Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 773, Mad Monster Farming

Translator: Silavin

With so many Fallen Corpse Puppets surging forth from this location, no wonder the frontlines stretched endlessly, yet the Monsters emerged in an unending stream.

The sheer number of them was truly terrifying.

Lu Fan pondered for a moment before actively asking Jin Zhan. “How many caverns like this exist across the entire Far North?”

“Who knows?” Jin Zhan let out a cold laugh. “The Far North is far too dangerous. Even the Griffin Legion’s scouts cannot advance deeper into those unknown regions. At any rate, we’ve currently discovered three caverns like the one before us.”

“The two near us are relatively close together, while the third one is six hundred kilometres away. Apart from these three, there are likely many more undiscovered caverns. Otherwise, their numbers could not possibly be so vast.”

“So many?” Lu Fan was utterly surprised. “Then could they be somehow filled in?”

Jin Zhan shook his head. “It would be difficult. As you’ve seen, all the Monsters on the frontline originate from here. Attempting to seal such an opening would be no simple matter. They won’t stand motionless and allow us to seal this place. Moreover, even if we sealed it, what then? Their numbers wouldn’t change. They would simply surge forth from other caverns. Unless you could locate all of them and seal every single one, only then might we have a chance at completely cutting off these Fallen Corpse Puppets from their source of emergence.”

Pausing briefly, Jin Zhan shook his head again. “But truthfully, I don’t believe sealing all the caverns would stop them. After all, these caverns are ultimately just exits. Couldn’t the Monsters just excavate other exits once we seal them all?”

“Focusing efforts on these caverns merely treats the symptoms, not the root cause. It serves no crucial purpose whatsoever. Far better to do as you and I are doing. To block off the cavern here and slaughter them to our hearts’ content. At least for every Monster we kill, the pressure at the frontlines would lessen somewhat.”

Lu Fan nodded deeply in agreement.

Jin Zhan’s reasoning held merit.

These countless Monsters were not a problem that could be resolved merely by blocking the caverns.

To completely eliminate the disaster before them, the only solution was to extinguish the source.

That source could be said to be the Monsters within, or it could be the Fallen Corpse Ancient God.

However, whichever it might be, neither was something Lu Fan could currently handle.

What Lu Fan could do now was await the Devouring Dragon King’s awakening, then she could join forces with him to confront the Blood Moon’s Owner.

By first killing the Blood Moon’s Owner, they could weaken the Fallen Corpse Ancient God’s strength.

When the Fallen Corpse Ancient God awakens, it would be Dragon Country’s greatest crisis.

Whether they could defeat the Fallen Corpse Ancient God would determine Dragon Country’s survival.

No,  it should be said it would determine whether Humanity could truly continue existing in this world.

Seeing Lu Fan had no further questions, Jin Zhan glanced at the time. “I’ve brought you to such a great Monster farming location. You can’t say I’m bullying you, now.”

“We’ll proceed according to our agreement: whoever farms the most wins.”

“The time limit… shall be one day. Tomorrow at this time, we’ll meet here and examine our Medals to see who has farmed more Monsters!”

Lu Fan nodded in agreement. “Sure, no problem.”

“Then let’s begin!” Having spoken, Jin Zhan rode his Three Legged Fire Bird towards the other cavern’s location, intending to separate from Lu Fan so each could occupy one cavern.

After Jin Zhan departed, Lu Fan unhurriedly fastened the medal to his chest and formally began harvesting the Souls of the Monsters here, converting them into numbers on the Soul Medal.

Naturally, Lu Fan had not forgotten his primary objective was still increasing Lin Dong’s Level.

Therefore, he did not summon his other Pet Dragons despite the match, continuing to summon only Xing Chen and Bao Bao, along with Lin Dong.

Of course, there was no need to recall his Mount, Ye Sha.

Strictly speaking, Ye Sha could not be considered his Pet, but rather a Summon.

His Level corresponded with Xiao Cui who summoned him. As Xiao Cui’s Level increased, his Level would rise accordingly.

Thus, Ye Sha could not share Lin Dong’s Experience Points, so keeping him as a Mount had no cons.

Xing Chen and Bao Bao continued as before, engaging in their Monster clearing mode.

Even Lin Dong was released by Lu Fan to join the slaughter, earning Experience Points for herself.

However, this cavern was simply too vast. Even with three Pet Dragons simultaneously unleashing their Area of Effect Skills, they could only cover half the entrance.

The other half still swarmed forth towards the frontlines, escaping the disaster.

Witnessing this, Lu Fan naturally felt somewhat regretful.

After all, nowhere else could one find such an exhilarating Levelling location.

Therefore, he had no intention of playing the hands-off manager. He directly took Ye Sha to fly above the cavern and used Disperse Weaklings to envelop all the Monsters within range.

Under Lu Fan’s extremely High Attributes, the Monsters below naturally lacked the power to resist Disperse Weaklings’ suppression. Any struck by the shockwaves immediately shattered into fragments.

Thus, Lu Fan himself could use Disperse Weaklings to farm Monsters, creating a zone of nothingness.

Feeling this was not satisfying enough, he even activated Bloodline Sharing Awakening, stimulating Lin Dong’s Bloodline within his body.

Once the Frost Dragon Bloodline was activated, he would gain the Frost Spring Skill Effect, allowing Lu Fan’s Mana to surge forth endlessly, sufficient to support his continuous release of Disperse Weaklings.

The number of Monsters Lu Fan killed naturally could not be compared to Bao Bao and Xing Chen’s, but he could still harvest a ton of Experience Points for himself and Lin Dong.

One person and three Dragons madly dealt Damage together, with the Monsters in this cavern suffering heavy casualties the moment they emerged.

One could imagine that with Lu Fan present, the pressure on the frontlines should now be significantly reduced.

The numbers on his Medal also jumped rapidly. In the blink of an eye, over ten thousand Monsters had already died by Lu Fan’s hand.

[At this rate, defeating Jin Zhan should be a foregone conclusion.]

Thinking this, Lu Fan even glanced towards Jin Zhan’s direction.

Since the distance between the two caverns was not particularly far, Lu Fan, possessing Black Dragon Perception, could roughly observe Jin Zhan’s situation.

What surprised Lu Fan was that Jin Zhan was no pushover either.

At this moment, Jin Zhan had somehow used some Skill to transform into a Three Legged Golden Crow.

Simultaneously, three fireballs circled and danced around him, apparently they were three Pets belonging to him.
