Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1093: Chapter 24 Dialogue of the Mercenary Organization! [Second Update]

In general, the ”Space Travel” skill, which is extremely useful even at a stellar level, the method of expanding the attack range with Brainwave Power, and the defense trick that involved directing battleship attack energy into subspace by distorting space.

Although the latter two moves were not particularly effective at stellar levels, they were still very useful skills for Jia Yan at the moment. Moreover, it didn’t take him too long to learn these two moves—perhaps with more practice, he could achieve even better results.

”Alright, next is to see when we can reach the nation of Kama, I hope there won’t be any changes along the way,” Jia Yan said after organizing his current combat skills and nodded in satisfaction.

He had never felt that his foundation was so rich before.

He always felt that other people’s tactics were powerful and his own foundation was lacking, but now, possessing the inheritance of a strongman, he was stronger than any ordinary strongman by an unknown amount. He also believed that perhaps in the Northern Star Domain, there might not be another existence like himself, possessing the inheritance of a peak stellar-level strongman.

In the starry sky, battle ships flew swiftly.

On these ships, every one of them bore the image of a huge monster, a creature from Earth that would be all too familiar to Earth people—because it was an image of a mosquito, enlarged countless times!

This was an interstellar fleet, comprising over a thousand ships.

If such an advanced fleet were to go to the Perseus Arm Star Field, it might wreak havoc because this fleet’s strength was something that the backward star fleets of the Orion Arm could not withstand.

But in the Northern Star Domain, a thousand-ship fleet did not stand out much. The forces owning over a thousand battleships were too numerous to count.

In this technologically advanced Northern Star Domain, technological weapons were ubiquitous. On the other hand, strong individuals were not as prevalent.

”Hmm? The influence of the Mercenary Organization is so great here as well? Whose forces are these Mercenary Organizations, and why do they seem to be seen everywhere?”

Inside a camp-level spaceship, Jia Yan, who had spent some time cultivating, looked at the intelligence he had gathered with astonishment.

In the Desolate Star Field, he knew of the strength of the Mercenary Organization, to the extent that many of the top ten strongmen were mercenaries. But what he had not expected was, upon actually arriving in the Northern Star Domain, to find that the Mercenary Organization’s influence here far exceeded his imagination.

”Among the wars that need to be declared by several big forces, the Northern Star Domain Alliance might be the leader, yet this includes Mercenary Organizations too. If they disagree, then no war can break out; if someone dares to fight, the Mercenary Organization could make that force vanish entirely!”

”Even among the several publicly known semi-permanent star strongmen in the Northern Star Domain, two of them are members of the Mercenary Organization. Historically, there was a Big Alliance Power that resisted the Mercenary Organization’s rules of war, and as a result, a semi-permanent star strongman moved, uprooting that alliance completely, and banning it!”

Having read about the dreadful Mercenary Organization, Jia Yan was somewhat startled.

Kama was not idle in space; over the past few days, she had been busy applying for ”war” with several major forces. Although it was not mandatory to declare it, stepping over the line without declaring could lead to being annihilated by these big alliances without even knowing how it happened!

Because of her, Jia Yan had also looked at the so-called declaration documents, realizing that some things in this Northern Star Domain were not so simple.

”War also needs to be declared. Of course, minor wars, like those between the Red Tower Alliance and Hao Tower Alliance, they don’t care to meddle, and only reluctantly hold a meeting after the war has started. What Kama is preparing for is a war for restoration, which is usually on a larger scale, hence the need to declare,” Jia Yan looked at the information on the light screen with a somber expression.

He figured out why, in the Northern Star Domain, though it seemed chaotic, there wasn’t outright turmoil—the presence of these several gigantic organizations kept the chaos within certain limits.

”Lord, there is a long-range communication! It’s from the Mercenary Organization, and they have specifically requested for you to answer personally.”

Just as Jia Yan was learning a bit about the superpowers of the Northern Star Domain, suddenly, Kama’s communication request hit his ears.

”The Mercenary Organization? They’ve actually approached me,” Jia Yan was somewhat astonished—this giant entity seeking him out was quite surprising.

As Kama’s image faded, the Smart Brain light screen in front of Jia Yan subtly started to distort.

Interstellar communication, something that was impossible in the communication division of the Giant Mosquito Fleet, because it needed more than just the operator’s technology—it represented unbelievable technological strength combined with enormous funds.

The principle of this communication was to achieve faster-than-light real-time communication through quantum entanglement over great distances. Moreover, the technology that Kama mentioned her country could realize for long-distance transmission seemed also related to this quantum entanglement.

Of course, at this moment Jia Yan still didn’t understand these technologies; he just thought that if it worked, it was fine.

The image gradually became clear.

”Mister Jia Yan, hello,” the figure said as the screen presented a face resembling that of a human.

This was a man from the Bella clan, similar to Kama in appearance to Earth people, but his strength was absolutely incomparable to Kama’s!

He was a Bella of the Respect Level and Jia Yan could feel from the screen that the man was not just an ordinary respectful one.

”Hello, Mister from the Mercenary Organization,” Jia Yan nodded to him.

The Respect-Level Strongman didn’t seem to have any intention of introducing himself; instead, he surveyed Jia Yan’s surroundings through the communicator before finally focusing his gaze back on Jia Yan.

”Jia Yan, as an open star field, this star field welcomes Outsiders, but if you want your dominant force to start a war, although nominally it’s to help your subordinates reclaim their nation, and Kama does have a legitimate reason and identity, we still have doubts about your identity and strength. Our organization has decided to test you. If you want to continue operating in the Northern Alliance, I hope you will not refuse.”

”Testing, you say? What kind of test will it be?” Jia Yan wondered, somewhat tensely.

The man’s gaze surveyed his room for a moment, but upon returning, it fixed on his body, unrelentingly staring.

Jia Yan knew that in the Northern Star Domain, attention towards outsiders wasn’t usually this intense—after all, although this star field was always threatened by military forces from many factions, there had never been much xenophobia here, because the whole star field was rumored to have migrated from a very distant place.

But now they said they needed to test Jia Yan!?

He had seen some documents before and never encountered such a precedent; even if outsiders wanted to attack a force, as long as it didn’t endanger the few giant powers and the war didn’t escalate to a mega-war, they usually didn’t care much.

Could there be some conspiracy involved?

Jia Yan looked deeply at the strongman before him. The man’s scrutinizing eyes made Jia Yan quite uncomfortable, and he didn’t know what might have offended him, as the Bella’s face didn’t seem to show any goodwill.

”So what kind of test does your organization have in mind? Let me just say that if you want me to go to your organization’s territory on my own, that’s not going to happen,” Jia Yan said directly.

”Come to us? We wouldn’t want you to come, and you don’t qualify. Here’s the deal: I’ve heard that your fleet is heading to a place called Dragon Bell Star, which is also where Kama’s defeated soldiers gather. I will send some testers to meet with you there. Don’t worry, the strong ones we send will not be at the Respect Level—you don’t need to worry about us harming you,” the Bella seemed to anticipate Jia Yan’s concerns and spoke indifferently.

”Alright, I’m busy with my tasks, so I hope to see you there in a month, goodbye.” With that, the Bella strongman closed the communication.

”This Bella clan’s strongman is sure full of himself!”

As the screen abruptly went black, Jia Yan chuckled disdainfully.

The strength of this adversary might appear formidable to the current Jia Yan, but it wasn’t completely invincible. If tactics were used properly, it was not impossible to repeat the feat of overcoming Rzanine by rising above one’s level. Moreover, Jia Yan’s strength was still improving rapidly, and by the time a month passed, it wasn’t certain who would be stronger. Therefore, at this moment, he didn’t harbor much fear towards this Bella dignitary.

Soon, Jia Yan dialed Kama’s number.

”Kama, could the previous communication pinpoint our location?”

”No way, boss. What does this Mercenary Organization want from you?” Kama was obviously unaware of the reason behind the communication.

”They want to test me, and they also know we’re heading to Dragon Bell Star soon. It seems this Mercenary Organization has a very accurate account of our movements.”

”It’s not their guessing that’s accurate; it’s that our path is destined to lead there. We need to seek assistance and can only go to Dragon Bell Star because of the historical reasons of our defeat. Many of the defeated soldiers of my homeland are there, and from media reports, many strong exiles from my country are also converging there now. Boss, even if others have guessed our direction, we definitely need to make a trip to Dragon Bell Star. If it really comes to it... I’ll go by myself, and you can wait at a safe distance,” Kama explained.

Kama felt some confusion about the Mercenary Organization’s intent to test Jia Yan. Given the organization’s strength, which utterly surpasses any local force and even has connections with legendary Stellar-level strongmen, and with their headquarters not even based in the Northern Star Domain but just a minor branch here, it was unimaginable to Kama why such an organization would take notice of Jia Yan.
