Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 776, Deep into the Cavern

Translator: Silavin

Given the Level of Monsters here, combined with Lin Dong’s continuously surging Attributes, a single passive activation of Ice Explosion from Apocalyptic Disaster could essentially clear out all the Monsters.

Lu Fan gradually perceived the overwhelming power and stopped Xing Chen and Bao Bao from taking Experience Points. Instead, he left only Lin Dong alone to claim everything.

However, Lin Dong barely needed to do anything. She simply waited until enough Frozen enemies had accumulated, then automatically had Ice Explosion activated to harvest all the Experience Points.

Moreover, because of Apocalyptic Disaster, she did not even need to use Freezing Walls anymore.

Let the Monsters emerge if they wished. The entire area outside the cavern was covered by the Apocalyptic Disaster’s range anyway. Emerging only meant being Frozen, then receiving an Ice Explosion.

After acquiring Apocalyptic Disaster, Lin Dong’s Experience Point acquisition rate increased dramatically.

Because now, she could similarly surround and eliminate all the Monsters from the cavern without letting a single one escape, while being the sole Dragon taking in the Experience Points.

Lu Fan gradually sensed that the current Lin Dong was beginning to possess the strength to fight alongside him as an equal.

[It seemed like it would not take long for her to reach my Level.]

When he confirmed that Lin Dong’s Apocalyptic Disaster could completely eliminate all the Monsters appearing, Lu Fan suddenly conceived a more audacious plan.

Through his communication with Jin Zhan, he learned that the Far North contained more than one cavern, and all caverns had countless Monsters surging forth from within.

One could imagine that beneath the Far North’s surface, there must exist countless Monsters competing to emerge from various caverns, creating such scenes.

Lu Fan blocking this cavern meant only surrounding and eliminating Monsters emerging from a single cavern.

Underground, there were undoubtedly far more Monsters to take down.

Jin Zhan’s desire to venture deep into the cavern must have stemmed from this same reasoning. To seek out more Monsters within the cavern’s depths.

So, now, Lu Fan was reconsidering. [Should I also enter the cavern?]

After all, with Apocalyptic Disaster, he could easily seal a cavern’s exit, transforming all Monster into ice sculptures, then harvest Experience Points with a single Ice Explosion.

[If I venture deep into the cavern and set up an Absolute Frozen Domain there, wouldn’t we be able to harvest even more Experience Points? If I can discover two cavern passages inside, wouldn’t my Levelling speed be doubled? If I found three, it would triple!]

[Since Apocalyptic Disaster Freezes enemies, and detonates Ice Explosion automatically from any distance, this is a divine Levelling Skill! We can just spread Apocalyptic Disasters throughout the cavern’s interior as we go, transforming the entire cavern into a true apocalypse for the Monsters! How exhilarating!]

With such an abundant mass of Monsters, not only could Lin Dong catch up to the other Pet Dragon’s Levels, but Lu Fan could directly advance to Level 90 and undergo his Fourth Profession Change without issue!

At this thought, Lu Fan’s breathing quickened as he mentally applauded his own brilliance.

“Lin Dong, we’re not going to sit here waiting any longer. Come, follow me and charge inside! We’re going down there to do something big!”

Lu Fan called out to Lin Dong, then mounted Ye Sha and directly used Shadow Flash to strike into the cavern.

Wherever Ye Sha passed, countless Monsters were immediately severed in half by his sharp wings.

The Monsters here could not hinder Lu Fan in the slightest. He effortlessly cut through the horde and entered the cavern’s interior.

Lin Dong proceeded similarly, and wherever she passed, Apocalyptic Disaster was activated, leaving behind Absolute Frozen Domains that Monster simply couldn’t traverse through.

Any that entered inevitably became ice sculptures.

Through Apocalyptic Disaster, Lin Dong effectively sealed this cavern exit completely.

Tearing through Monsters and penetrating the natural flesh walls they formed, after an unknown duration of descent, Lu Fan finally entered the cavern’s interior.

Immediately, his vision opened dramatically as he discovered the cavern’s depths.

It contained a hidden world!

Below the cavern, it was like an underground world, an open space with ice layers extending as far as the eye could see.

It had to be said that the ice layer overhead was also extremely thick. After all, the Far North Map lay directly above.

Still the actual depth of this place was impossible to estimate.

Lu Fan felt as though an Ancient God had hollowed out a section of the Far North’s ice layers, creating this underground ice world.

Without entering through the cavern, who could have imagined such a space existed beneath the Far North?!

This space was tremendously vast, approximately a hundred metres in height.

Simultaneously, the Monster population within was equally staggering, practically carpeting the entire area.

Looking around, even at the limits of his vision, everything was Monsters. There was simply no end in sight of them.

Their numbers were simply incalculable.

Behind Lu Fan stood a small mountain composed of clustered Monsters.

This small mountain connected directly to the cavern exit, revealing to Lu Fan exactly how those countless Monsters reached the surface.

Apart from Monsters capable of Flight, those lacking aerial abilities gathered together like this, forcibly constructing a mountain out of Monsters, climbing relentlessly towards the surface regardless of the consequences.

Such a mountain of bodies was genuinely spectacular to behold.

An even more spectacular event soon followed.

As Lin Dong descended from the cavern exit, Apocalyptic Disaster took effect wherever she passed.

This mountain was naturally enveloped within her Absolute Frozen Domain, causing all Monsters movements to Slow, until they all became ice sculptures.

With so many Monsters frozen, it transformed into what appeared to be an iceberg. It was an exceptionally magnificent sight.

Then, after Lin Dong circled this iceberg once, Ice Explosion was activated, instantly causing the entire iceberg to collapse and get converted into Experience Points.

The Experience Points this one iceberg provided were incredible. It was equivalent to Lu Fan spending three to five minutes with Lin Dong hunting outside the cavern.

[Indeed, harvesting Experience Points inside is far better. Guess Jin Zhan’s venture into this place would yield a ton as well. But, compared to my gains, they should not be much to speak of.]
