Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 784, This Boss, I’ve Killed It Before

Translator: Silavin

Jin Zhan looked over and saw the Ancient God Shadow Guard that had left him utterly helpless, the very thing he had been willing to fight to the death, now decapitated!

This scene left Jin Zhan stunned on the spot. If it were not for Lu Fan decapitating the Ancient God Shadow Guard, that moment of bewilderment would have been enough for the Ancient God Shadow Guard to kill him countless times over.

Jin Zhan knew exactly how strong the Ancient God Shadow Guard’s Defence was.

Even when he struck the Ancient God Shadow Guard with his most powerful Skill, the opponent acted as if nothing had happened, weaving freely through his attacks as though it could completely ignore his Skills.

This level of Defence was what troubled Jin Zhan the most.

Yet such a formidable opponent had been killed instantly by someone. This completely shattered his understanding of reality!

As the Ancient God Shadow Guard was split in two and fell from mid-air, a massive figure appeared beside Jin Zhan.

Lu Fan, riding Ye Sha and cloaked entirely in the shadows, made a dramatic entrance!

Jin Zhan was even more astonished because despite Lu Fan and his Giant Dragon being right beside him, his Perception Skill had detected absolutely nothing.

Clearly, if Lu Fan were his enemy, not only would the Ancient God Shadow Guard have died just now, he would have been unable to escape the same fate.

“You… how are you here!?” Jin Zhan stammered after a moment of stunned silence.

Lu Fan smiled and brandished his Flaming Meteor Sword. “Just a coincidence. Originally, I was planning to leave and head to the meeting point we had agreed upon, waiting for the wager to end so we could compare who killed more. But when I turned around, I saw you being chased by this thing, almost driven to desperation.”

Upon hearing this, Jin Zhan’s face immediately turned uncontrollably red with embarrassment.

Previously, he had been full of confidence, wanting to compete with Lu Fan.

Now when they met again, he was in such a wretched state. This made him feel utterly humiliated, even entertaining the thought that he might as well have been killed directly by the Ancient God Shadow Guard earlier.

At least then, he would not have to face Lu Fan while feeling so defeated.

Seeming to notice Jin Zhan’s awkwardness, Lu Fan chuckled. “You don’t need to feel this way. Your opponent is a Level 130 Legendary Grade Boss. It’s perfectly normal that you were not a match for it.”

Jin Zhan paused, then instinctively asked. “If the opponent is a Level 130 Legendary Grade Boss, why are you able to kill it instantly with one move!?”

Lu Fan smiled. “Probably because I’m just abnormally strong.”

Jin Zhan: “…”

Jin Zhan really wanted to ask Lu Fan if he was even speaking Human language.

This was like after finishing an exam, Jin Zhan, the poor student, complained to Lu Fan that he could only score thirty points.

Lu Fan would comfort him saying it was fine, that today’s paper was too difficult, that scoring thirty points was normal.

Then Jin Zhan would ask how Lu Fan scored, and Lu Fan would say, not much, just a hundred.

Jin Zhan would then ask, ‘didn’t you just say the paper is difficult? How can you score a hundred?’

Lu Fan would chuckle and say, ‘That’s to be expected because I’m a top student. Isn’t scoring a hundred perfectly normal?’

Even someone as steady as Jin Zhan nearly wanted to curse.

Just then, Jin Zhan caught sight of the Ancient God Shadow Guard’s corpse on the ground, with rolling black qi pouring from its wounds, and this black gas was condensing to form its second body.

Jin Zhan suddenly remembered something and immediately said. “Wait, this isn’t the time for joking around! It isn’t dead. It has a Skill called Undying Shadow. Even after death, it can resurrect at the cost of having its Attributes reduced. It’s very difficult to truly kill it…”

Before Jin Zhan could finish speaking, he saw two more Dragons emerge from Concealment in mid-air.

One Dragon, Jin Zhan recognised. It was the Frost Dragon King that Lu Fan had summoned before.

The other was a Giant Dragon that made even Jin Zhan feel fear emanating from his very core, the Hell Poison Dragon King.

If asked which of Lu Fan’s Dragons could make outsiders feel most dangerous, it would undoubtedly be Ji Ji.

Although Ji Ji was typically shy and timid, her poison was the most dangerous thing amongst all his Dragon Pets.

Jin Zhan’s Perception was naturally very sharp, so he could sense that if this Dragon he had never seen before touched him even once, his condition would become extremely perilous.

Still, he could not help but wonder how had Lu Fan summoned yet another Pet Dragon, and clearly such a terrifying one at that!?

As Jin Zhan stood amazed, Ji Ji and Lin Dong had already begun to act.

Ji Ji directly spat Hell’s Fatal Poison downward, dousing the still-forming Ancient God Shadow Guard.

Although the Ancient God Shadow Guard’s body had not fully materialised, Ji Ji’s Poison could already affect it.

When Ji Ji’s Poison poured down, purplish-black vapours immediately rose, accompanied by chilling *sizzling* sounds like something thrown into sulphuric acid.

This was not the end. Lin Dong simultaneously let out a Dragon Breath, freezing both the Ancient God Shadow Guard and Ji Ji’s Poison together, creating a container that completely sealed the Ancient God Shadow Guard together with Ji Ji’s Poison, forcing it to endure Ji Ji’s Corrosion with no means of escape.

Poor Ancient God Shadow Guard, its second body had yet to even fully formed before being subjected to such treatment. Its already dramatically reduced Attributes was being Weakened even more miserably.

However, as the Ancient God Shadow Guard’s body took shape, its terrifying power as a Level 130 Legendary Grade Boss still manifested.

With a sudden exertion of force, it shattered all the ice layers on its body and regained its freedom.

Seeing this, Jin Zhan immediately moved to raise his Dragon Spear to help Lu Fan fight the enemy.

However, Lu Fan needed no assistance whatsoever, once again merging with Ye Sha into nothingness.

Reappearing, another flash of red light struck the Ancient God Shadow Guard.

This time, Lu Fan directly severed the just-reformed Ancient God Shadow Guard at the waist, leaving Jin Zhan speechless with amazement.

“I have a rough idea of what Skills this thing has,” said Lu Fan, floating back into mid-air after killing the Ancient God Shadow Guard instantly with one Skill, his tone utterly casual.

“Before encountering you, I had also come across this Monster and killed it. So although I can’t see its Skills, having experience from killing one before, dispatching this one won’t be much trouble.”

“You… you’re saying you killed an Ancient God Shadow Guard!?” Jin Zhan was incredibly shocked, momentarily wondering if he had misheard.
