Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1080: Chapter 11: It’s Finally Our Turn [The Third Release of the Outbreak]

Men Bo found it somewhat strange, as he didn’t recall arranging any troops behind the Obi-era army, how could there still be troops?

”Giant Mosquito Fleet! They’re right behind that war zone, they can hold off the Tenth Army for a while, I suppose if they can hold them off, we will pull our defenses back,” declared the Starry Sky Monster, pointing at a small point on the sand table that didn’t actually exist, loudly stating.

”Uh, Giant Mosquito Fleet?” Men Bo looked at the little point representing the fleet on the holographic sand table with some astonishment.

”Alright, give them the order...” After thinking it over and finding no other option, Men Bo said somewhat grumpily.

”Let the Giant Mosquito Fleet officially get involved in the war between our Alliance and the Red Tower Alliance as mercenaries!” the monster roared directly.

About a month after entering the Northern Star Domain, the Giant Mosquito Fleet, led by Jia Yan, truly began their involvement in the war of the entire Northern Star Domain!

This was also the beginning of this fleet’s legendary status in this starfield!

”Lord, we’ve lost the Hao Tower Alliance position ahead. The highest-ranking officer of the Hao Tower Alliance, Lord Men Bo, has officially declared, hiring our Giant Fleet as war mercenaries! At the same time, he orders our Giant Fleet to head nine hundred million kilometers away to meet the enemy forces breaking through!”

Kama’s communication voice transmitted into Jia Yan’s communicator.

”Hm?” Jia Yan, who was practicing Senior Light and Shadow’s combat techniques amid the Starry Sky, was taken aback by the news.

”Alright, announce it, prepare the fleet for departure before the battle. Once I return, we will set out immediately!” Jia Yan wasn’t astonished for too long, nor did he resist the sudden orders too much. For him, having accepted the other party’s request, it was important to show some effort for now, as long as the war hadn’t gone awry. And if things truly became irredeemable, retreating was also an option for him.

”Yes! It’s finally our turn, Lord.” The voice of Kama, coming from behind the communicator, carried a slight nervousness and expectation; apparently, she shared the same eagerness for war as Jia Yan.

”Hehe, don’t you embarrass me, Marshal. Just don’t lose the first battle under your command. The Giant Mosquito Fleet has just started out in the Northern Star Domain,” said Jia Yan to the excited-looking woman.

”I guarantee I won’t disappoint you, Lord. You will see, the real me...” Kama looked meaningfully at Jia Yan before flashing a seductive smile.

Ending the communication, Jia Yan surveyed the surroundings. The cosmic region he was in was an incredibly tranquil place, located hundreds of thousands of kilometers from where his Giant Mosquito Fleet was stationed—about the distance from Earth to Moon for Earth people.

However, this distance was not that far for Big Mosquito nowadays.

”Alright, let’s head back.”

With just a slight movement of his wings, in a place that was supposed to lack any atmosphere and where wings wouldn’t need to flap, it seemed as though air was present. The moment he flapped his wings, his body zoomed forward and soared up!

”Jia Yan, you’ve greatly improved your strength this time. The extent of control over True Energy you’ve achieved, while not yet mastering the environment, your ability to handle Energy has far surpassed your past self, hehe, I am very much looking forward to your first battle after returning, how terrifying will you become in real combat?” mused Senior Light and Shadow, his voice resonating through the vacuum of space.

”Senior, as for the matter of strength, I dare not guarantee anything, but I suppose I must be a bit stronger than before...” Jia Yan responded lightly.

”Just a bit? Gahaha, Jia Yan, I find you’re being quite modest, overly modest is just showing off, didn’t you say that yourself?”

”Heh, who’s to say otherwise? If you can’t bear my show-off method, then I can brag a little. I am strong now, very strong, just wait and see my combat for yourself!”

”Oh boy, you—don’t be too careless. Actual combat is different, many strong ones who are powerful in regular times, their combat power may not be strong in actual combat. I haven’t seen your combat ability in action yet; your strength might not fully manifest, so don’t be too careless.”

”Senior, oh Senior, I can’t claim to be strong, nor can I not be strong, what exactly do you want me to be? Alright, you say you haven’t seen my combat ability? Well fine, just wait, in this upcoming battle, I’ll show you, maybe my combat ability will surprise you too.”

...

The entire interstellar public opinion was in an uproar upon learning that the Giant Mosquito Fleet had finally been dispatched. The Giant Mosquito Fleet had always been kept hidden by the Hao Tower Alliance, and their deployment now signaled a change in the tragic character of the Alliance in the eyes of many ordinary residents of the Northern Star Domain, who had believed the so-called Giant Mosquito Fleet was nonexistent.

As it turned out, the fleet dispatched for battle was indeed the Giant Mosquito Fleet, which caused even those who had been supporters of the Hao Tower Alliance to adopt an unsupportive attitude. Outsiders were taboo for the Northern Star Domain, and the often-attacked Northern Alliance had never welcomed such presences.

And just a few hundred million kilometers away from the Giant Mosquito Fleet, a flank division of the victorious Red Tower Alliance Tenth Fleet was discussing the Hao Tower Alliance’s declaration about the Giant Mosquito Fleet entering battle.

”The Giant Mosquito Fleet was hidden directly ahead of us? It seems we’re in luck to encounter them. But really, can this fleet of merely three hundred rudimentary battleships dare to fight?”

”That’s not all. I heard their strongest is just at the High-space Level, it’s laughable. Such a fleet could easily be disposed of by us with a mere flick of the hand!”

As the Giant Mosquito Fleet prepared for battle, it became a hot topic in the public opinion of the entire Northern Star Domain. For those who were about to face them, like the Red Tower Alliance Tenth Fleet’s Marshal and other such dignitaries, there was a sense of exhilaration.

The Giant Mosquito Fleet was not strong, yet the Red Tower Alliance had crafted them into a high-profile adversary. If their flank division could wipe out this fleet, it would be a substantial boon to the entire Tenth Fleet’s renown.

”Don’t underestimate the Giant Mosquito Fleet,” cautioned the highest-ranking official of the Red Tower Alliance, known as the ferocious Monster Rzanine to his subordinates. ”Men Bo taking notice of this fleet and daring to fight suggests they might have some tricks up their sleeve. Moreover, we are not the entire Tenth Army, merely a vanguard unit, and the number of our battleships isn’t much larger than theirs. Be careful not to turn over in a small ditch.”

The monsters within the whole flagship had few thoughts about their commander’s statement. Being Strong Ones, the strongest of the Red Tower Alliance’s Tenth Army, they considered their commander to be overly cautious. To them, the strength of a fleet didn’t just depend on equipment or an individual Strong One—it was about the fleet’s overall combat power.

And according to the intelligence gathered on the Giant Mosquito Fleet, this fleet hadn’t been established for long; frankly speaking, they were still at the level of bandits. Compared to a regular army that had gone through the fire and blood of true warfare, there was an entire level of strength apart.

Even if the experience gap wasn’t large, considering equipment and the number of Strong Ones, their flank division was certainly far mightier.

Watching his subordinates continue to look down on the Giant Mosquito Fleet, Fleet Commander Rzanine smiled helplessly. Frankly, he did not hold the Giant Mosquito Fleet in high esteem either. His mind was already occupied with how his division would move on to attack Hao Tower Star after crushing the Giant Mosquito Fleet.

”Men Bo’s strength is a bit troublesome, and I’ll need to be cautious in combat with him. However, reinforcements will soon arrive from behind, two Starry Sky Sovereigns. He stands no chance of victory, right? Just kill Men Bo, and the outcome of the entire war will be decided!” With these thoughts, Rzanine smiled softly.

...

”Advance! This is the first large-scale group battle since the founding of our Giant Mosquito Fleet. The enemy will not show mercy nor forgive your errors. What you must do now is to fully demonstrate the results of your regular training!”

Mo Ke’s fierce voice continuously echoed throughout the battleship.

Kama was no different, her eyes locked onto every aspect of the fleet, continuously instructing and directing those who were at the level of captains.

”Ship 289, I’ve told you countless times during drills that you need to perform a lateral slide at this time, and yet you directly rammed forward. If you want to die, that’s your own business, but if you endanger the whole fleet, you can be replaced immediately. There are plenty who could take your command!”

”And Ship 125, your mistake is even worse. How many times have I told you about the Pi over Yu Tactics, and you still don’t understand? This is knowledge you can learn in intermediate War Colleges in the Northern Star Domain. If you can’t even remember this, are you just good-for-nothings?”

Kama rebuked each ship in turn, and no matter how well they performed, she found flaws to point out—even in the ships commanded by Mo Ke himself.

Are all captains of the Giant Mosquito Fleet incompetent? No! They had done as much as they could. But there’s a saying in the starry sky: ”In the universe, what you can do is never enough; there’s always something to strive for.”

That was the dilemma of being a captain, just like the captains of the Giant Mosquito Fleet now—they might have done well enough, but Kama always managed to find even the smallest of faults in their actions.

The Giant Mosquito Fleet was already on edge during their march, and Kama’s relentless criticism only served to exhaust the members of the entire fleet even more.
