Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 780, Golden Cicada Sheds Its Shell?

Translator: Silavin

[Your Defence is high, but I truly don’t believe I can’t break through it! If I can’t use force to break through, then I’ll simply lower your Defence!]

Lu Fan’s thoughts stirred, and immediately the Little Blade Armour Dragon King on his body ejected chain hook after chain hook, transforming into a great net that flew towards the Ancient God Shadow Guard.

Seeing this, the Ancient God Shadow Guard immediately bounced up from the ground, its speed so fast it was appalling, easily passing through the gaps between the chain hooks.

With such rapid speed, the chain hooks found it impossible to capture.

However, what Lu Fan feared least was his opponent’s Speed.

Because next to Lu Fan, was the strongest Crowd Control Pet Dragon, a Frost Dragon King!

“Lin Dong! Use Apocalyptic Disaster to blanket the area and lower its Overall Speed!”

Following Lu Fan’s command, Lin Dong immediately responded with a cry, simultaneously soaring through the air and bringing down Apocalyptic Disaster.

Not only that, but her Sheer Cold Aura was also taking Effect. As long as she was here, she would continuously reduce the Overall Speed of the surrounding enemies without pause.

The Ancient God Shadow Guard seemed to have extremely High Resistance to the Ice Element. If it were a Fallen Corpse Puppet facing the Speed Reduction of Sheer Cold Aura and Apocalyptic Disaster, in almost a second’s time, their entire body would be covered in ice crystals, unable to move.

But the Ancient God Shadow Guard was different. Although ice crystals did appear on its body, whenever the ice crystals condensed, they would be directly shattered by it, making it fundamentally difficult to completely Freeze it.

Even so, the Effect of Lin Dong’s Overall Speed Reduction was no joke.

The Ancient God Shadow Guard was still somewhat affected by the Skill’s Debuff, its Speed visibly slowing down.

It was precisely because its Speed had slowed that the Little Blade Armour Dragon King’s chain hooks were finally able to match its pace, successfully binding one of its legs.

Immediately, the Ancient God Shadow Guard trying to escape pulled this chain hook taut, making it emit *creaking* sounds.

Lu Fan could also sense how great the Ancient God Shadow Guard’s strength was. With its power, it actually had the capability to snap the Little Blade Armour Dragon King’s chain hooks!

“Ji Ji!” Lu Fan immediately gave another order. Ji Ji, sharing a spiritual connection with him, immediately flew towards the Ancient God Shadow Guard, apparently preparing to launch an attack.

Seeing Ji Ji flying over, the Ancient God Shadow Guard let out a bestial roar from somewhere unknown. Then, it actually grabbed Ji Ji with both hands and with a violent effort, tore Ji Ji in half alive.

*Splurt!*

Accompanied by a light sound, Ji Ji’s body transformed into a large mass of poison that poured down, saturating the Ancient God Shadow Guard’s entire body.

Immediately, the Ancient God Shadow Guard let out an even more miserable wail, clearly suffering considerably from Ji Ji’s poisonous Corrosion.

However, although such intense poison caused the Ancient God Shadow Guard’s body to be covered with various Debuffs, these Debuffs were not as useful as Lu Fan had imagined.

Without mentioning anything else, if a drop of Ji Ji’s poison fell on an ordinary Level 90 Platinum Grade Boss, theoretically it could even make that Boss’s Health Pool reach zero directly within five seconds!

But the Ancient God Shadow Guard remained completely pitch-black all over, and even the Corrosion Effect could hardly cause too much Damage to its body.

As for the other Poison Effects, they took effect to some degree, but regarding how much they actually weakened its strength, it was not as great as Lu Fan had anticipated.

This made Lu Fan even more convinced that the Ancient God Shadow Guard was difficult to deal with.

Not only was its Defence astonishing, but even its Strength and Resistances were so high.

Ji Ji’s poison had very limited Weakening Effect on its Defence and Attributes.

Taking advantage of the Ancient God Shadow Guard being troubled by Ji Ji’s poison, the Little Blade Armour Dragon King had more of its chain hooks entangle the Ancient God Shadow Guard at this moment, binding the Ancient God Shadow Guard’s entire body.

The Ancient God Shadow Guard could break free from one chain hook, but with several chain hooks binding it, it was still unable to move for the moment.

Moreover, the Crowd Control Effects of Ji Ji and Lin Dong were not mere decorations either.

Especially Ji Ji, as the Hell Poison Dragon King, her poison was something even Dragon Kings would fear.

It was just that Ji Ji’s Level was somewhat low and was Mechanically restricted; otherwise, her poison should have had shown better effectiveness against the Ancient God Shadow Guard.

Even with limited effectiveness, Ji Ji’s poison could still restrict the Ancient God Shadow Guard’s various Attributes. Facing so many Debuff Skills at this time, the Ancient God Shadow Guard could not break free for the moment.

At the same time, in the void, a crimson red light flashed past. It was Ye Sha striking out, attacking the Ancient God Shadow Guard’s head with a Shadow Assassination.

Ye Sha possessed the Passive Skill, Shadow Dragon Blade, which had an extremely High Armour Piercing Effect.

Having him attack High Defence enemies was the most effective choice.

At this moment, Ye Sha did not disappoint Lu Fan. After his Shadow Assassination strike viciously chopped into the Ancient God Shadow Guard’s head, it had indeed produced results.

The Ancient God Shadow Guard’s attacked head had already been split open with a gash that almost completely severed it. Half its head was hanging down, nearly split in two directly by Ye Sha.

But just at this moment, an unexpected change occurred.

From this gap, a mass of black mist condensed as if made of matter. It drilled out from within and reached mid-air.

Subsequently, this black mist instantly condensed into the Ancient God Shadow Guard’s new body, while the original body was left as merely a layer of black skin that slipped away from the chain hook bindings, appearing without the slightest trace of life.

[A Skill that lets the Golden Cicada shed its shell!?] Lu Fan narrowed his eyes, looking at this re-emerged Ancient God Shadow Guard, thinking to himself that this Monster cannot be underestimated.

[What a pity. My Level is still too low to see what Skills it possesses. Otherwise, dealing with it would have been a little easier.]

However, although the opponent had used a Skill similar to a golden cicada shedding its shell to escape, and all its Debuffs had also disappeared, appearing as if reborn,

Lu Fan could still sense that using that Skill just now had harmed it as well.

Its aura had clearly dropped by a level, and its Attack, Defence, and Overall Speed were all no longer what they once were.

Since this was something that could be killed, and not like those strange Monsters in the Valley of Life, then this was still manageable!

Moreover, Lu Fan could also see that this Monster was particularly skilled at close combat, since it had almost no Range Attack Skills.

With such an obvious weakness, it was destined that Lu Fan and his ten Pet Dragons working together would have countless methods to kill it.

After the Ancient God Shadow Guard escaped from its bindings, it chose to take the initiative to attack, and its target was naturally the Pet Dragon most adept at Magic Attack, Bao Bao.

“Kill the Mage first? Quite clever. But, you’ll have to ask whether I agree to it first!” Lu Fan sneered coldly, spreading his wings and intercepting the Ancient God Shadow Guard.
