Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 762, I Like Your Mounts

Translator: Silavin

Regardless of everything, Lu Fan had come here and managed to visit Tu Jing after all.

Through their conversation, Lu Fan learned that Tu Jing had essentially retired to the second line of defence and would no longer participate in the frontline.

Currently, all his authority would be gradually transferred to Jin Zhan.

Jin Zhan was to become the next Tu Jing.

This was not an order from above. In fact, the Three Elders’ original intention was for Tu Jing, whose strength had greatly diminished, to engage in administrative work rather than combat.

However, Tu Jing felt that after all these years of holding power in Dragon Country, it was already enough. Since his strength had already declined, he should step aside for the next generation.

If Jin Zhan were to replace him in charging forward while he remained behind commanding from the rear, it would not be fair to Jin Zhan.

Moreover, Tu Jing very much hoped Jin Zhan could completely take up his mantle. Therefore, Tu Jing planned to entrust everything to Jin Zhan, making him into a second version of himself.

Now, he was still observing Jin Zhan from the rear. If Jin Zhan made any mistakes, he would point them out immediately.

Once Jin Zhan truly grew to match his level, then he could completely retire and go into seclusion.

Tu Jing’s thoughts earned Lu Fan’s approval.

If Lu Fan were in his position, he would also make the same choice.

Unfortunately, while Tu Jing would soon be able to lay down his burden, Lu Fan could not.

With the Ancient Gods’ awakening imminent, he needed to rapidly improve his strength and shoulder the heavy responsibility of being Dragon Country’s Spark.

After their extensive conversation, Lu Fan bid farewell to Tu Jing and departed.

Since he was now at the frontlines of the Far North, and Tu Jing was stationed in the rear, if the two wanted to meet, they could do so at any time. There was no need to exhaust all conversation in a single day.

After parting with Tu Jing, Lu Fan flew along the frontlines towards the outpost belonging to Dragon Capital University.

During his journey, he witnessed the battlefield where countless soldiers and Players battled against Fallen Corpse Puppets.

One person stood out most prominently, bathed in flames throughout his body, each strike unleashing Heaven destroying earth shattering Skills, which directly killed wave after wave of monsters instantly as fierce as the God of War, was none other than Jin Zhan.

It was evident that Jin Zhan’s strength was absolutely in a tier of its own on the battlefield.

All others faced life-threatening dangers when dealing with Fallen Corpse Puppets, yet he alone seemed invincible, mowing down enemies with wild abandon.

Wherever he passed, everyone cried out in amazement.

Whenever Jin Zhan arrived, the soldiers and Players there could feel at ease.

Even if the Fallen Corpse Puppets had some formidable Boss, Jin Zhan could eliminate it with a casual strike, requiring no concern whatsoever.

It was clear that after fighting here for several days, Jin Zhan’s popularity was extraordinarily high. Everyone held great hopes for him being able to replace Tu Jing and take command.

If Dragon Country could have several more youths like this, it would definitely become the number one powerhouse.

After observing for a while, Lu Fan nodded secretly, expressing approval of Jin Zhan’s strength, then flew back to Dragon Capital University’s outpost.

In the outpost, only the Level 80 soldier and Han Ke remained.

As for Zhao Shengming, Jian Ying and the others, they had long since gone to the battlefield below to join the battle.

Although Han Ke was in the outpost cooking, her Ice Crystal Beast was on the nearby battlefield, harvesting the lives of Fallen Corpse Puppets and contributing her part to the battle.

On the battlefield, Jian Ying and the others all rode their Ice Crystal Beasts, attacking the Fallen Corpse Puppets below from their superior position with ranged attacks.

Moreover, with the Ice Crystal Beasts’ presence, all three’s Damage Output was quite high. Compared to people from other outposts, their elimination of Fallen Corpse Puppets was almost effortless.

Seeing the girls battling Monsters here without any danger, Lu Fan felt much more at ease. He flew forward and met up with Jian Ying and the others.

After a brief conversation, the girls learned of Tu Jing’s current situation, while Lu Fan would next grind together with them.

According to Jian Ying and the others, these Fallen Corpse Puppets were indeed formidable, but they could handle them.

After all, the group constantly fought Shadow Monsters on Shadow Island, so their Combat Power was unquestionable.

The Fallen Corpse Puppets’ strength was even somewhat weaker than Shadow Monsters. Also, with the Ice Crystal Beasts, they could naturally handle them with ease.

They were even dissatisfied with grinding Monsters here at the outpost, because with soldiers serving as the first line of defence out front, by the time Fallen Corpse Puppets charged in, they had already been worn down, leaving their numbers sparse.

If possible, they hoped to venture deeper and find more Fallen Corpse Puppets to kill.

However, they did not dare be overconfident, so they planned to wait for Lu Fan’s arrival before making the decision.

Lu Fan naturally had no objections to this.

He still wanted to train up Lin Dong. The Fallen Corpse Puppets here clearly did not meet Lu Fan’s requirements for a proper grinding session.

Just as Lu Fan was about to summon Lin Dong and lead her along with the girls deeper into the Far North, a Sky Mount approached from the neighbouring outpost.

This Sky Mount was a large eagle. It was quite majestic, though still far inferior compared to the Ice Crystal Beasts.

On the eagle sat a man and woman who, judging by their attire, should both be from powerful and wealthy Families. They appear to be a couple.

The man wore valuable equipment throughout. It was a complete Platinum Grade Equipment Set, which was extremely difficult to obtain.

They were clearly heading here, so Lu Fan and the others did not immediately leave but watched as these two approached, wondering what they wanted.

The wealthy Young Master brought his girlfriend near the girls, showing considerable politeness. He greeted everyone, then introduced himself. “Greetings, I’m a student from Dragon Capital’s Holy Dragon University. You should be from Dragon Capital University, right? Our two Universities are neighbours, since we’re practically next door.”

Dragon Capital’s Holy Dragon University ranked among the top three Universities in Dragon Capital. Over the years, it has produced many talents, with recognition not far behind Dragon Capital University.

The outpost next to Dragon Capital University was indeed built for Dragon Capital’s Holy Dragon University, so they were not lying.

Seeing this person was reasonably courteous, Lu Fan also greeted him, then enquired what he had come for and whether they needed Dragon Capital University’s assistance.

“No, I don’t need your help.” The wealthy Young Master smiled. “Our Holy Dragon University people are not weak either. We can handle Monsters of this Level.”

As he spoke, he turned his gaze to the Ice Crystal Beasts beneath Jian Ying and the others, asking. “I just wanted to know where you caught these Sky Mounts. Are they up for sale? My girlfriend really likes them and wants me to get her one too.”
