

Moreover, having experienced the Seven Trials, Lu Fan felt that the Frost Dragon King would very likely surprise him even more in the future.

Because the Frost Dragon King not only possessed powerful Crowd Control but also had some Defensive Skills and Area of Effect Skills that were equally as terrifying.

Lu Fan currently does not lack Damage Output. With the addition of the Frost Dragon King, Lu Fan’s strength had undoubtedly improved by another leap.

At the same time, another problem presented itself to Lu Fan. The eternal issue of—giving his new Child a new name.

Given Lu Fan’s current ‘sophisticated’ cultural level, he naturally wanted to call this little one ‘Bing Bing’ (Ice Ice).

[Isn’t this perfect? She is a female Dragon, so calling her something cute like ‘Bing Bing’ would be quite fitting, no?]

However, after some thought, Lu Fan could not go through with this name, because if Auntie, Jian Ying and others found out that ‘Bing Bing’ shared the same name as a certain celebrity he knew, they would probably look down on him from the bottom of their hearts.

(Silavin: Fan Bing Bing, I believe the look down on him part was because she had a scandal involving tax evasion of more than a hundred million.)

Thus, after much deliberation, Lu Fan finally decided to name the Baby Frost Dragon King ‘Lin Dong’.

After all, the Frost Dragon King was also referred to as these four characters ‘凛冬之劫’, which formed the title Winter Calamity. So, naming it ‘凛冬’ Lin Dong was not only pleasant to hear but also convenient.

Lu Fan told the Baby Frost Dragon King her new name and she seemed to have no objections to it. She stopped eating the Eggshell she was halfway through, and instead took flight, landing on Lu Fan’s shoulder to nuzzle against him.

Such an affectionate attitude made Lu Fan breathe a sigh of relief.

After all, he knew well that every Dragon had their own personality. Although their personalities would change over time, a relatively affectionate Pet Dragon was still far easier to manage.

Like now, although Xing Chen was very obedient to his commands, she still wore a tiresome expression on the surface, exactly like what a problem child would wear when they did not get along with their parents.

And the other ‘problem child’ Bao Bao was even fiercer than a ‘Tibetan Mastiff’. Unless absolutely necessary, Lu Fan really did not want to let him out.

Whenever Bao Bao came out, he would definitely serve up Dragon Language Magic Spells, and would not stop until the enemy was torn to shreds.

Having already acquired two Giant Dragons that were already difficult to manage, Lu Fan really did not want another Pet Dragon to have ‘psychological problems’.

Being a bit more affectionate towards him and obediently listening was all that he asked for, all that he prayed for.

From the current situation, this Baby Frost Dragon King did not seem to have any major personality issues. Although she was a Frost Dragon King, her temperament was not as cold as he had thought. In fact, she was very affectionate towards him. So, there should not be any issues managing her.

This way, he had happily acquired a huggable, lovable Daughter, rather than one who would look at him with distance in her eyes, which made Lu Fan quite happy.

However, this Baby Frost Dragon King seems to have a small problem… Her appetite was poor…

The other Pet Dragons would all finish their Eggshells to use as nutrition for their first growth.

After the Pet Dragons finished their Eggshells, their bodies would also grow much larger.

But Lin Dong had only eaten half of her Eggshell before stopping, instead jumping onto Lu Fan’s shoulder.

Her body had indeed grown somewhat, but compared to Bao Bao’s previous growth and changes, she was obviously much smaller.

Clearly, not finishing her Eggshell had a great impact on her.

Although this impact was not reflected on her Attribute Panel, Lu Fan still knew in his heart that Lin Dong really should finish eating her Eggshell.

Thus, on his first day as a Father to his tenth Pet Dragon, Lu Fan displayed the worrying nature characteristic of Fathers. He handed the remaining Eggshell to Lin Dong and earnestly persuading. “Good girl, eat all the Eggshells. Eating it will help your body grow. Your Brothers and Sisters immediately grew bigger after eating their Eggshells, becoming several times larger than you. If you don’t eat your Eggshell, how will you grow?”

Lin Dong naturally understood Lu Fan’s words.

However, Lin Dong kept shaking her head, seeming very resistant to the Eggshell.

This left Lu Fan feeling helpless. [I had just said that she was going to be low maintenance. Why did I have to jinx it and cause trouble to immediately follow?]

[To think she is actually anorexic!]

Moreover, Lin Dong was very stubborn. Since she did not like eating, no matter how much Lu Fan tried to persuade her, she would not eat.

In the end, Lu Fan could only helplessly abandon the idea of making her finish the Eggshell.

However, Lu Fan was still very worried about Lin Dong’s physical condition, so he asked the ‘Dragon expert’, the Devouring Dragon King, whether this situation was normal, and if it would have any impact on Lin Dong’s growth.

The Devouring Dragon King’s voice clearly contained some helplessness, as if she felt Lu Fan not only lacked experience in raising Dragons but was also too prone to worry.

If explained in academic terms, this could be called “Dragon Raising Stress Syndrome.”

The Devouring Dragon King said that those of the Dragon Race were all highly intelligent, and any kind of personality could appear. As for being anorexic and not even eating Eggshells, this was also very normal.

For this, Adult Giant Dragons would simply give them a beating, and the child would become obedient.

After hearing this, Lu Fan broke out in a cold sweat. He really had not expected that the Dragon Race and Human Race would have such great similarities.

However, giving Lin Dong a beating was something Lu Fan really could not bring himself to do.

After all, he had just acquired Lin Dong. If he gave Lin Dong a thrashing now, he was afraid it would destroy the already shallow ‘Father-Daughter bond’ between them.

Originally, Lin Dong was like a good girl, but what if beating her turned her into a problem child like Xing Chen?

But if there was no beating, then she simply would continue to refuse to eat.

However, the Devouring Dragon King then said that Eggshells were actually quite important for Baby Dragons.

Because the nutrition in Eggshells also contained some hereditary power of their kind. After Baby Dragons consumed them, they could not only grow physically but also replenish their bodies with many nutrients, allowing them to better and faster master their racial traits and Skills.

If they did not finish eating it, Lin Dong’s body would definitely be affected.

Reflected on the Attribute Panel, for example, the speed of gaining Experience Points would slow down, and the Growth Phase would also be extended.

For instance, killing one monster, other Baby Dragons of the same Level could reach Level 2, but Lin Dong would not be able to do so.

Other Baby Dragons could enter the Growth Phase at Level 10, but Lin Dong might need Level 12 or 13.

This was the consequence of a Baby Dragon not finishing their Dragon Egg.

After hearing this, Lu Fan’s expression immediately became unsightly.

For Lin Dong’s growth, how could he still care about such things as feelings?

Lu Fan even considered directly prying open Lin Dong’s mouth and stuffing Eggshell into it.

However, the Devouring Dragon King’s next words made him breathe a sigh of relief.

“Actually, you don’t need to be so tense. Don’t you have the Life Dragon King in your Territory? The Life Essence emanated by the Life Dragon King has a very good effect on replenishing the nutrients that living beings’ bodies lack. You just need to let her stay in your Territory for a period of time and absorb more of the Life Dragon King’s Life Essence. Eventually, this matter will be resolved.”
