Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 791, The Abyssal Rift

“More or less.” The Senior Sister raised her head, as if recalling what Ouyang Baige had just said. “She said that inside contains a simple Fourth Profession Change Array. You only need to gather the materials to activate it and successfully complete your Fourth Profession Change. But this Array cannot be used at present. It lacks one key material that you need to find yourself. Once you find it, simply open the box and the Array will activate.”

Lu Fan listened with a deeply furrowed brow. “There’s such a thing? It’s only a Fourth Profession Change, why is it so troublesome?”

The Senior Sister seemed helpless. “…I don’t know either. After all, whether I can even have my Fourth Profession Change in this lifetime is uncertain. But, since Master Ouyang said so, there shouldn’t be any problems. She also said that ordinary Fourth Profession Change Arrays aren’t actually very good. Those Arrays allow Players to successfully complete their Fourth Profession Change, but they don’t allow Players to truly understand their own Profession Characteristics, thus becoming trapped above Level 90-something, finding it difficult to continue Levelling Up. The Array she has developed is different from ordinary Fourth Profession Change Arrays.”

“During this Profession Change, you can even gain a new understanding of your Profession through the process itself, helping you Level Up more easily than others even after Level 90. It’s precisely because of the special nature of this Profession Change Array that it requires more and rarer materials compared to ordinary Arrays.”

“Since she temporarily cannot gather these materials, she can only give you this semi-finished product and let you find the materials yourself.”

“Alright…” Lu Fan felt somewhat strange in his heart, but after hesitating, he still put away the stone box.

Then he asked, “So, what exactly is the final required material?”

“It’s something that can be dropped by a Boss,” the Senior Sister thought for a moment. “It seems to be in a map called the Abyssal Rift. Supposedly, in the deepest part of the Abyssal Rift…”

“Abyssal Rift…” Lu Fan narrowed his eyes, committing the Map’s name to memory.

Afterwards, he said he wanted to go see this so-called Abyssal Rift, then bid farewell to this Senior Sister.

However, when Lu Fan left, he did not go looking for any Abyssal Rift. Instead, he returned to Villa No. 1, took out Tao Xiaoman’s tablet, and used it to contact Ye Wuxian.

Lu Fan felt that this Vice Principal Ouyang was strange and abnormal so he decided to first ask Ye Wuxian, whether this person was trustworthy or not.

After establishing video call contact with Ye Wuxian, Lu Fan told Ye Wuxian about his recent experience.

After listening, Ye Wuxian also showed a puzzled expression. “Well, I do agree that Vice Principal Ouyang is indeed somewhat odd. Although her temperament and personality are like this, considering her eccentric nature, she still shouldn’t have refused to see you.”

Pausing briefly, Ye Wuxian smiled and said, “Perhaps Vice Principal Ouyang has encountered some trouble in her recent academic research, so she’s in a bad mood and doesn’t want to see outsiders. You don’t need to take it to heart.”

Lu Fan frowned. “But, seeing how you are describing her, Vice Principal Ouyang is indeed a remarkable person?”

Ye Wuxian nodded. “Of course. Vice Principal Ouyang is considered a treasure of our Dragon Capital University. Her abilities go without saying. When I completed my Fourth Profession Change, I indeed had her set up the Profession Change Array for me.”

“Actually, if you want to complete Fourth Profession Change, it’s not that difficult. Come to my Ye Family, I could let you complete Fourth Profession Change. But, if you can have Vice Principal Ouyang set up a Profession Change Array for you, that would definitely be better than using mine. I can clearly feel that through Vice Principal Ouyang’s Profession Change Array, my understanding of my own Profession Characteristics during my Fourth Profession Change was much more in depth. Because of this, my Level has been able to improve so quickly… Well, of course, there’s no comparison with you. After all, you’re a complete monster in this regard.”

Lu Fan smiled helplessly, not knowing whether Ye Wuxian was praising him or not.

However, speaking of it, Ye Wuxian’s Level did indeed improve very quickly.

At least, Lu Fan had never seen a Level 90+ expert younger than Ye Wuxian advance so quickly.

With Ye Wuxian backing up Ouyang Baige, it seemed that Vice Principal Ouyang certainly had the skills to back up her eccentricities.

Since he had received Ye Wuxian’s affirmation, Lu Fan was looking forward to the Fourth Profession Change Array that Ouyang Baige had given him, planning to find a way to gather the materials the Array needed.

So, he hung up the call, then began using the tablet to search online for information about the Abyssal Rift.

As a result of this search, Lu Fan discovered that the so-called Abyssal Rift really was not some rare, obscure place.

It was not within Dragon Country, but at the border between South Country and Dragon Country. Strictly speaking, it should be classified as a location under South Country.

However, after South Country’s defeat and submission to Dragon Country, Players from Dragon Country could freely enter and exit the border area between the two countries.

This also made this area particularly chaotic.

And this place called the Abyssal Rift was at the very centre of this chaos.

The Abyssal Rift was a Map of moderate size. It was situated in a mountain peak rift, containing a total of ten Secret Realms.

Moreover, these Secret Realms were all special. Regardless of whether anyone had Cleared them, new Secret Realms would appear after a certain period.

Therefore, calling the Abyssal Rift a treasured land would not be excessive, because as long as one had the strength, one could repeatedly clear the Secret Realms here and obtain massive Rewards.

However, the Level and Missions of the Secret Realms Cleared were completely uncertain.

Perhaps a Level 5 Secret Realm might appear.

It was also possible that a few days later, a Level 120 Secret Realm would appear in the same location.

The place was just that odd. Without entering the Secret Realm, no one could say what was inside.

However, there was one Secret Realm, situated in the deepest part of the Abyssal Rift, that had never changed.

This Secret Realm was said to have Guardian Monsters that were already Level 90, and numerous in quantity.

Several Fourth Profession Players had previously teamed up to assault this place, but all had returned in failure, with quite a few Fourth Profession Players even losing their lives there.

Over time, no one dared to attempt the Secret Realm in the deepest part.

But the other constantly refreshing Secret Realms attracted people like moths to flame. Everyone wanted to enter, Clear the Secret Realm, and get the valuable Rewards.

As such, situated at the border between Dragon Country and South Country, there had been predictable consequences.

Here, battles triggered by competition for the Secret Realms were countless…
