Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 774, New Skill, Freezing Walls!

Translator: Silavin

After Jin Zhan transformed into his Three Legged Golden Crow form, he bore some resemblance to Ning Shuang’er in his ability to freely manipulate Fire Element Skills.

However, the strength that Jin Zhan displayed was naturally a hundred times more formidable than Ning Shuang’er!

Flames rained down like droplets across the sky. Whether they struck the ground or landed upon Monster bodies, each impact triggered violent explosions, as if gunpowder had been ignited. The power was staggering.

Not only Jin Zhan, but the three unknown Pets following beside him demonstrated similar capabilities.

This combination of one person and three Pets struck down Monster at a pace that was not slow at all.

Witnessing this display, Lu Fan finally understood why Jin Zhan dared to challenge him to see who could kill more Monsters. He genuinely possessed considerable skill.

When he thought about it, it made sense. At the time, the exaggerated speed at which Xing Chen and Bao Bao had been clearing Fallen Corpse Puppets was something Jin Zhan had definitely seen.

However, Jin Zhan had still proposed competing with Lu Fan, which meant he certainly possessed his own advantages in this contest.

From the current situation, Jin Zhan’s Monster clearing speed was equally impressive. Even if his Monster kill count could not match Lu Fan’s, the difference likely would not be much.

If Lu Fan did not give his all, he might genuinely be overtaken.

[How interesting!] Lu Fan smiled slightly, feeling a surge of fighting spirit within his heart.

Subsequently, Lu Fan threw himself wholeheartedly into Monster slaying, no longer paying attention to Jin Zhan.

The Soul Medal’s counter soared continuously under such terrifying Monster clearing speed.

Soon, Lin Dong Levelled Up repeatedly, reaching Level 50 in the blink of an eye!

At this moment, not only did Lin Dong’s Attributes skyrocket, but she also comprehended another Skill!

Overjoyed, Lu Fan thoroughly studied this Skill and was immediately delighted!

Lin Dong’s newly comprehended Skill was named Freezing Walls, which could summon Freezing Walls of solid consistency out of thin air to block enemy movement.

This Skill could serve both as a shield to deflect enemy’s Skills and as a Crowd Control Skill to restrict enemy’s mobility.

Under normal circumstances, this Skill would not have thrilled Lu Fan to such an extent.

However, at this very moment, it was the perfect opportunity to utilise this particular Skill!

Currently, although Lu Fan was blocking the cavern exit with his Pet Dragons, instantly killing Monster as they emerged, the exit was so large that his and his Pet Dragon Skills could not cover the entire exit.

This resulted in Lu Fan being able to only eliminate sixty to seventy percent of the emerging swarm, while still allowing a small portion to escape and head towards the frontlines.

The Freezing Walls could perfectly resolve the current predicament.

[If the exit is too big, I’ll simply seal a portion of it up. I’ll only leave an opening within the range I can manage. Then whatever Monsters emerge, I’ll kill that many!] In his ecstatic state, Lu Fan immediately instructed Lin Dong to proceed.

“Lin Dong, go! Use Freezing Walls to fill in the edges of the exit, only leave an opening of a size we can handle!” Lu Fan commanded. Lin Dong immediately understood, ceasing her Monster killing and flying to the perimeter of the exit, beginning to summon Freezing Walls and sealing off all the edges.

These Freezing Walls possessed extremely High Durability. Combined with this being the Far North with its natural cold climate, there was even a hidden Mechanics that could extend the Freezing Walls’ Duration.

Therefore, once the Freezing Walls appeared, they immediately took effect, genuinely trapping the Monster within, preventing their breakthrough.

Consequently, these Monsters could only roar in frustration, surging forth from the remaining openings.

As Lin Dong continuously deployed Freezing Walls, the entire exit was partially sealed in no time.

To prevent the Monster from shattering the Freezing Walls, Lu Fan cautiously had Lin Dong reinforce them with several additional layers. Only after confirming these Monsters could not possibly escape through them that he satisfactorily surveyed his masterpiece.

At this point, the original cavern had half its perimeter sealed off.

Those tide-like Monsters grew frantic with anxiety, yet had no recourse but to compete in surging outward through the unsealed exits.

This accelerated the Monster emergence speed considerably. After all, with smaller exits but unchanged Monster quantities, the rate at which Monster crawled out towards Lu Fan and his Dragons was nearly double the original pace.

This was equivalent to blocking half a tap while keeping the total water volume in the pipes unchanged, naturally increasing the speed of the water coming out.

For Lu Fan, he was not concerned about how many Monsters appeared and how fast they appeared. He only feared the exit was too large for him and his Pet Dragons to fully cover it.

Now, with the possible exit reduced by half, this cavern was perfectly sealed off with Bao Bao’s, Xing Chen’s and Lin Dong’s Skills, ensuring whatever Monster emerged would perish!

“Xing Chen, Bao Bao, Lin Dong, seal it off and do not let even a fly escape!” Lu Fan exclaimed jubilantly, riding Ye Sha forward to contribute with his Disperse Weaklings.

Under such tactical coordination, Lu Fan distinctly felt the Soul Medal’s counter jumping faster. The sensation was beyond mere satisfaction.

While Lu Fan revelled in his advantageous position, Jin Zhan in the distance naturally noticed Lu Fan’s unusual activity.

Previously, although Lu Fan’s area blazed with Skill Effect, numerous Monsters could still be observed escaping toward the frontlines.

Now, not a single Monster emerged from Lu Fan’s side. Everything was being killed at the exit, which was far too obvious.

Greatly alarmed, Jin Zhan flew to higher altitude and observed that the cavern had clearly been sealed by some Skill. Lu Fan was positioned before the remaining gap, unleashing Skills into the cavern and slaughtering Monster so thoroughly that they could not escape.

Immediately, Jin Zhan felt the urge to curse. [He is being far too underhanded! How could such a Skill even exist!?]

In all fairness, if Jin Zhan could also reduce the size of the exit, he could similarly block Monster at their doorway for slaughter, just like Lu Fan. But the crucial point was, he couldn’t do it!

No matter how hard he tried, he could not possibly intercept all the Monster emerging from the cavern. Escapees would inevitably exist.

Naturally, Lu Fan’s Monster killing speed would surpass his own.

Jin Zhan, being inherently prideful, desired victory over Lu Fan.

Having finally conceived a reasonable approach, yet seeing the scales of victory clearly tilting toward Lu Fan, how could he accept this!?

He wracked his brains but could not devise any solution to break the deadlock.

Finally, he steeled his resolve, transforming his entire being into a fireball and diving deep into the cavern with his three Pets.
