Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1081: Chapter 12 Matea Tactic!? [Four Updates Explode]

Kama actually overtrained the fleet before the battle, causing some of the more knowledgeable members of the Giant Mosquito Fleet to grow concerned.

At this moment, Jia Yan was naturally among the fleet, and he too was somewhat worried about this situation.

”Boss, don’t ask anything; just watch over the next fleet battle,” Kama said to Jia Yan when he tried to inquire. Jia Yan saw intense belief in her clear eyes and swallowed his questions.

As the leader, it was essential for him to have unconditional trust in his subordinates!

Unknown to him, once his communicator was shut off, Kama’s firm gaze turned to hesitation.

”I can’t fail again this time; I can’t let what happened years ago occur again!” Her eyes shifted from hesitation to resolve.

Had Jia Yan seen her reaction, he might have reconsidered her command.

But by now, it was too late; the Giant Mosquito Fleet was already heading toward the enemy millions of kilometers away.

Not only were both fighting parties invested in this relatively minor skirmish, but many in the Northern Star Domain Alliance were also closely watching the impending battle.

Even the Red Tower Alliance was prepared. If the Tenth Army led by their own managed to defeat the Giant Mosquito Fleet, they were ready to trumpet their victory over the alien fleet across the international stage. It would not only significantly alleviate the negative impact of the Hao Tower Alliance’s invasion but could also bolster their image.

”Lord General, we’ve spotted the enemy’s light and shadow,” a monstrous subordinate reported.

Upon hearing this, the entire vanguard of the Tenth Army became invigorated.

Winning this battle could very well turn them into heroes.

”Good! Let us meet them head-on!” Rzanine, the General of the Tenth Army, said with ease.

The vanguard battleships of the Tenth Army from the Red Tower Alliance advanced cautiously.

Their numbers were only a fraction of the official Tenth Army—just over three hundred vessels. Yet, they were the elite of the Red Tower Alliance’s Tenth Army Corps, with General Rzanine in personal command. Against the not vastly different-sized Giant Mosquito Fleet, they saw no reason to lose.

Like ravenous wolves, the elite forces of the Tenth Army swiftly advanced to suppress the onrush of the Giant Mosquito Fleet, determined to seize the acceleration rights.

”Be patient, this area is rich in star space material—no way the Giant Mosquito Fleet, no matter how adroit their maneuvering, would dare to push their speed to the limit, let alone light speed. That would be suicide,” Rzanine casually remarked after observing the advancing shadows of the Giant Mosquito Fleet on the command ship’s screens.

An experienced war veteran, he could easily interpret the current situation.

The Giant Mosquito Fleet was advancing rapidly, clearly seeking the acceleration right—a valuable asset in space, provided the terrain allowed. Just like when they were in the Chaos Starfield’s Twisted Territory, moving too fast could be the end if they collided with something.

And the current terrain was notorious for its high concentration of interstellar material—one could encounter a chunk of star space material at any moment. Even a speed slightly over cruising standards could spell disaster!

”The Giant Mosquito Fleet’s commander obviously wants to play a game of who dares to escalate to a dangerous state. I won’t play your game; without doing so, you have no chance of defeating me!” Rzanine mused, eyeing the spots of light on the display.

The dots representing the battleships of the Giant Mosquito Fleet surged forward, seemingly aiming to smash directly into the middle of the Tenth Fleet.

The two groups were roughly equal in number, around three hundred ships each, and the battleground they had encountered was not ideal for either.

This was a region littered with floating star space materials. Previously, a collection company from the Hao Tower Alliance had worked here, but they had retreated due to the advance of the Red Tower Alliance’s vanguard force.

”Hmph, the Giant Mosquito Fleet lacks substantial war experience. I’ve heard of their previous encounters—limited to skirmishes with minor forces in the Desolate Star System. I doubt their commanders have ever faced a fleet as large as ours.”

”Isn’t that the truth? The commander is probably scared out of their wits.”

”Haha, don’t get cocky. I heard that their commander, a female from the Bella species—I once encountered one. Our mating organs are compatible. It was terrific. I wonder if I’ll get to use her if we catch her?”

”Look at you, underestimating the Giant Mosquito Fleet. Their strongest, that Jia Yan, is pretty formidable. The Giant Mosquito species? I’ve never heard of them. I wonder how many moves he’d last against our Lord General? A High-space Level, at best ten moves.”

”Get lost, ten moves? You give him too much credit. The previous Starry Sky High-Order Expert from the Hao Tower Alliance, what’s his name, Obi? Claimed to be one of their top experts, and what happened? Ended up defeated by our Lord General in a single move. If Jia Yan is any stronger, I say at most two moves. No more!”

”To me, he might just survive one move, not even sure he’s better than that Obi. Coming from the barren Desolate Star System—they talk big, but that’s about it. Maybe even our middle period powerhouse in the vanguard could best him.”

”Haha, don’t look down on the country folk, or they might just start crying from laughter.”

...

The soldiers of the Red Tower Alliance, facing the approaching Giant Mosquito Fleet, held them in almost no regard. It wasn’t just because the opposing fleet’s equipment level was inferior to theirs, but also because the combat history of the Giant Mosquito Fleet was so minimal that it barely registered upon research. To these veterans with experience in war, it was like fighting novices—they couldn’t possibly take them seriously.

Of course, it wasn’t just them. Nearly all the major alliances within the surrounding starry sky area reported on the battle in the same manner. The evil ”Giant Mosquito Fleet” was slandered by piece after piece in the media; it was portrayed as no match for the powerful Tenth Army of the Red Tower Alliance, suggesting that a single charge could wipe out the entire Giant Mosquito Fleet.

Unlike certain alliances that sympathized with the Hao Tower Alliance, no creature from the Northern Star Domain held any affinity for the Giant Mosquito Fleet, the outsiders that were apparently the spark for war.

Amidst this atmosphere of anticipation and delight, the distance between the two fleets grew ever closer.

One hundred million kilometers.

Eighty million kilometers.

Sixty million kilometers.

Forty million kilometers.

Twenty million kilometers.

Nine million kilometers...

”Hm?”

As the distance between them narrowed, an observer in the vanguard squadron of the Tenth Army let out a surprised exclamation from the observation system.

”What?” He looked fearfully at the light and shadow on the screen and unbelievingly rubbed his eyes.

”This isn’t good!” Moments later, he shouted in extreme panic.

Before long, an eerie alarm resounded throughout the entire fleet.

”What? How is this possible! How did the Giant Mosquito Fleet do this? It’s not possible.”

Panic footsteps were heard everywhere. For the soldiers, the sound of an alarm was always their greatest fear. It signified an unexpected event.

The observer’s report was communicated command by command directly into the hands of the fleet’s high command.

And one by one, upon reading this message, members of the Tenth Army gasped in shock.

”This is... there’s no mistake, this is...”

One tactical analyst after another, staring at the data in their hands, were not only gasping in disbelief, but their eyes were nearly popping out of their heads.

”It’s actually the Lightning Mouse Maneuver? No, no, if they’re using the Lightning Mouse Maneuver, then what they intend to use is...”

The analysts looked at each other in bewilderment. After identifying the tactic that the enemy was using, the shock in their eyes deepened even further.

After a brief glance at each other, the analysts shouted out in unison!

”Matea Tactic!”

”It’s not good, Lord General, the opponent is using the tactic from the classic battles of the Northern Star Domain, a tactic used by Lord Pipasser a thousand years ago, this commander is extraordinary!”

One analyst after another spoke in amazed tones to the incredulous Rzanine.

”What are you all talking about? What is the Matea Tactic?” Rzanine asked, slightly perplexed.

Although he was a general with extensive war experience, his theoretical knowledge naturally wasn’t as substantial as that of these professional tactical analysts; at this moment, the Matea Tactic was a complete mystery to him.

”Lord General, the Matea Tactic is a strategy used only once by Lord Pipasser a thousand years ago, where he led a fleet of five thousand battleships to victory against an enemy fleet of twenty thousand from the Hong Tai Empire. In that battle, he devastated the main force of the Hong Tai Empire’s twenty thousand battleships, leaving only three thousand to flee in disarray. That classic and most audacious tactic used by Lord Pipasser was the Matea Tactic, employing a unique mode of progression which left the enemy utterly powerless to resist,” explained one tactical analyst.

Another analyst shouted like someone showing off: ”However, the tactic requires an extremely high level of coordination within the entire fleet, and if the enemy discovers it, the entire fleet would be in danger. After Lord Pipasser, no military leader has ever successfully employed this move in real combat.”

”This tactic demands too much of the commander’s real-time judgment abilities. Three years ago, in a minor war within the Northern Alliance, there was a genius who attempted to use this well-known tactic and failed, leading to the annihilation of that country’s last fleet. I could never have imagined that after three years, there would be a general bold enough to use this tactic against us!”
