Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 781, Overwhelming Numbers, Final Victory

Lu Fan directly activated Golden Dragon King’s Blood Eruption and charged towards the Ancient God Shadow Guard.

His massive body served a definite purpose. At the very least, when Lu Fan sought to pin down the Ancient God Shadow Guard, it was not easy for his opponent to circumvent his enormous frame.

However, by comparison, Lu Fan still preferred engaging the Ancient God Shadow Guard in his Human Form if he could. The Golden Dragon King’s body was simply too big to control properly. All the battle senses and combat techniques Lu Fan had learned from Ye Wuxian were difficult to apply when in this Form.

The Golden Dragon King Form was better suited for battling larger Monsters. Against an opponent like the Ancient God Shadow Guard with its current size, his Human Form would be more practical.

Nevertheless, despite having the protection of the Little Blade Armour Dragon King and Xiao Zuo and Xiao You, along with his extremely High Attributes, Lu Fan still dared not grow complacent and revert back to his Human Form.

Firstly, transforming into the Golden Dragon King Form provided Lu Fan with extremely High Defence, giving him greater confidence in facing the Ancient God Shadow Guard.

Secondly, should the opponent still have any trump cards, he could activate Golden Form, an Invulnerability Skill, to avoid Damage.

Most importantly, as the Main Tank, he needed to possess a suitable size to shield his Pet Dragons from enemy attacks.

After intercepting the Ancient God Shadow Guard, Lu Fan raised a claw and brought it down, striking the creature from the air.

The Ancient God Shadow Guard crashed into the midst of the Fallen Corpse Puppets, immediately crushing several of them upon impact.

However, the Ancient God Shadow Guard was not one to be trifled with. It suddenly erupted from the ground, launching itself at Lu Fan and delivering a devastating punch to his chest.

Immediately, a *crack* resounded as the Ice Crystal Armour that Lin Dong had cast upon Lu Fan shattered completely, demonstrating just how high the Ancient God Shadow Guard’s Attack Power was.

Yet, the time it took for the Ancient God Shadow Guard to throw that punch also gave the other Pet Dragon and Lu Fan an opportunity to attack.

Lu Fan brought his two Dragon Claw together in a clapping motion, trapping the Monster in his palm.

The Ancient God Shadow Guard could not dodge in time and found itself caught between his claws, temporarily unable to escape.

It spread its arms and legs wide, preventing Lu Fan from closing his claws completely and crushing it entirely in his grasp.

But in doing so, it had no remaining capacity for Defence or Attack.

Bao Bao’s Lightning arrived in an instant, as if venting its displeasure at the Ancient God Shadow Guard’s earlier attempt to attack him.

Bright yellow lightning continuously descended, striking the Ancient God Shadow Guard until it trembled incessantly.

Bao Bao’s Dragon Language Magic was incomparable to Lu Fan’s half-baked abilities in his Golden Dragon King Form.

While the Ancient God Shadow Guard could withstand Lu Fan’s Dragon Breath without sustaining any injury, it could not remain so composed when facing Bao Bao’s Skills.

Moreover, after using that ‘Golden Cicada shedding its shell’-like Skill earlier, its Attributes and Combat Power had clearly declined, making it even more difficult to withstand Bao Bao’s bombardment.

At this moment, Ji Ji, having reformed her body, flew back into the fray.

This time Ji Ji did not launch a suicidal attack, but instead summoned three small Hell Guardians, which assaulted the Ancient God Shadow Guard. Highly toxic poison exploded across its body, inflicting multiple Debuffs.

After Ji Ji’s poison further Weakened the Ancient God Shadow Guard’s Defence, Lu Fan stopped prolonging the confrontation.

The Little Blade Armour Dragon King’s chain hooks travelled up along Lu Fan’s Dragon Claw and once again wrapped around the Ancient God Shadow Guard’s ankle.

Lu Fan then released his grip, and the chain hook pulled hard, hurling the Ancient God Shadow Guard away.

The Ancient God Shadow Guard was flung out, its body almost becoming a blur, completely beyond its own control.

Just then, another crimson flash cut through the void. Ye Sha struck again, his blade-like wing slashing across the Ancient God Shadow Guard’s waist.

This blow nearly severed the Ancient God Shadow Guard in half while simultaneously changing its trajectory mid-air, causing it to plummet heavily to the ground.

The assault on the Ancient God Shadow Guard was far from over though.

Xing Chen, cradling her Shatter Star, approached gracefully and struck the fallen Ancient God Shadow Guard before detonating it.

“Boom!” In the violent explosion, Fallen Corpse Puppets within a radius of several kilometres were caught in the blast, reduced to dust by Shatter Star’s detonation and instantly killed.

A deep crater appeared in the underground cavern floor.

Lu Fan opened his Dragon Mouth and exhaled. Not using any Skill or releasing a Dragon Breath, but simply blowing to disperse the ice fragments and smoke, revealing the situation at the bottom of the pit.

In the crater’s depths, only a tattered skin of the Ancient God Shadow Guard remained.

Simultaneously, from a gap in the skin, streams of black mist emerged, coalescing in mid-air to form the Ancient God Shadow Guard’s new body once again.

[Seriously, killing a Level 130 Legendary Grade Boss isn’t easy.]

However, Lu Fan had already anticipated this.

After their brief engagement, he had gained a general understanding of the Ancient God Shadow Guard and knew that eliminating it would not be so simple.

But this was merely a matter of time. With the coordination between Lu Fan and his ten Pet Dragon, this Ancient God Shadow Guard had absolutely no hope of victory.

Lu Fan did not immediately take action, but at this moment, Lin Dong glided past, spreading the effect of Apocalyptic Disaster throughout every corner of the surrounding area.

It was clearly visible that with each successive shedding of its skin, the Ancient God Shadow Guard’s Attributes declined more and more severely.

Now, even Lin Dong’s Apocalyptic Disaster could gradually coat it with ice crystals, providing a decent reduction to its Overall Speed.

The more they fought, the greater the power disparity between both sides became.

Lu Fan smiled slightly, feeling no urgency.

Today, he was genuinely determined to kill this Ancient God Shadow Guard and discover exactly what sort of entity this thing truly was.

If he could not kill the Blood Moon’s Owner, surely he could kill this Monster, right?

“Ji Ji, continue applying poison Debuffs to it and bring down its Attribute!” Lu Fan commanded loudly, once again sending Ji Ji into action.

With Ji Ji and Lin Dong present, even if this Ancient God Shadow Guard wanted to flee, there was no escape route!

Two more rounds of intense combat followed.

The Ancient God Shadow Guard shed its skin twice more in succession. Now it had shrunk severely in size, becoming almost as small as an ordinary person.

Simultaneously, its strength had declined dramatically. Lu Fan even dared to transform back into his Human Form and wield the Flaming Meteor Sword in battle against it.

Finally, as Lu Fan once more struck it down and pinned it to the ground, the Ancient God Shadow Guard at last became nothing more than a skin, though this time no black mist emerged. It appeared to be truly and completely dead.

Seeing this, Lu Fan crouched down, picked up the skin, and examined it using Appraisal.
