Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 782, Under Attack

Translator: Silavin

[The Fallen Corpse Ancient God’s Skin?] Lu Fan could already imagine that perhaps this was some Monster or Human who had approached the Fallen Corpse Ancient God, consequently coming into contact with this skin, and subsequently being controlled by the Fallen Corpse Ancient God.

At present, this skin had lost its vitality and posed no threat whatsoever.

Lu Fan pondered for a moment, then directly collected it.

It was not that he intended to use this skin for anything particular. He simply felt that since this was the skin of the Fallen Corpse Ancient God, perhaps from studying this skin, he might find out some matters related to the Fallen Corpse Ancient God.

Currently, the strength of Ancient Gods made one feel utterly powerless.

Even Lu Fan had absolutely no confidence in defeating an Ancient God, even if he underwent his Fourth Profession Change, or even Fifth Profession Change…

Therefore, if he could understand Ancient Gods as comprehensively as possible and discover their weaknesses, this would have quite significant meaning for defeating the Ancient Gods.

That portion of the Ancient God that had previously been sealed by the Frost Dragon King had already been handed over to Dragon Capital’s scholars for research after Lu Fan returned to Dragon Capital, but there had been no results thus far.

However, Lu Fan believed that as long as the scholars worked diligently, they would eventually obtain some secrets concerning the Ancient Gods.

After collecting the Fallen Corpse Ancient God’s Skin, Lu Fan looked at the time and discovered that the appointed time between him and Jin Zhan was fast approaching.

He certainly did not want to be judged to be the loser due to being late in such an important wager.

The Epic Grade equipment was a minor matter. Face was the major concern!

Although fighting the Fallen Corpse Ancient God had wasted considerable time for Lu Fan, looking at the numbers in his Soul Medal, Lu Fan still felt that victory would inevitably be his.

Since he no longer needed Experience Points, Lu Fan did not recall his other Pet Dragons, but mounted Ye Sha and led his Pet Dragons to fly back.

If there were still Monsters along the way, he would kill them as well, firstly to continue adding more to his Soul Medal, and secondly to reduce pressure on the frontlines.

However, speaking of which, the situation within the cavern was complex, with even the Ancient God Shadow Guards that had previously appeared near the coffin showing up.

Clearly, this cavern was very likely the Fallen Corpse Ancient God’s lair.

If he continued forward, he might encounter the Blood Moon’s Owner, or even the coffin of the Fallen Corpse Ancient God itself.

After completing his Fourth Profession Change, Lu Fan still planned to return here to investigate the situation within this cavern carefully and cautiously.

With his strength and the Skill to create a Transport Array to return to Shadow Isle, he reckoned that even if he encountered the Blood Moon’s Owner, he would have the ability to escape from here.

Just as Lu Fan was thinking this, suddenly his ears twitched as he heard explosive abnormal sounds coming from the distant parts of the cavern.

Because the cavern was filled with Fallen Corpse Puppets, they would not attack each other, but would find the nearest exit and, after emerging, attack Dragon Country.

So apart from Lu Fan’s Pet Dragons using Skills to attack Monsters, basically no other sounds could be heard. So far, only the roars of Monsters and the thunderous sound of their stomping.

But the sounds Lu Fan heard were clearly different, immediately capturing his attention.

Looking back, he saw several consecutive explosions occurring amongst the distant Monster horde.

Each explosion burst forth with enormous mushroom clouds and fireballs, appearing quite powerful.

*Boom boom boom…*

Continuous explosive sounds kept ringing out, forming a continuous chain amongst the Monster horde, killing countless Monsters.

Watching the Skill Effects and intensity, Lu Fan immediately smiled.

Because he recognised that these came from Jin Zhan.

[What a coincidence. To think while returning, I would encounter Jin Zhan after not seeing him for so long.]

He wondered which direction this person had taken after entering his cavern exit, and how many Monsters he had killed.

The two meeting here was indeed fortuitous.

Lu Fan considered and had no intention of stopping to greet Jin Zhan.

After all, the two were still competitors at present. If he truly wanted to exchange greetings and pleasantries, he could wait until after leaving here, comparing their Soul Medals, settling the wager, then speak again.

Lu Fan immediately wanted Ye Sha to accelerate and leave this place.

But just as he was about to turn back, he suddenly discovered something was not quite right about Jin Zhan’s situation.

Jin Zhan was currently still transformed into his Three Legged Golden Crow Form.

Beside him, three Pets followed closely.

However, although Jin Zhan was killing Monsters all the way, his movement was extremely peculiar, winding and complex, not proceeding straight towards the exit.

It seemed as though something was constantly pursuing him. Though he wished to leave through the exit, due to that thing’s relentless pursuit and blockade, he could only continuously change directions while airborne.

This was not Lu Fan’s random speculation, but was quickly confirmed.

When his three Pets were following closely behind him in flight, one seemed injured, clearly suffering a reduction in Speed and having difficulty keeping up with Jin Zhan and its other two companions.

It had only fallen behind by a few metres when suddenly a black shadow emerged from nowhere and collided with this Pet.

Immediately, these two figures, one black and one red, fell from high altitude, tumbling into the Monster horde.

Accompanied by a Phoenix-like mournful cry, the firelight that fell into the Monster horde quickly dimmed, suggesting Jin Zhan’s Pet was in grave danger.

And Jin Zhan, understanding the principle of sacrificing pawns to save the King, showed no hesitation even as his Pet was left behind. He seized the time and opportunity to flee towards the exit.

Clearly, Jin Zhan was in trouble!

Otherwise, it would be impossible for him not to dare return to rescue his Pet when it encountered trouble.

Lu Fan could see that although he did not know what Jin Zhan’s three pets were, their Grades and strength were not low, at minimum Epic Grade existences.

Moreover, these three Pets perfectly matched Jin Zhan’s Profession Characteristics. To him, their importance was even comparable to Legendary Grade equipment!

For him to dare not rescue such valuable Pets, one could imagine how grave a threat the thing chasing him was.

Although he had not gotten along with Jin Zhan, Lu Fan still greatly admired this person.

Additionally, he was the Successor that Tu Jing was devoted to cultivating, so naturally Lu Fan could not let him perish here.

[Jin Zhan, encountering me here is indeed your fortune!] Lu Fan thought to himself, then patted Ye Sha beneath him.

“Ye Sha, use Shadow Shroud!”

From Ye Sha’s body, shadows suddenly burst forth, enveloping Lu Fan and all the Pet Dragons.

Instantly, all Pet Dragons concealed their forms while their sounds completely disappeared without trace.
